VFL
St Kilda (Sandringham)
Tom Hickey (RUC, $502K) continued his impressive form with 27 touches and 48 hitouts. He moves his season averages to142 after 148 points on the weekend. Blake Acres (FWD/MID, $584K) made his return from a groin injury with 31 touches and 8 tackles for 120 points. As an owner who started with him, he averaged 89 which was lowered due to an injury-affected game. I’d be chasing the top 6 FWD’s over him. Hugh Goddard (DEF, $170K) was solid in defence with 20 touches, 6 marks and 75 points. He is nearing a debut I reckon. Nathan Freeman (MID, $170K) was solid in a draw for the Dragons, and had 25 touches for 70 points. A good chance to come in this week. Nick Coffield (DEF/MID, $363K) was pretty poor again, with only 43 points from 11 touches.
North Melbourne
Brayden Preuss (RUC, $445K) had 71 hitouts and 19 touches for 148 points. He could be in contention to come in for Zurhaar who injured his foot. He averages 102 from 12 VFL games. Luke Davies-Uniacke (MID, $259K) was quite good and is getting closer to a call up. He had 18 touches and 10 tackles for 91 points. Ben McKay (DEF/FWD, $201K) was one of the Roos best with 13 touches and 5 tackles for 57 points. He could be another one who could come in for Zurhaar but we would have to see Majak Daw move forward. Nick Larkey (FWD, $170K) could come in for Zurhaar, which would be more of a straight swap. He only had 3 touches for 17 points, in what was a hard day for forwards, as they were kept goalless.
Melbourne (Casey)
Dropped Demon Dom Tyson (MID, $512K) responded well with 31 touches and 15 tackles for 145 points. This isn’t the first time he’s been dropped. He averages 134 from the 4 games he’s Tomas Bugg (FWD, $457K) continues to produce the goods in the twos. He had 31 touches and 11 tackles for 128 points. Oskar Baker (FWD, $176K) was rumoured to play last week but didn’t. He had 21 touches for 78 points and could come in at some stage. Tim Smith (FWD, $353K) was pretty disappointing with only 16 touches and 59 points.
Western Bulldogs (Footscray)
Mitch Honeychurch (FWD, $453K) put his hand up for selection after 27 touches and 7 marks for 110 points. Lewis Young (DEF, $328K) was very solid in defence, with 20 touches, 13 marks and 104 points. Tim English (RUC/FWD, $425K) made his return from injury with 7 touches, 4 marks, 4 tackles, a goal ad 6 hitouts for 57 points. He is still somehow owned by 24% of coaches.
Hawthorn (Box Hill)
Brendon Whitecross (FWD, $477K) was solid with 28 touches, 9 marks and 6 tackles for 119 points. Mitch Lewis (FWD, $173K) was also good with 3.3, 16 touches and 111 points. Mark Pittonet (RUC, $196K) was solid with 11 touches, 5 tackles and 24 hitouts for 61 points. He could come in for McEvoy who fractured his cheek. They could also just use Roughead int he ruck, and Lewis comes in as the tall forward.
Collingwood Magpies
Callum Brown (FWD/MID, $385K) was the top scorer with 27 touches, 10 tackles and kicked 1.3 for 120 points. Josh Smith (DEF, $557K) was great good as well with 22 touches and 3 goals for 114 points. Adam Oxley (DEF, $344K) was great again and is in some nice form. He had 25 touches and 7 marks for 93 points. He’s averaging 85 points. Sam Murray (DEF, $495K) didn’t play last week so I assume he was a traveling emergency.
Essendon Bombers
Sam Draper (RUC, $170K) was the top scorer with 114 points from 42 hitouts and 15 touches. He’s only averaging 65 points from 12 games though. Dylan Clarke (FWD/MID, $181K) was good as well with 27 touches and 7 tackles for 103. He’s a good chance to come in this week, with Ambrose and Stringer, and Myers out. Darcy Parish (MID/FWD, $488K) made his return with 31 touches for 91 points. He could come in as well. Jordan Ridley (DEF, $256K) was good with 19 touches and 6 marks for 77 points.
Richmond Tigers
Liam Baker (FWD, $170K) was great, the top scorer in fact. He had 24 touches and 2 goals, for 104 points. He could come in for Butler, but would have to fight against Bolton for that position. Fellow forward Shai Bolton (FWD, $230K) was good as well with 22 touches, 1.2 and 8 tackles for 101. Patrick Naish (FWD/MID, $204K) was sold with 21 touches and 7 marks for 76 points. Dan Butler, Graham and Broad are all out, so Naish could actually get a run.
