Ben of the @BeaufortBeaus takes a look at the most popular trades of Round 5 so far.
Most Traded In
Swapping the injured Jeremy Howe to fellow-Pie Brayden Maynard is the most popular trade of the week but it’s a wait-and-see how Collingwood’s backline readjusts. I’ve also flagged Lachie Neale because Port Adelaide are the toughest team to score against and surely he’ll cop a tag.
On the other hand, Brandon Parfitt is massively under-priced if he can stay healthy and keep up his massive tackle numbers. Jy Simpkin and Marc Pittonet both featured in this list last week but are still excellent picks.
- Brayden Maynard (DEF, $651,000) 👀
- Hayden Young (DEF, $313,000)
- Brandon Parfitt (MID/FWD, $604,000) 👍
- Tristan Xerri (RUCK, $182,000)
- Marc Pittonet (RUCK, $431,000) 👍
- Caleb Serong (MID, $282,000)
- Jy Simpkin (MID/FWD, $629,000) 👍
- Aidan Corr (DEF, $368,000) 👀
- Michael Hibberd (MID, $197,000)
- Lachie Neale (MID, $901,000) 🚩
Most Traded Out
Andrew Brayshaw seems to appear on this list every week, but it’s worth holding this time because Nat Fyfe is injured and Adelaide are the easiest team to score against. It’s a wait-and-see whether dropping Stephen Coniglio is the right call because there’s every chance the GWS captain bounces back, and Marlion Pickett’s on the extended bench so reverse that trade if he’s named at 5pm.
Numbers 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10 on this list are easy outs due to injury or suspension.
- Jeremy Howe (DEF, $638,000) 👍
- Jarrod Brander (DEF/FWD, $354,000) 👍
- Sam Naismith (RUCK, $368,000) 👍
- Stephen Coniglio (MID, $721,000) 👀
- Nat Fyfe (MID, $755,000) 👍
- Marlion Pickett (MID, $255,000) 👀
- Andrew Brayshaw (MID/FWD, $511,000) 👎
- Steele Sidebottom (MID, $800,000) 👍
- Harley Bennell (MID, $267,000) 👍
- Dylan Roberton (DEF, $317,000) 👍
Trade Targets
- Caleb Serong, MID, $282K
- Ned McHenry, MID, $209K
- Mitchell Hibberd, MID, $197K
- Jack Mahoney, MID/FWD, $206K
- Shane McAdam, FWD, $177K
This week’s No. 1 target doesn’t come cheap, but Caleb Serong is the best starting rookie up for grabs at the moment. Most of the popular cash cows are out of an affordable price range, but Serong is worth every penny given his junior reputation and his performance on debut last week. Ned McHenry and Mitchell Hibberd are risky options to play on your field, but given McHenry’s pending FWD DPP, he just outranks the new Bomber. Last weekend, Jack Mahoney didn’t get to show off his fantasy wares, but I have faith he’ll be better off this weekend, with Shane McAdam rounding out the top-5. The basement Crows forward might not hold onto a spot in the 22, but if he does I expect him to nearly double his scoring output. Hopefully.

The line for last night’s game was firm at 96 and only a few achieved this difficult task. Jack Steele (110) and Marshall (99) got the job done and if you were lucky enough to have these uniques in your team then lock away the score right now. Docherty was a highly sort after option and although he scored 80 (BCV:100) it isn’t enough considering the crew we have coming up.
- Brodie Grundy
- Max Gawn
- Lachie Neale
- Jake Lloyd
- Taylor Adams
- Bachar Houli
- Todd Goldstein
- Patrick Dangerfield
- Josh Kelly
- Tom Mitchell

Torn between Crisp, Weller and Haynes?
@TrickyMickey90
Hey mate,
I really like all of those options. Currently Crisp and Weller are in the Rollin’ 22 and Haynes is knocking on the door. Interestingly Maynard is currently D8 in the rollin’ based on form and he is the most popular replacement for the injured Howe.
Weller: Great role, tough game this week, can the Suns remain this competitive and maintain scoring?
Haynes: Gun, plenty of marks, Giants about to get their act together
Crisp: Personally I think Crisp is going to be a big beneficiary of Howe being out as I think he will see a spike in rebound possessions. He is my pick.
