We promised a season wrap after the AFL Grand Final and here it is… well sort of! We filmed this pretty much just after the Hawks won and dribble a fair bit of rubbish! A lot of love goes to DT Talk’s own Luke Hodge the Norm Smith Medallist! What a DT gun and absolute top bloke! We get to see highlights of Hawthorn supporter Vin-Twin loving the work by his boys… call of the day was definately “Renouf, Renouf, Renouf is on fire” when he actually did something in the game Chopper is actually very happy this week and give heaps of praise to the Hawkers - including offering Stuart Dew a chicken! We finish the show with a bit of a highlight package from the year!

All good things must come to an end and so does DT Talk for 2008 (so I guess some bad things do too)! We find out on this Mad Monday episode of the show that unfortunately destROY didn’t quite get up over Tackling Tit-ed in the Grand Final, despite some pretty awesome cheering on of Joel Bowden by Roy! Oh boy… a season in the making - the Grand Final Edition of DT Talk! We see Roy and Tit-ed exchange very harsh words this week before we get right into it and preview the massive encounter that is destROY vs Tackling Tit-ed! We look at the match ups that matter. After a leagues update (thanks to sportznut.com.au), Albert Lord takes us through the stages of grief that can be associated with losing a DT final. We see exactly what Warnie is going through - including breaking his desk! Our mate who was number one in the world not that long ago, Jonathon - Coach of Collingwood, holds a press conference live from the Lexus Centre as his Dream Team season is over… answering all the tough questions. Find out how Alan Didak, Heath Shaw, the Adelaide Crows, Mick Malthouse, Wayne Schwass and Dreem Time TV ruined his chance at the Big Red Car. Chop’s Chopping Block is finally back with it’s rightful host in one of the best Chop’s yet! This week’s massive episode is kicked off by a former Hawks gun, Ben Dixon - sent in by DRuz. We find out that Roy had the week off, Warnie is through to the Semi Finals and Vin… well Vin has been retired from Dream Team for a few weeks now! After a leagues updates, we hear about Tit-ed’s draw on the weekend and then discuss captain selection… and the extent that Roy went to to get a bit more out of a Jonathan Brown with some shocking results! A much better captain on the weekend would have been the absolute champion from the Hawthorn Football Club, Luke Hodge! We spend a few minutes talking to Hodgey about his Dream Team, his league opponents, tagging Simon Black, Cameron Ling - the Pink Pig and more… We gave Hodgey an official DT Talk Chopper t-shirt and he said he would wear it to bed. See the results of that! If you watched last week’s show, then you would have seen that Chopper Quit in a silent protest. Well, we have an entry for you and boy oh boy… he’s not happy! This is a massive week… Tom Wills Round, First Week of DT Finals and the week that Heath Shaw and Alan Didak were told that they won’t be playing for Collingwood again this year! Cam sends in this weeks entry for the DT Talk Intro Competition… you may have seen him busking on corners near the Bourke Street Mall before! We get into the spirit of the Tom Wills Round with a flashback to the first EVER episode of DT Talk, from 1858. We find that Warnie and Roy are in our final 8, but Vin didn’t make it, and is going to put his worst side possible on the park this week in a massive dummy spit! Now here is a scoop… Warnie and Tit-ed had a few beers with Heath Shaw on Saturday night and we actually have the footage of what happened to Heater and Alan Didak on Sunday night when Heater got behind the wheel and had a car accident while drink driving. Poor old Jonathon (former world #1 in DT) shows some love for Didak, but alas, won’t be for the rest of this season! We cross to the latest AFL Advertisement for the Tom Wills round and also uncover some of the rules he wrote that the AFL haven’t published. Chopper isn’t happy, after missing the 8… and protests! Our travelling friend Noof sends in a video with the love of his life… his Ladyman friend from Thailand to do the intro of the show (get those entries in, the season ends soon!)… We discuss the week that was and see what Warnie has to say to his players at his team meeting and ‘pep’ talk ahead of this weeks do or die game! Heath Shaw, Steve Johnson and Matthew Pavlich all cop a spray! We talk about how Steve Johnson is being ‘unselfish’ and looking to give off assists to his mate Cameron Mooney! Not good DTing! After a leagues update, we see what AFL Dream Team TV with Frank and Dwayne have to say… this time James Hird talks about clangers in DT! WTF? Calvin pumps up his Calvin’s Captains (every Wednesday at www.dreamteamtalk.com) after a great round and hopes that it will help him get the job as Roy’s assistant coach! Albert Lord pops in to help “Vin” who made a bad boo-boo with having two emergencies… ouch! Roy and Warnie aren’t happy with Matthew Pavlich being out as he is the most durable player in the competition… Adam Goodes is the third. Chopper says goodbye to some dickhead who does handstands… Good luck this week in the last of the roster games before finals!
