The Weekend Wash-Up | Taggers Paradise | Round 10

It can’t go on like this can it… Oh it can.

It can’t go on like this can it… Oh it can. Blame the AFL and their fixturing for the delayed podcast, it’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the Weekend Wash-Up!

LEGENDS

Bazlenka (157) – Every time I see the light at the end of the tunnel, it’s usually an oncoming train… Unless it’s Baz playing. A shining light in a dark season of fantasy, forget what opponents concede, if Baz isn’t tagged he’s going 120 and we can work our way upwards from there. He got dirty in the wet, laying 11 tackles… Like a pig in the mud. The best player in fantasy.

Mannagh (129) – 30 and 5 if you don’t mind, priced at 700k. Does he present value? Possibly but I think there’s better options.

Grundy (161) – 34 and a goal with 46 hit outs. Filled the box up, as he should have rucking against Ned Long. 55 points in the last to show everyone why he is the ruck pig, that’s a brilliant bounce back and a huge captain score!.

Blakey (146) – 39 and 10 marks, 8 kick ins. This is why I had the liz ranked so highly in drafts during pre-season! You just can’t trust it.

Jmac (110) – 31 and a goal for Jmac! His scoring coincided with the Swans resurgence and he’s looking very much like a top 6 forward with everyone collapsing around him!

Daicos (102) – Take this considering he was tagged by Jordon, in fact his effort to average 100 across the Jordon/Mullin tags is all I needed to see. The 120+ years are here to stay, he’s a priority if you don’t own him, forget the break even. Good luck Houghy.

Noble (126) – L3 of 135, just absolutely wild stuff. Uwland still owns most of the kick ins but it’s not mattering at the moment, incredible stuff.

Butters (122) – Just getting it done each and every week at the moment, trading him is looking more and more ridiculous by the Round.

Anderson (118) – 918k, BE of 68, b2b 115+… Noah Anderson has to be on the radar. Can Christian Petracca save him from the hard tags? We’re about to find out…

Uwland (115) – L3 of 111, another 7 kick ins. Uwland is as safe as houses and a great upgrade option coming off his R12 bye. High on my radar.

Dawson (106) – Typical Dawson game with just 24 disposals, but he gets it done across the stat sheet. Was back in the guts 2H last week, 63% CBAs in this game. He’s back and remains a lock top 8 mid.

Rankine (102) – Pushed through the tag, 78% CBAs, he’s a clear top 6 forward but has a bye and Mullin on the horizon. The midfield role will stick. SURELY.

Amon (105) – Goated run of fixtures, 922k… Karl is cooking, but he’ll also be feeling too expensive soon. Top 6 feels unlikely with all their mouths to feed.

Sparrow (103) – Last 5 of 96. 76% CBAs. The correct forward pick!

Florent (127) – Was there any game plan changes or did Ollie Florent just pull a score from deep within his ass. Who knows.

Sanders (102) – Has been around the mark in the xFantasy charts and backed it up here, he has been fantastic and looks like a safe 90+ forward..

Sinclair (115) – Honestly, only an 18 point Q4? In junk time vs Tigers? Massive unders, this should’ve been a 140.

Hall (114) – L3 of 99.3 746k Fwd, 65% CBAs (No Nas). A jet but I can’t trust it, if the role sticks he will prove a genius pick. .

Garcia (112) – Only 20 and playing elite footy, fair play! We were harsh last year…

Flanders (109) – The massive winner without NWM, and he had no CBAs! Finally settled into that HB role and should safely be a top 6 forward.

Wilkie (108) – Will be ultra cheap, it’s just annoying he has a R16 bye.

Carroll (101) – Gigantic performance for those who have held, this was a bad miss by me.

Baz.Williams (141) – Just makes you wonder why he can’t be half of this level more consistently. Best game of his career and the Eagles aren’t a bright green ruck matchup with him in there.

Harley (136) – 34 and 2, 8 tackles, easily the best game I’ve seen from an Eagle for a very long time. The tags will come, but when he wants to be he’s unstoppable. Soon to be a fantasy star.

Oliver (116) – Clarry has been dominating the xAF and he rewarded owners with a great score against the Eagles, as his teammates should have. Will never get tagged and is cooking with 103 in his L5. But it’s Clayton Oliver.

LOSERS

Holmes (91)My loser of the week because he can’t keep getting away with it. 1 ton in his L5, averaging a pathetic 95 in the best role in football. Good on you Munta. No tags in sight, great wins for his side and he can’t even get a ton, let alone a 120. It seems if he’s not in the midfield he’s nowhere, and he got bizarrely moved after 19 disposals in the 1st half. He better get DPP because this is sh*thouse.

Dunkley (77) – Finished…? It sure looks like it.

