With the big Grand Final this week, I plan on going out with a big one. Yep, that’s right - last Calvin’s Captain’s for the year and I have found some nice parting gifts for you. Now, back to the old format this week. Looks as normal, Swan - 124 is what he averages in last 3 Vs opponent and (48%) is how many 100+ games he’s had this year. Very important number for those coaches chasing a consistent gun in the GF. On that, some players are good at getting 99’s and 98’s. They ARE NOT counted in the %, only 100+ are counted! Right DT captain fans with the Preliminary Finals up this week, I have changed the format with more of a focus on the true hard core options this week. Less players analysed, but with more research on the big guns. Just so you are clear on things… averages are on a 3 game basis and the rankings as on ‘averages’ for the year. Last week I had Kane (81), Voldt (126), Ablett (126), Thompson (112) and (88) as my top picks, not great… anyways, good luck this week hope you find something amongst all this shit of hours of reseach!
Righteo! Few good ones here this week, but very very thought week. Did I say VERY VERY tough week - Calvin says “hardest so far!” With the Voldt having a stitches and in some doubt and the Geelong trio playing Sydney in Sydney. Your ‘go to’ captains of late may need a second thought. I’ve got the shit here though, to try and steer you on the right track. The new thing here is in the ‘last time they met’ section, I include how many players scored 100+ in that game. This gives you a great indication whether or not, this weeks game, will be a free flowing high DT scoring game. Check it out!
I said not to Voldt and you still did! Silly silly boys!! Yep the Voldt last week was the incorrect answer as he knocked up a poor 73. Now, if you listened, my boys Geelong boys, Bartel (144) and Corey (129) were the correct answers! 60% of DT Talk viewers had one of them locked in - well done, easy pick really! Buddy made my list for the 1st time in ages and he rocked up an awesome 139. Kane (125) was another one of my top picks and J.B (90) was doing ok, till he only had 8 in the last quarter. Oh and yeah, I’ll talk it up when I get a few right! Lets go again, listen this time lads, good luck!
Hi ho! Well do I have a cracker for you this week. Some guys who have been tearing DT to pieces do not seem to have what it takes this week, so are you willing to take the gamble? I say NO! But there are once again so absolute guns who are here to be picked. Last week Cox 101, Corey 133, Reivoldt 115 and Bartel 147 delivered the goods for good old Vin here as my top picks. Oh, and just in case you are a first time reader (ha yeah right) all averages are worked out on the last 3 games as an average, and the “last time they met” section is just that, only in 2008 though. I hope I find something for everyone here. Enjoy!
Oh here he is! Me! Calvin! he he. Last week was a ripper round for captains. According to the DT Talk poll of 749 people, 51% of people took the Calvin’s advice and cashed in on Cox’s round high of 157 and Pav’s 148! Don’t we love that! My other top picks were Bartel 20% (94pts) and Rievoldt 5% (126pts) and they were certainly no disgrace to their coaches. So listen up lads and I’ll tell ya who to go this week, but it is a little tricky.
WOW! With Mark Thompson say Gary Ablett was ‘no chance’ to suit up this week, it appears that Calvin is here to the rescue! I found some rippers for you here too. But first… have you seen this weeks DT Talk episode? Oh my! Albert Lord gives his hilarious formulas for captain selection. Get on it! This week the numbers look the same with the average worked out over the past three games Vs their opponent. Keep in mind that you will need to check injuries, suspensions and stuff like that as the week progresses. DT Talk is where it is at though!
If I mess up my own selections this week, I will not be doing this captain segment again! Kane, Kane and now Richo have killed me. Richo’s injured 48 was like poison on my already wounded body! Ok, this week it looks like it always does with the average of the player over the last 3 games Vs their opponent. Grab yourself a Bundy, kick back and enjoy!
With the round only part way though, I thought I’d spend a little time this week, looking over the 6 games played so far. According to the DT Talk “Captains Poll” where 745 people voted, Matthew Pavlich was selected as the most common captain this week along with Ablett at 32% each.
