The Weekend Wash-Up | Fantasy Malpractice | Round 11

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand it’s gone. Read on for total fantasy malpractice.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand it’s gone. Incredible effort to take 10 weeks before I completely butchered my side. It’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the weekend wash-up!

LEGENDS

Dawson (131) – The easiest top trade target of all time following his bye, and just reward for his owners who stuck by him! Legend.

Milera (106) – Wayne just gets it done, he might be a borderline top 6 target following his early bye!

Merrett (148) – A no brainer trade target last week and I refused to do it, Zach did his thing and dominated the Tigers as always. Be wary of the Hough tag this week, but with Essendon’s injuries you can expect bulk midfield time!

Parish (129) – Loves a medal does Darcy… This all feels wrong given they just lost to Richmond, but Parish now has a L5 of 100… Just saying.

Short (122) – He’s averaging 100, I have to give him his dues! I’m still not interested.

Retschko (106) – My legend of the week, Retschko got a deserving rising start nomination for his performance and was robbed of the medal by Kelly! This kick starts his cash gen into another gear and he could be a hero during the byes. Gun!

Roberts (106) – Archie is a legend for having the balls to try and outdo the loopy handball one-two play with the grubber shank kick to a blokes ankles to try get the return handpass. Unfortunately, his teammates looked over it. He presents as hard as any pig to ever do it though, you can’t blame a bloke for wanting the pill!

Flanders (117) – Free ride Flanders no more, great form line without Nas and he looks finally settled down back.

Treacy (116) – Epic draft pick and epic player.

LDU (126) – Best trade out by me. It has been up and down but overall, LDU has had a great season.

Sheezel (121) – Death, taxes and Sheez 120’s, it’s not exciting but he’s an underrated captain.

Rowell (120) – A perfect target coming off his bye, can he repeat last year’s surge home?

Anderson (115) – Similar to Rowell, it looks like Trac is taking the heat off Noah and he’s benefitting in a big way.

Petracca (107) – When you look around the state of the forwards, Trac is simply a must.

Holmes (110) – DPP!!! My only positive from the weekend, and now everyone will get him this week. And they should too. Gun.

Daicos (126) – I was all for putting attention into Pendles, but not playing Hough on Daicos and letting him take the piss for a half was… A decision. Just get him in at all costs.

Cameron (124) – Darcy Cameron was a no brainer last week, but just in case you wanted to see him fully fit and back in form… You got it. Back to solo rucking and he should put 20 points on his current price tag.

De Goey (112) – For some reason I couldn’t trust De Goey last week, but I now look at the state of my forwards, especially those in red & white… Why the hell didn’t I want De Goat?! FULL time midfielder and looking like a possible top 6 forward until his body let’s him down.

JHF (124) – It’s a 120 or a 60 from the bag, another classic bag.

Gothard (130) – Gotham.

Oliver (126) – xAF king, Clarry’s numbers are starting to catch up… I think he could be back. For real this time. Dominant.

Callaghan (119) – Great score and this is what Finn is capable of, it’s good to see him tackling again! A last 3 of 96 still doesn’t stack up, I need to see more.

Daniels (106) – A favourite of the wash-up, we have seen Brent dominate in the middle beforehand… Not many players are capable of a 170. Just remember he had 45 from 50% CBAs one week ago against the Eagles.

Sanders (107) – Looking like he has arrived this year, Sanders is pushing for top 6 forward status at this rate. Legend!

Dale (106) – Just a way better player than Nic Newman and I’ll leave it at that.

LOSERS

Rankine (71) – What a shocker, the Crows suddenly throw him into a 100% midfield role and he breaks down. What’s the definition of insanity again? He was dominating and this is typical 2026, just another forced trade for his owners.

Macdonald (68) – Geez, this guy stinks… What a linsanity run that early season form was. Yuck.

Rachele (59) – We can blame Rachele and it’s fair to some extent, but Matthew Nicks is the second worst ‘big brain’ moron to ever do it, following myself. He was legitimately awesome in the midfield to start the season, and here we are now. Rankine has been run into the ground again, Josh is playing 100% of the game in the forward pocket, and Adelaide can’t beat a team above them to save their lives. It’s frankly embarrassing and I think most Crows supporters are in agreement. Nicks out.

Murray (3) – He had been awesome, but really… 3? Talk about hitting a wall, that’ll do it.

Caldwell (27) – Never ask if it can get worse. We all know it can. **** me. What a difference 12 months makes.

Durham (16) – Anybody grab Whitfield and Durham last week? 2026 can legitimately get in the bin. I think he was going to make up for last week’s shocker against the Tigers, but it has to be said those few disposals after the knee to the head earned him a HIA assessment themselves. Or maybe that’s just Sam doing his best? Ugly stuff.