Bailey (77) – I never quite understood the Bailey hype, no doubt he’s a gun player but he’s in a sh*t role and he is as inconsistent, if not worse than bloody Cheeksy. Temu Cheeksy.

W.Ashcroft (74) –  A couple of poor scores in a row now, however the run into his bye is fantastic. Wild to think, but he’s in my trade plans this week. Chris Fagan is about to fire a rocket in his direction.

Miers (54) – Playing with his knee ready to fall off, ridiculous and will surely not last.

J.Daicos (80) – Has scored 1 ton since round 4 and this is what he is. A dead average footballer.

Warner (80) – Let’s get a few things very clear. Cheeksy is the hardest watch in football, we know this. That effort in the 1st quarter, the holding the ball… It might be best to just turn it off altogether. He somehow gets it done but this can’t last and I look forward to being rid of him.

Houston (69) – When he sat on 61 at HT, I was recalibrating how good Dan might be. This was followed by an 8 point 2nd half, and more concerningly for me Jeremy Howe once again took ALL the kick ins. 10 of them. He goes on his bye.

Touk (76) – Our forward line questions continue on, and the only answers we are getting is a hard no. Touk is certainly NOT the answer.

JHF (66) – A L3 of 66 is nothing short of disgraceful, but it’s the bag. I thought we were past this but I guess not. Arguably worse than Cheeksy, send him packing with confidence.

Rachele (82) – 3 CBAs, 9%, all in Q1. It was OK because Crom dominated and he kicked 2 incredible snags, but it’s still a must trade for me.

McAndrew (72) – This left a sour taste in the mouth, a bloody 9 point 2nd half?! Spent the whole last qtr on the bench (rested for short turnaround). 6 FAs too hurt. Should’ve been much bigger considering he was on 63 at HT. (Translation, he was great and I’m a sook)

Xerri (69) – Joined McAndrew on the pine in that last Q, only after he had the sh*t beaten out of him by Mac. Way too inconsistent, it’s a 140 or a 60.

Steele (87) – Last 5 of 84, last 3 79. Struggling to find the blokes who weren’t happy at my Jack Steele takes… He sucks.

Gawn (84) – Still carrying Melbourne and dominating, but with some help. Heath aint going anywhere and the ceiling feels capped.

Pickett (73) – A bit concerning, but that’s 3 hard tags in a row for Kozzy. Yes that’s always a concern, however he’s coming into a run of 5 tag free fixtures… He could go huge.

Cmac (69) – As the kids would say, he’s mid af.

Newman (77) – His role is all over the place. His 5 kick ins were all in the 2nd half, I heard he might’ve been on the wing again?! Surely not, I’m just glad I didn’t have to watch it.

Walsh (76) – Heading towards Jack Steele levels, and fast. Andy Brayshaw and Caleb Serong are living proof you can turn into a sh*t fantasy player. Yuck.

Richards (68) – This is why you can never press red for Ed.

Kennedy (53) – Losing his midfield role for good reason, what a shocking season. Draft stinker.

Jackson (70) – The Essendon ruck matchup does not lie… LJ will be fine.

Durham (62) – We might need a new rule. No mid year draft picks unless they are rookie priced. I watched Sam Durham closely for the first time on Sunday, and my hangover became significantly worse. Horrible footballer.

Finn (75) – COAT. That’s why you need to pile it on against Essendon.

Murdock (63) – What a save, but that role could have him scoring 30s. Was not around the ball at ALL. Ticking time bomb.

Whitfield (59) – Tagged by Murdock and just an embarrassing effort. It shut down the GWS ball movement as well, this could be a scary blueprint.

THIS GAME SH*TS ME

The not 15 rule… If we’re just going to make sh*t up, let’s at least do it consistently. Some umpires like to pay 10 metre chips, some like to not pay 20 metre darts. Maybe they just make the call when they feel like they’re not in the game enough? Does old mate Foot have them in a multi? It’s a joke of a rule and it’s ruining our scores in a year that’s hard enough as it is. This game sh*ts me.

THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES

2146, 7,349 round, 978th overall – a shit sandwich outside of Grundy and Baz.

I simply have to chase points and De Goey should make me some $$$ (and hopefully outscore) forward pocket Rachele, and my cash in the bank will get a rookie up to Will Ashcroft. Yes I’m going there again. Triple rookie fix up next week to launch in R13.

Rachele -> De Goat

Duursma -> Ashcroft.

I might just stop asking because it never works, but can we PLEASE enjoy one high scoring round before we’re back to best 18’s again for another month. Snooze fest.

Matt

Great read as always
Anyone looking for my side will find it in the bottom section
Grundy going against a guy who’d be lucky to reach his shoulders i’m thinking 55 points last quarter was total unders
People will enjoy his upcoming rest

He’s a watch.
