Zero Hanger’s round 10 injury wrap

The team at ZeroHanger have the latest injury news.

Collingwood veteran Daniel Wells went down in the third quarter of his side’s win over Sydney on Friday night with a knee injury and there were fears it could have spelt the end of his career. However, the 34-year old has opted against surgery and is hoping to return to the field later in the season.

Swans duo Josh Kennedy (knee) and George Hewett (concussion) also got hurt on Friday night and John Longmire confirmed on Monday that Kennedy would likely miss the next three weeks.

Port midfielder Tom Rockliff looks set for a stint on the sidelines after hurting his hamstring against the Hawks down in Tasmania on Saturday. The ball magnet tried to return to the game in hope that it was just cramp but was ultimately iced up. Scans will determine the severity of Rockliff’s injury, who is unlikely to take part in his side’s annual China clash this weekend against the Saints.

Hawthorn recruit Jack Scrimshaw hurt his knee in the Power clash and would be considered doubtful to take on the Lions at the Gabba this Saturday night.

Adelaide’s Tom Lynch was a late scratch from his side’s clash with West Coast due to a hamstring tackle, but the club are hopeful that he will be available for their upcoming meeting with the Demons in Darwin.

Essendon’s injury woes went from bad to worse after Jake Stringer and Dylan Shiel were both iced up in the Dreamtime at the ‘G clash with hamstring problems. They are set to join Devon Smith and Joe Daniher on the sidelines, meaning the Bombers could be without arguably four of their top five players when they meet the Blues on Sunday afternoon.

Rising Sun Ben Ainsworth went down with an ankle issue in his side’s loss Geelong on Saturday night. The youngster attempted to return to the contest but was unable to overcome the injury.