Geelong Cats
George Horlin-Smith (MID, $453K) was huge with 41 touches, 2 goals and 7 tackles for 147 points. Zac Smith (RUC, $514K) was huge with 24 touches and 40 hitouts for 129 points. Charlie Constable (MID, $200K) was solid with 31 touches, 7 marks and 7 tackles for 116 points. Jackson Thurlow (DEF/MID, $412K) could be the replacement for Harry Taylor who is injured. He scored 97 points from 24 touches and 8 marks.
SANFL
Adelaide Crows
Pat Wilson (MID/FWD, $185K) was great after a 104 last week and followed up with a 134 this week. He had 31 touches, 9 marks and a goal. He could be in consideration for Richard Douglas. Lachlan Murphy (DEF/FWD, $295K) was solid with 25 touches and 6 marks for 97 points. Riley Knight (FWD, $433K) was solid with 18 touches and 6 marks for 81 points. A bit quiet in the magoos for the Crows.
Port Adelaide
Karl Amon (MID, $411K) was the top scorer with 112 points, from 27 touches, 7 marks and 6 tackles. Jake Neade (FWD, $348K) was solid with 14 touches and 15 tackles for 102 points. A fair effort with 15 tackles. Cameron Hewett (DEF, $170K) was decent and is averaging 76 this year. He scored 99 points from 22 touches, 1 goal and 8 tackles. He could be a sneaky chance for Tom Jonas’ spot but I wouldn’t be counting on it.
WAFL
Fremantle Dockers (Peel)
Danyle Pearce (FWD, $478) was good again with 29 touches and 7 tackles for 122 points. He’s averaging 104 points in the WAFL this year when he’s been dropped. Luke Strnadica (RUC, $170K) was solid with 13 touches, 1 goal, 5 marks, 4 tackles and 15 hitouts for 89 points. Taylin Duman (DEF, $259K) was quite good with 21 touches and 85 points. Harley Bennell (FWD, $249K) was a little bit down on last week with 13 touches and 4 tackles for 52 points.
NEAFL
Sydney Swans
Colin O’Riordan (DEF, $170K) I have been harping on about him all year, and he’s had another good game to help my case. He had 37 touches, 11 marks and 2 goals for 159 points. He could come in for McVeigh, which would be a pretty fantasy-friendly role with Jake Lloyd back there. Darcy Cameron (RUC, $170K) was very good with 27 touches, 8 marks and 32 hitouts for 146 points. He averages 128 points from 12 games. Nic Newman (MID, $521K) was very good and is almost a sure thing to come in for either Hannebery, McVeigh of Jack. He had 37 touches and 7 marks for 128. Harrison Marsh (DEF, $340K) isn’t known as much of a fantasy scorer, but had 127 points after having 101 points the week before. He had 33 touches and 9 marks.
GWS
Matt Buntine (DEF, $247K) can’t seem to get a string of games together in the AFL but is getting the job done in the NEAFL. He had 28 touches and 8 marks to top score with 110 points. Matthew Flynn (FWD/RUC, $170K) was also good with 12 touches and 41 hitouts for 90 points. Aidan Bonar (DEF/MID, $250K) is getting very close to a debut, after being named last week on the extended bench. He had 16 touches and 10 tackles for 88 points. Lachlan Keeffe (FWD/DEF, $253K) was solid with 14 touches and a goal for71 points.
Brisbane Lions
Ryan Bastinac (MID, $536K) was good once again, with 36 touches and 12 marks for 143 points. Sam Mayes (DEF, $431K) was also good with 27 touches, 9 marks and 7 tackles for 128 points. I find it hard for either of these blokes to get a game this week, with the Lions coming off two good wins. Corey Lyons (MID/FWD, $170K) was good and has been all season. He had 27 touches, 10 marks and a goal for 124 points. Hopefully he can be a good, mature aged option next year. Brandon Starcevich (FWD/MID, $236K) is close to a debut, having been named on the extended bench a couple of times. He had 21 touches and 7 tackles for 92 points.
Top 4:
- Colin O’Riordan (DEF, $170K)
- Nathan Freeman (MID, $170K)
- Ryan Abbott (RUC, $170K)
- Dylan Clarke (FWD/MID, $181K)
