Roy’s Trade Talk – Rd 7

Roy’s Trade Talk has dropped! Make sure you jump in the comments section and discuss your ideas.

Chopping block:

Jobe Watson (MID, $505,000) had his second bad game in three weeks, failing to reach 50 after collecting just 13 possessions and laying one tackle for 48. He dropped 30K this week and jusding from what I saw, he won’t be getting anywhere near that. The time is right to move him on, regardless of if he gets rested.

Alex Neale Bullen (FWD/MID, $451,000) produced just his second score under 90, so owners shouldn’t be as angry as there were… Although I must admit a score of 31 was a hard wake up call that he isn’t a premium. As far as a trade goes, he has a BE of 91, so it’s a good time to trade, however, I wouldn’t panic as he plays the Hawks this week and they are giving up a heap.

Jarryd Roughead (FWD, $393,000) has started dropping in price, and it’s no wonder after scores of 56, 67 and 69 in his last three, with latter a massive save after sitting on 28 at 3 quarter time. He has a break even of 71 and isn’t covering the ground well at the minute. A trade is the best option.

Toby Nankervis (RUC, $472,000) has been rubbed out for the week which leaves us in an awkward position. If you have him sitting forward, I would hold given his three round average of 99 and break even of just 50. If you are like me and have him in the ruck, it may be a forced trade unless I can swing some DPP and turn Roughy to Grundy.

In The Mix

Isaac Heeney (FWD, $ 443,000) scored 120 26 touches with an impressive role including the second most centre bounces attended for the swans. We all had him in the preseason for a reason and he should be great again this week if you like some instant reward.

Dan Hannebery (MID, $534,000) is one mans trash, but after dropping $121Ksince the start of the season, he is certainly a tempting prospect for that price. He is coming of a solid ton vs the Blues and has a mouth watering draw leading up to the bye. High risk, high reward.

MOO

Harley Balic (FWD/MID, $ 220,000) comes at an inflated price after an impressive 91 where he made plenty of contributions across the board. With cash generation hard to come by, it may be worth paying the extra dollars for job security and ceiling.

Keep an eye on David Myers (MID $197,000) who is coming off another impressive performance in the VFL and the timing couldn’t be better with plenty of Bombers under performing. Like Balic, Expensive, but worth it.

Ruck upgrade:

If you need a ruck upgrade this week, I have Stef Martin (RUC, $614,000) ranked number one unless the pies drop mason cox. Brodie Grundy (RUC, $616,000) scores 20 less points per game with cox in the team. If the Pies play without Cox, Grundy takes the cake. These are the only two I am interested in.

In a few words:

Gary Ablett (MID, $645,000) BE: 62: Back to his best, but wait until after his bye
Sam Docherty (DEF, $627,000) BE: 64: Must have (Be wary of stacked bye)
Rory Sloane (MID, $720,000) BE: 89: Rob a bank

My trades at this stage:
Using DPP
Nank to Grundy
Rough to Myers
