Draft Game

The Stream Team – Round 3

MattyFaz joins us for the all-important streamers in Draft this week.

Hello, everybody. My sincerest gratitude goes out to the DT Talk fanbase for welcoming me with opening arms during my first week writing for the site (and what a week I had – more on that later). We are still amidst these shitty early bye rounds thanks to that poxy Opening Round, so streaming in your draft leagues is still probably a must for most of us! You salary-cappers know what streaming is by now, right?

Anyway, the purpose of this article is to suggest one-week streaming options for draft leagues. Each week, I compile a team of lowly owned players (<40% ownership) that are worthy of a one-week pick-up-and-play, helping you fill any gaps you may have in your starting squads.

But first, let’s see how I went last round:

HITS

Bodhi Uwland (133 AF/122 SC) – oh me oh my, what a way to ingratiate myself amongst my new fanbase!* The inaugural DT Talk Shoe-in of the Week went fucking BOOM, and if you know me, you know I’m always chasing that boom.  Uwland’s role looked scrumptious on the weekend, and if you can, you should hold him through his bye as there is keeper potential here.

*middle-aged men on X who call me names when my barely educated guesses go wrong.

Jase Burgoyne (92 AF/105 SC) – this was easy money against the Bombers. With that said, I”d be holding him if you picked him up, especially because Rozee is set to miss time.

Willem Drew (92 AF/106 SC) – he also got the Essendon bump, but with Rozee missing time, could be a handy M5-7.

Ben King (89 AF/106 SC) – there’s a little BOOM for your forward line! He’s more of an SC guy, but when the opposition is crap, he’s fine to use and abuse for a week.

Josh Treacy (110 AF/125 SC) – now there’s the BOOM! Treacy looked like peak Wayne Carey on the weekend and Richmond to come, he’s a must hold.

Joe Richards (105 AF/122 SC) – and that’s 3/3 massive hits from my forward line tips last week. Tell me there’s a better stream suggester in fantasy footy? (Don’t worry, I’ll crash down to earth ASAP).

AFL 2026 Round 02 - Richmond v Gold Coast - A-65877652

MISSES

Finn O’Sullivan (48 AF/42 SC) – well I didn’t see that result coming… you can drop Finn for now.

One miss and a bunch of big hits? This is why I got the gig here at DT Talk, ladies and gentleman, but I’m not one to coast on past success. I want even more BOOM this week, and you know I’ll work my ass off (LOL) to make it happen.

Here are the lowly owned players that I like as stream targets for Round 3 (ownership % taken from AFL Fantasy):

DEFENDERS

Charlie Comben (19%) vs. Essendon – defenders are just gorging themselves against the the Bombers right now; just take a look at what the Port boys did to them last week (even Aliir Aliir). Comben popped for a 90+ score in round 1, so you know he can do it. Add to that the Essendon bump and you’ve got yourself some BOOM potential right here.

Heath Chapman (2%) vs. Richmond – from the start of his career, I thought Chapman was going to be like his namesake, Paul – maybe not as good of a fantasy player, but at least fantasy relevant. Well so far, I’ve been wrong. But I still believe he has some chops and with a juicy matchup this week, I love him as a streamer in deep leagues.

Oli Hollands (19%) vs Melbourne – I can’t say that Hollands thrills me as a pick, but that numbers support this play. Running wing/half-backers like it against the Dees and right now, the game is suiting this kind of player. I like that Carlton are fresh off the bye and that Melbourne are travelling from Perth too.

AFL 2026 Round 02 - West Coast v North Melbourne - A-65928118

MIDFIELDERS

Willem Drew (39%) – I’m going back to the Willem well here, one of my favourite wells to stream from, to be honest. He’s got a fantastic matchup this week and with Rozee on the sidelines, could get a nice little bump in his scoring for a while.

Cooper Lord (22%) vs. Melbourne – Melbourne are a neutral matchup for inside midfielders right now, so this tip doesn’t scream BOOM potential. However, I reckon Melbourne will be a team we are targeting for streams very soon, as soon as Round 3, in fact. Lord has looked really good in his role so far this season, and I’m not too worried about Cerra’s return for now.

Matt Johnson (11%) vs. Richmond – if you’ve read this article over the last couple of years, you’ll know that MJ is MY BOY. Yes, I totally believe he has the chops, but has thus far been capped by the Freo playing style and a less than ideal role in a stacked midfield. With that said, he plays the Tiges this week, and they’re giving it up like an inebriated prom queen at the after party right now, so I’m confident he can do something worthwhile.

Tom Blamires (15%) vs. Essendon – he didn’t hit big last week, but West Coast were shockingly good. Now we’ve seen what Essendon are allowing at the moment, especially when it comes to defenders, and that’s where Blamires is currently playing. I’m double-dipping on him because he’s shown good scoring capacity in the early parts of the season and has a matchup we can’t ignore.

AFL 2026 Round 01 - Geelong v Fremantle - A-65763609

RUCK

Darcy Fort (29%) vs. St Kilda – the Saints are a plus matchup for rucks, so I reckon Fort could bink you an 80 odd here. And believe me, there ain’t too many other ruckman on your waiver wires that are even worth a thought.

FORWARDS

Will Hayward (8%) vs. Melbourne – I’ve always rated Hayward as a fantasy guy, and believe he can hold SOME value this year. The real Melbourne revealed themselves last week, and I reckon Hayward is a sneaky good stream against them.

Jack Lukosius (27%) vs. West Coast – 3 goals, 10 marks and even a sprinkling of tackles (3) – now that’s a fantasy stat line to return with. Yes, it was Essendon, but Luko has the Eagles this week and their bubble will burst faster than you can say ‘Tim Kelly is a top 20 forward this year’ (that’s for you Stevie Fizz, if you’re reading).

Josh Treacy (38%) vs. Richmond – the BOOM potential here is prodigious, as Treacy has looked sensational so far this year and has a lamentable Tigers outfit on deck. He’s pretty highly owned, so either get him on field immediately or make sure he’s not on your wire. Cyclone Treacy is the Shoe-in of the Week, and he simply WILL NOT disappoint.

Alrighty, that’s all there is from me this week. It will be hard to top Bodhi’s Shoe-in score from last round, but hey, at least I got one off early for y’all. I thought the byes made this article relevant at this time of year – turns out it’s the modern game-style and the hamstring hell we seem to be in. All the best with your streams this week, kiddies.

I like draft-style fantasy footy, frisbess and the Simpsons.

What do I do with Colby McKercher? Drafted him around pick 50 but he’s been nowhere near it.
