It has been reported today that the Gold Coast Suns will have the bye in the first round of the 2011 season.

What does this mean for Dream Team?

A lot!

What it will mean is that the Gold Coast players won’t be scoring for us in Round 1 and most of these are likely to be bench players anyway. So the important thing is that we will need to make sure all of our starters are playing for the first week (unlike holding Buddy this year through his Rd 1 suspension).

We will face a challenge selecting our Gold Coast players in our initial squad because we won’t know what their inaugural team will be.

A positive thing is that if they are having a bye in Round 1, then their next bye shouldn’t be until a few weeks away – enough time for our cash cows to mature!
