OMG… How Disgusting
Chop here to vent some anger over some under-performing players. In this weeks post there are some players that are playing under injury clouds, which in my opinion is just stupid and selfish play. I have no doubt that if you are injured and you remove yourself from the team, Dream Team coaches would be happy to take the emergency but to play, and play like crap is not acceptable. Below is a list of the biggest under-performers from the round, and if they are in your team they should be fairly and squarely on your chopping block.
Jonathan Brown- OMG…. 38pts….Ben Warren outscored you by 31pts, and he hates the football and does everything he can to avoid it. Now don’t get me wrong I love the big brown dog and I have been singing his praises all year because he is a champion. Why on earth would you play against Melbourne of all teams when it was clear that you were moving as well as Dane Swan in calipers? Go away, give yourself a chance to recover, get your Mrs to give it a rub for you so we can all move on and be mates again. Seriously Browny, nobody is going to trade you, for fear of running into down a dark alley but don’t be selfish and don’t be that sh*t ever again.
Cyril Rioli- After scores of 71 and 130 in the first 2 rounds, a lot of DT coaches around this great brown land of ours would have thought, 2010 is the year. Unfortunately Cyril, Cyril Rioli has resorted to simply tapping the ball out in front of himself like he is trying to herd a butterflies into his bug catcher (bit weird, but use your imagination). Someone need to pull this future Brownlow Medalist aside and tell him that that is acceptable if your name is Presty but not if you want to stay in peoples Dream Teams…. I love the guy but what a disappointment he has been. Oh yeah, and Ben Warren outscored you by 17pts…. C’mon
Brendon Goddard- I can remember watching this guy play last week and saying to the boys that this guy is a dead set champion. Only to flick the I-Phone on, during dinner (under the table) to see that our mate Brendon was moving as quickly as a women’s hockey match. He is still a champion but you did let a lot of people down this week. You are still my favourite ranga running around in the AFL but don’t ever do it to us again. Oh yeah… you do realise that Warren outscored you too. C’mon!
Steve Johnson- If there is not a story in the next few weeks about Steve Johnson going out and smashing the piss then there should be. Steve can not be going home from games happy that he is contributing, and if this continues to happen a big bender that involves an altercation with an Indian Cab Driver is not far away. “Oh but Chop… I had 103 last week and kicked 6 goals.” Exactly my point you little twat, if you have to kick 6 goals to get 100 then you better get the hell out of my teams. Oh yeah… and Ben Warren just about doubled your score… Wazza is twice the player you are! Ouch
Robbie Gray- I know of a few DT Coaches that have sat on this guy (not literally) waiting for him to come back and fulfil his potential. After missing the first 3 rounds and then only scraping together a 65 and 52 you should give yourself an uppercut. Offload this guy before he contaminates the your whole team. I’m sick of doing the math so if someone can work out how much more Warren scored than the Robstar, then that would be appreciated.

Not likely. Maybe 5 or so. It really depends on his form though, if he is getting 3 goals a week, putting pressure on (which will be a key indicator under Harveys watch) and the team keeps winning he could play out the rest of the year as Headland’s career is basically finished. However, I reckon he will make way for others such as Zac Clarke, Ben Buccovitz, Dylan Roberton, and as a very, very unlikely smokey Casey Sibisado. They will want to have a look at these guys and give em a run in the seniors so while it’s anyones guess, id suggest No, fyfe will play between 4-7 games this year.
Yeh Roberton will def get games!! Also Palmer will come in. Will need to play well to keep his spot.

Expect him to get a lot more games but he may get rested at the end of the season

Fair enough this is a forum and people ask questions, but serioulsy mate you pretty much ask the same question over and over…. how bout using the net and other media for research and make your own mind up. For the record, no I doubt he will get a game. Will be a good rook selection for 2011 though.