Noble (69) – Noblesanity was a hell of a ride.

McKercher (57) – Kerch has the forward status, and he’s fitting the bill perfectly. He’s just not close to Sheez when it comes to being a fantasy scorer, I think he can go.

B.Uwland (52) – I was liking Bodhi as a post bye target, and I’m glad I got this bit of clarity before I did something really stupid. It’s Bodhi Uwland.

Grundy (80) – Are we all seeing it now? The bloke looks like he is competing in tough mudder every week, get off your hands and knees Brodie! That was exactly why I never have the courage to give him the straight C, that effort was 60 point unders. I think Spider Ladhams might be on the way to give a helping hand in the ruck soon…

McInerney (63) – Loves a bit of down hill skiing does Jmac. I hope he cashes in against the Tigers next week, because this is nothing short of pathetic. Getting very overrated this year.

Warner (60) – Speaking of overrated. I couldn’t think of many things worse than having to watch old Cheeksy every week at the Eagles, which means we will give up the house for him. 11 disposals, deadset embarrassing.

J.Daicos (73) – The Milan Murdock tag is going to be one to watch every week, and it was the last thing Josh Daicos owners needed. Full blown grimace shake.

Houston (43) – Honestly, I don’t even know how this is possible. Fourty-three points. Against the Eagles. While your fellow half back gets tagged all the way to the forward line. He has two easy fixtures leading into his bye, but when you’re capable of a score like this I’m not sure that counts for too much. Disgraceful effort.

Newman (79) – Three consecutive 70’s for Nic, and if I have learnt one thing in 2026, you get what you pay for.

McCluggage (73) – Case in point. Although in this case, we paid clear overs. That is straight up back to back worst player on the ground performances and he is single handedly ending Brisbane’s season. They should legitimately drop him.

Ashcroft (65) – I honestly don’t have the energy at this point to even comment on this ****. A top 10 ranked midfielder in 2025, he is currently ranked outside the top 200 in 2026. Just watch a Brisbane game and you’ll see why. Train. Tracks.

Whitfield (DNP) – “Hamstring awareness”… On Friday. Bullsh*t. There’s no way Whit plays this week, and he has a bye to follow. It just would have been NICE TO KNOW THIS ON FRIDAY. The AFL on top of injury reporting as always.

THIS GAME SH*TS ME

Why do we play? Every year without fail I will get to a point in my season where I big brain my side to total destruction. Having all of the big dogs this season has carried my side, but also left me without an obvious upgrade option and the perfect chance to destroy my side. I succeeded. Bring on the byes. This game sh*ts me.

THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES

1988? In round 11? I have 18 ‘premiums’ and one of my rookies scores 106????????????????? I can’t even look at my side right now, I’ve never been this disappointed at 23 blokes including the coach. I dropped from inside the top 1000 to outside the top 2.2k, with a round rank of just under 50k. No need to add anything more I don’t reckon.

Will Ashcroft? Why? I don’t know. Where to from here? Total capitulation most probably. I’ll wait for Thursday teams and see if last week’s moves are salvageable, but I doubt it.

I’m not even going to hope for a high scoring one next week, and I actually look forward to the ease of Best 18’s. See you next week.

Thanks Matt – I have a lot of potential trade outs including some non players like Robertson and Visentini R3 who will clearly have to go during byes but maybe not this week. I have 8 Rd 12 bye players but can field 22 players (handful of low scorers) if I just trade McA to other R2 like Cameron. Ison looks good second trade in as downgrade. Ideally I would like to get another big dog midfielder like Heeney(Vs Tigers) or Baz as my midfield is week especially this week with Butters and Sheezal(M/W) on bench

Who to choose to third trade out is difficult. In the backline I only have 4 premo types (not including Holmes), 2 on bench this week are milera and Noble. Milera is a keep but Noble is just over 1 mill and I think he goes down in price now away from Darwin but still might score OK. I also have Houston who I think has lost some of his kick ins and 50g or so per week maybe. Theoretically Houston has good match up Vs Dogs

My question to you is this. Should I trade out Houston or Noble and rotate Holmes up to the backline. This would allow me to replace Holmes in the midfield with Heeney or Baz. This is 1 premo out and 1 in but a kind of upgrade. Option 2 would be to trade someone like Luggage to get Heeney but not Baz. An upgrade I think. Other options would be: 3 -ruck trade up and trade down X 2 to get cash for big dogs next week or 4- Only play 1 ruck and trade down X 2 to get big mid upgrade from rookie peaking in price.

I would not normally trade out premo types this week and try to keep making cash but Houston > Noble concern me and Noble is a mill on the bench this week and that mill I think might head to the $800s. So could argue these moves make cash.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
