Roy’s Trade and Rolling 22 Talk – Rd. 16

Roy updates his Rolling 22 and has a look at some under priced trade targets.

Get them in:

Hamish Hartlett (DEF, $548,000)
The Power defender missed the start of the season due to injury but has now strung the three games together following their bye with his most recent the most impressive. He had a heap of the ball collecting 29 possessions and seven marks for his season high 112. He has a nice break even of just 65 and is nice and unique with an ownership of 1%.

Zak Jones (DEF, $545,000)
The Swan hard nut has been enjoying playing through the middle of the ground and his scoring has reflected that more often than not. Since returning from injury in round 14, Jones has been more than serviceable as a defender with scores of 101 and 97 with 25 possessions, seven marks, four tackles and a goal in his last. He has a break even of 75 and is a viable option for coaches needing an under priced defender to remove a rookie off their ground.

Rowan Marshall (RUC/FWD, $684,000)
With Max Gawn no certainty to play this week, and under priced and form ruck is the way to go. Enter, Saint break out player Rowan Marshall. He has been on fire with a five game average of 111 which include four straight triple figure scores and an impressive 121 against the Tigers. Within the next three games he faces the Cats and Dogs rucks who shouldn’t pose many problems for the big fella who has a break even of 10%. The bonus of Marshall over someone like Riley O’Brien is that he can be moved forward when you want Max back.

Dustin Martin (FWD/MID, $733,000)
Is in some sort of form and as a result comes at a cost, but it is one worth paying up for. He flicked a switch in round nine and hasn’t looked back since with six straight triple figure scores which include a nice ceiling of 135, 140 and 128 in his last. He should have a field day this week against the Suns to blow his BE of 81 out of the water.

Connor Blakely (DEF, $561,000)
Has bottomed out in price, dropping $103 since his round nine season debut. He has certainly been a bit up and down since then but knocked up his first triple figure score on the weekend with 103 despite having just five points at quarter time. He recovered from the slow start and had plenty of opportunities through the middle to end up with 31 possessions, five marks and four tackles to give him a BE of 78.

James Sicily (DEF, $573,000)
Sicily was back in defence but unfortunately it wasn’t enough to snap him out of his rut. He backed up last weeks 44 with a disappointing 59 for his 15% of frustrated coaches. He has dropped $121,000 and has a BE of 132. Personally, I would actually hold him and am eyeing him off as a cheap upgrade once he finds form.

My Trades

At this stage my trades Max to Marshall and Daniel to Jones.
