NBL Dream Team: Round 15 Preview

It was a mixed round for most as for the first time this year AJ didn’t score big on the double. It’s unlikely to happen again but there are plenty of big scorers playing the double this week to boost our scores.

It was a mixed round for most as for the first time this year AJ didn’t score big on the double. It’s unlikely to happen again but there are plenty of big scorers playing the double this week to boost our scores.

Reviewing Round 14

Round 14 Champions

Cameron Gliddon only just beat out Kevin Lisch (92) for best scorer and they were closely followed by Kirk Penny (88). However Torey Craig (76) was the only other player to post a big double, with the 5th best scorer being Daniel Johnson (58) from just one game. Larry Davidson (52) was second best for value with Gliddon coming third.

Round 14 Disasters

The sub-par return of Markel Starks (14) also served to keep Shaun Bruce (24) from another big score. Marcus Thornton (2) continued his struggles, while the Jermaine Beal (10) cold path continues and he is losing money at an incredible rate.

Get Ready for Round 15

Round 15 Premium TT

These five stars are the ones most likely to make significant money this week, so if they’re in your trade plans then you probably want them now rather than later. Otherwise you should be looking at New Zealand players who play four doubles in these last five rounds. Charles Jackson and Cedric Jackson are both as cheap as you’d expect them to be for the rest of the year.

Round 15 Bargain TT

Both Tim Coenraad and Kevin White have shown plenty of scoring potential at times this year and generally take full advantage when Illawarra is playing well. Leon Henry and Mirko Djeric on the other hand are part of a Townsville team which is incredibly cheap overall and you can’t be sure where the points will come from. Both have shown hints of consistency lately though. Ebi Ere can’t get much cheaper and is now the best minimum price option, particularly with Adelaide having a run of four doubles to finish the season.

Round 15 Captains

No matter how rough the round that AJ Ogilvy just finished it would take a very brave coach to select someone else as captain. However, this week showed it is a genuine opportunity to gain some points, the big question is will he have two quiet weeks in a row?

This week there are four teams with the double matches and they pair off nicely as they all play home and away doubles, with Cairns vs Melbourne and Illawarra vs New Zealand. Consider how you think your players are going to match up against the opposition in two games, particularly given that many of us now have more than two good options in some positions from these teams. This is particularly important in the guards, where Kevin Lisch is the only lock and players like Corey Webster, Cedric Jackson, Chris Goulding, Stephen Holt, and even Cameron Gliddon could all go big or fall quiet.