The Pope has been in town this week and he used some of his time at World Youth Day to give a shout out to us! We discuss out scores this week… and yes, Vin is still struggling! Joel Bowden did some great Dream Team work on the weeken in the dying seconds of his game vs Essendon. Mike Sheehan likened it to Trevor Chappell’s underarm delivery… Roy thinks that he would have been able to hit and underarm delivery for six… so he proves it! There is another Dream Team show out there… on the AFL.com.au site every Wednesday. Called something like AFL Dreem Time TV. Anyway, Frank Leach and Dwayne Schwass host it and make some mistakes. In a new segment, we look at some of thier ‘highlights’ - this week some ruck advice! Oh boy… get on it! Roy lets Vin know his fate on whether he can be his assistant coach leading into destROY’s final series. Pope “Eggs” Benedict is back with some words of wisdom - about Dream Team none the less! Chopper doesn’t give the chop to Nick Stevens, he acutally gives him chops… funny stuff! And finally Warnie cracks the shits about being the 2nd ranked DT coach in our league and is likely to miss the 8!
We go back in time and check out Vin Twin’s love for Paul Medhurst from Collingwood… and VT get’s some love back from Medders! 1644 is the magic number this week… that is Calvin’s score! Yes… a pathetic 1644! This results in Vin calling a press conference announcing his resignation as coach of his Dream Team, “Calvinator” (ripping into a few players as he leaves - Matthew Richardson, Nathan Jones, Peter Burgoyne and Michael Johnson). Roy is looking at taking him on board as an assistant coach. After our Leagues Update thanks to Sportznut.com.au, we discuss some of the injuries worries that our teams have… no prizes for guessing who has the most - something like 99 bottles on the ball! Albert Lord pops his head in to go through the Four Step Process for Captain Selection. Warnie is happy about Brent Stanton’s 174, although he didn’t put him as captain. Brent Guerra has his name shamed on Chopper’s Chopping Block… Goo! All that and more in the greatest AFL Dream Team show on the web (as said by Mark on dreamteamtalk.com last week! haha…).
In this week’s episode of DT Talk we pay tribute to our friend in DT, Graham Polak who was tragically hit by a tram last week. He opens the show for us… get well soon big guy! We discuss our scores… Warnie had a massive week, Roy is still ranked pretty high and Vin, umm, well Vin is struggling - with his worst score ever… and carries on a treat about his unluckiness! When we were over in Melbourne, we were lucky enough to go to the Marngrook Footy Show (Thursdays 8pm on Channel 180 on Foxtel/Austar) and get a chance to have a chat to Rockstar Ronnie Burns! He was a champion and we got to talk a little DT… and a fair bit about himself! Good onya Rockstar (not “Rockin”)! We have a mate called Noof who is on a world trip… and in his DT Talk T-Shirt (get one on the website), taking pics in some great locations (Thailand with Ladyboys, with the Pyramids in Egypt and next to funny signs). What has been his biggest highlight, is who he saw at the London Pride (similar to the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras)… words cannot describe our shock, or the hilarity of the pictures! Finally, on Chopper’s Chopping Block, he chops the “most over rated number one draft pick ever”! All that and more… including accusations that Calvin is tanking with his Dream Team! Enjoy!
