Later drop of this article isn’t terrible (despite lack of content and whipped up in about 30 mins) as I can include the Sunday teams.
There isn’t much to report except that Jack Ziebell is in NM’s 22. Jack Billings and Liam Stocker have been omitted from the Saints’ line up. Just Max King coming back in meaning Jack Hayes and Tim Membrey are emergencies still. Anyone wanting Kai Lohmann as their emergency, he’s been dropped.
Also … if you missed it, Touk Miller misses this week through his squirrel grip suspension. You have to move a one-week suspension at this time of the year. Another thing to note is that Port made a few changes, as below.
The AFL wishes to advise that Charlie Dixon (Injured) and Kane Farrell (Illness) have withdrawn from the Port Adelaide AFL team for Saturday’s Round 21 match against Geelong Cats to be played at GMHBA Stadium.
Ollie Lord and Francis Evans come into the 22. Jase Burgoyne and Hugh Jackson have been added to the emergencies.
The other Port news worth noting, Scott Lycett has been booked in for surgery. That makes Dante Visentini the ‘must-have’ rookie this week (weird to say… maybe ‘rookie of choice’). Bench cover and only $205k.
Ranking players to trade out
Plenty of coaches are trying to prioritise players to move on and I’ve compiled the most common to make a bit of a list. Here’s my order on who to dump. Obviously teams are different and price points may dictate what the best move is (ie. maybe you stick with someone because the premium you’re getting for them isn’t that much better due to not being able to afford a big dog).
Anyway – let’s get into it…
1. Callum Mills – I might be blinded, and his $660k is a tricky thing (what I was talking about above), but he has to go. The role is all over the place. He’s playing all over the ground and this week with Dane Rampe out, maybe he’s behind the ball … but in a bad way as he might have to play defensively.
2. Ben Keays – 0% CBAs last week, 26% the week before – Matt Crouch being in has hurt that … Keays had 82% the week before.
3. Harry Himmelberg – Not putting up the numbers we expected. Needs to go up to one of the top 6 type players, or across to a Sam Flanders type. I’d be ok to go to Luke Jackson also.
4. Marcus Windhager – Honestly should be going before HH, but that BE and some may be able to loop him on with that worst MID or FWD on field earlier (I am doing it with HH again funnily enough).
I’d be moving all those guys before Lachie Neale, but I am totally ok with move him with the threat of upcoming tags. It might be jumping at shadows, but worth doing IF you’re getting that Parish/Merrett/Dunkley type for him. I flirted with moving him ahead of others due to cash reasons, but I think I need to keep him.
Warne Dawgs – Round 21
Mills has to go, but his price sucks. I considered getting rid of Neale as well to go down to Josh Kelly and then Mills up to Matt Crouch, but they aren’t really moves that give me much faith.
Hewett down to Nankervis still leaves me with a playing emergency, but also the cash to get Mills to Flanders … which then would see me dump HH next week for a midfielder by flicking Flanders to F6.
ROUND 21 TRADES
Callum Mills > Sam Flanders
Elijah Hewett > Luke Nankervis
Cash left: $68k
ROUND 21 CAPTAINS
Tim English VC

AFLW Fantasy has launched
It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea (and people like to let others know that … if you’re one of them, just watch this), but if you’re keen to have a crack at the 10-week competition which will start when the AFL Fantasy season finishes, head to aflwfantasy.afl. You can join the league set up for the Podcast I am doing with Gemma Bastiani from AFL.com.au. A $49,000 Toyota Corolla Cross is up for grabs. Might as well be in it to win it … especially if you rate yourself as a Fantasy expert.

I’ll be producing plenty of content on womens.afl and the AFLW app. I’ll whack up any new articles on my Twitter and also the podcast can be listened to via Spotify or Apple Podcasts. Listen below to episode 1.
Don’t forget we have our Patreon pumping along! From $5 a month you can be watching our flagship Sunday night live stream once the final game finishes.