Hey Leroy your a freo man (by the looks of your profile pic) What do you reckon about silvagni, I’m tossing up whether to jump on the Phil Davis bandwagon as I’m not sure how much longer Silvagni can stay on the senior list. I could make some nice cash in the next couple of weeks, but how long can he stay in the seniors with grover, thornton etc… expected off the LTI in the next couple of weeks. I reckon if he was able to stay the year he would end up giving me 80 every week but I reckon I should downgrade to the 70 ave of davis who is about to play his third game, what do you reckon? Hang on or ditch sivagni

Silvagni will play a fair bit this season he is on the senior list as far as i know
Thornton is not a player i would pick ahead of Silvagni thats for sure!
Grover will come back in when fit! but both still not expected to be back for at least 3 weeks if not more to get back fit!
but it is something to think about but i would imagine Silvagni’s job security might be a little better that Davis
Is that right, silvagni is on the senior list for the year? I thought regardless of when they play that when grover, thornton etc return to full health that silvagni has to by the laws of the game return to the rookie list, making him inelegable to play…. hmmm something to think about. Yeah normally I would be worried about davis job security but I reckon the crows will be under pressure to play the kids if they lose the next couple of games and finals become out of reach.

I watched on the couch tonight and he said the senior players of Adelaide will only get dropped if there not performing! and dosnt Stevens have to come back as well as Bock? so im thinking if the seniors are there in the team Davis will struggle!

Yeah looks like Silvagni is going back to the WAFL in a few weeks. While the dockers have the option of the mid season upgrade – Deboer, Van Berlo, and Pearce are also in contention for that spot. 4 players one spot, not good for Scos despite his consistaint good form. Deboer is the front runner for the upgrade, he would have had barlows full year upgrade if he wasnt injured at the beginning of the year.
As Door Knob correctly pointed out Davis has solid form at the mo, and the coach is happy…. I can see myself pulling the trigger on this one come Friday afternoon.

I think it’s true about him going back to the rookie list, but he will be upgraded mid season as he is the best rookie on their list. Thorton surely has to get delisted as he is possibly the worst AFL player. Grover will most likely play in the forward line again too. Davis i think wont play as many games and Silvagni scores great!

Hunt has only increased by $58,400, which is not enough for me to trade him. I figure I’ll keep in on the bench as guaranteed cover for the rest of the year (unless he strings a few good games together and goes up another $50k, which is unlikely). There are plenty of other cash cows to milk first.
Given his price if you down grade him to a rook your gona make 125-145k that sems plenty for the milking in my eyes i reckon i am going to off load him to davis this week and turn danger into didak

Hunt to Hargraves is not an upgrade, its a downgrade. I don’t see any form in him to warrant a trade, that’s why he’s cheap.
Hargrave started the season at 400k he’s a premium back, i have no doubt he will come good at some stage just need to wait for that to happen, meanwhile his price slides further and further he has been injured in 2 of the games he has played will be dirt cheap in a couple of rounds….

Possible third option would be to upgrade Mcveigh to Didak and then position swap Didak with Ziebell and put Ziebell on the midfield bench. I just can’t decide which of Mcveigh and Henderson are going to improve throughout the season.
I feel your pain and thought he might be a real surprise packet this year as he looked revitalised and ready to go… but in watching the Bombers play on Sunday, I have made the decision to ditch McVeigh this week,. This is why, and may help you with your decision too:
He’s old and looks to be struggling with the pace of the game a bit. Won’t ever be a run through the lines type player again.
He was given a very defensive job on Davis (which he did well), but seems as though he’ll be used in that role more from now on (partly due to his lack of pace/fitness I suspect, but mosty due to the fact that the Bombers struggle to get anyone with good disposal coming out of the back half).
Finally, he has scored me 102 points in the first 5 weeks of the season, and now faces a b/e of close to 100. For a $260k player to lose you money on the first price change is a bad sign.
I think what i’ll do is trade him out for a rookie this week before I make a loss on him, and upgrade to one of Hayes, Gibbs, Swan, Selwood in the next week or two when they bottom out. Of course this is purely my opinion and he may come good in a few weeks and prove me wrong, but I’m sick of covering for him so it’s time to set you free McVeigh… with a bullet.

I have HMac and Hille as my rucks…I want Cox but Hille is doing too well to be traded and HMac isn’t doing bad enough to warrant the sideways move.

As I said above, Hille will have a VERY low b/e this week, give him another couple of weeks before trading. Cox will go back up in price, but unless he starts scoring 150′s you’ll still make more money from Hille in the next 2-3 weeks. That’s wjat I’ll be doing.
