What a total sh*t show. We all need this. It’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the Weekend Wash-Up!
LEGENDS
Jackson (128) – R1… No ruck had scored a ton against the Hawks ruck duo before Luke Jackson completely dominated the game on Thursday. 22 disposals, 10 Tackles, 22 hitouts, he does it all and there’s no way they can bring back Sean Darcy after this. Looking like a 120 guy and a must have.
Amon (114) – It’s Karl Amon but… L3 115. You could do worse.
Neale (124) – Ashcroft has been getting the attention, but Lachie Neale is showcasing exactly why he’s still Brisbane’s best player and a premier midfielder in the comp. L3 131, L5 118, and an average of 108 for the season. A brilliant pick so far, but surely Mullin comes his way this week.
Bont (143) – Bont has been rolling out of bed for 30 disposals and 5+ marks, strapping, soreness and all. He finally added the tackles (10) we know he can deliver, and with it came a monster 140+. Just a no brainer and a must have at under $1M, he’s in this week.
Budarick (114) – Nobody could have seen this score coming given what he was dishing up before the injury, but what a hold if you did it! The Dale killer. I prefer the De Goey/Durham midfield options as value forwards.
Butters (109) – Good on him, the ticking time bomb almost got 10 weeks with his weekly human piss missile attempt. Lucky.
Sheezel (127) – The definition of getting it done, as soon as Sydney switched the Jordon tag onto LDU Sheezel went off. Gun.
Parker (118) – Dominating at HB and has been a brilliant late round draft pick!
LDU (116) – Once again, perhaps not my finest trade. The tag went to Sheez initially and LDU started like a house on fire, the fact he has been this good for an average of just 95 sums up the LDU experience.
Roberts (157) – The ultimate piggery. His first half was absolutely brilliant and had him best on with 20 disposals. The second half was pretty dirty and not his greatest work, with 22 disposals. Hopefully Scott just lets him pig it up. It’s so hard to justify paying over $1.1M for Archie Roberts, but his form and fixtures suggest you should try.
Whitfield (125) – 7 kick ins and he is starting to dominate with Ash in the midfield. Interesting to note that Ash moved out of the midfield in the 2nd half, GWS came back and won. Whit only managed 52 in 2H. Something to monitor, his ceiling without Ash back there is Archie Roberts levels.
Noble (135) – That’s back to back monsters for John Noble! The lack of kick ins and his previous form makes it tough to trust, but way to make the most of some green fixtures.
Flanders (119) – So it turns out Sam Flanders just needs Nas out of the way altogether. He took on the extra responsibility and dominated, the free ride was justified!
Anderson (115) – Don’t look now but Noah has gone at 102 in his L3 since returning from injury, that’s incredible value at $886k. Christian Petracca may take the tag attention off him, and he will need to. Before the Suns early bye they play North, and then face Brisbane and Geelong. Tough to buy in to, but he is value.
Uwland (106) – Bodalicious! He owns the kick ins, has a low score of 81 since R0 and is averaging 97 in that time. That’s value at $874k, just note the fixtures.
Baz (127) – It was a disappointing first 3 quarters, but there’s good reason I sleep like a baby with Bazlenka as my straight up captain. A quarter pounder in the last to bring it home, if he doesn’t get tagged you can all but guarantee a 120+ score.
JDG (118) – You couldn’t. Could you…? I think it’s a play, especially if Rachele to him allows for another upgrade. 60% CBAs and some easy fixtures to come, a BE of 33 and a R14 bye. I’m just saying.
Rankine (162) – The thought process to pass on Rankine given his tough fixtures ahead was fair, but we all knew he was going to be a pure mid playing against Richmond. My goodness me. 33, 10 marks, 9 tackles and a goal for 192 points, a total game changer if you had him when you consider how poor the forwards are. 74% CBAs and he’s in there to stay, just know a few hard tags a coming around his early bye. A R14 play for me.
Dawson (133) – Only 33% CBAs as he floated across HB, however it should be noted Daws went back into a full time mid role at HT. It resulted in his 74 point second half, he’s ripe for the picking if you can afford it.
Milera (113) – Just another lazy 34 disposals, Wayne has been awesome! I didn’t see this ceiling coming, fair play.
LOSERS
Reid (65) – Murphy Reid was just one of many forwards who let us down last week. I think he needs to go, but I also have no idea who you trade him too. Tough one.
Macdonald (47) – 12 disposals, no marks, just quite frankly a pathetic effort from Cmac. If he could keep these poor scores to 70 he would be a brilliant pick, but a 40 is a killer.
W.Ashcroft (79) – This is a far too familiar story for Will, it’s a big ton or a 70 with no in between. That makes his L5 99.8, which isn’t enough. Lift.
Bailey (61) – What a joke of a line the forwards are. There’s a ceiling for Zac Bailey, but almost no floor. His L5 is just 88.8 with three big tons included.
English (97) – Matt Kennedy thought this was funny apparently. I’m actually over it at this point. Owned by under 1% of coaches in the top 15000, Tim English is doing more damage to my season than any player I can ever remember. He was back, looking awesome and this one isn’t his fault, but sh*t it hurts. He has a concussion history too, and I have to hold again. So that’s just perfect. Fun game.
JHF (65) – The bag is embarrassing himself once again. You’re turning 23, in your 5th season still dishing up this nonsense. Can genuinely never be trusted.
McInerney (78) – Jmac hasn’t tonned during the fantasy season, and I paid over $900k for him. So I’ll leave it at that. He has never had the ability, and this one is on me. Dead average footballer.
Warner (63) – Classic cheeksy. I knew this was coming, and I’ll take his L3 average of 89. But the blow torch is on him this week, we need a bounce back. Pathetic effort.
Grundy (54) – There he is, the “ruck pig” I know and love. Embarrassing. People must have been wondering where those R1 and 2 performances came from, well there it was. Xerri taking it out of the ruck all day and he had ONE TACKLE. Not good enough. Zero marks? 3 kicks?! 54!!!!
Sharp (56) – The story of my season, and the story of my rookie downgrades every year. Dyson Sharp was clearly the right pick. He was dominating the game (genuinely) in a full time mid role, on track for an 80-90. He was about to pick up forward status. It was genuinely a must have pick. Now he has a dislocated shoulder and is almost certainly out long-term. You beauty.
Farrow (43) – His time to go has come and gone. What a ride it was!
Marshall (69) – Go Saints.
TDK (63) – Go Saints.
Macrae (55) – This may sounds harsh, and I have loved his work for the past decade. But he needs to retire. Thnks fr th mmrs.
Wilkie (21) – If you were picking a side of blokes to avoid this injury crisis as best you can, Callum Wilkie would have been your first picked. It shows that sometime (most of the time), it’s a game of sheer luck. That hurts.
Bruhn (63) – Two things can be true. Tanner has been a brilliant pick for us this season. And it’s time to go. Well, it’s time to go. BE of 97, two tough fixtures and he’s just $150k away from Marcus Bontempelli. No brainer.
Pickett (58) – The OG piss missile has a different set of rules now that he’s a Brownlow contender. Good on him. Hell of an effort against the West Coast Eagles too.
Rachele (66) – I want to point the blame at Josh, and despite the fact you’re playing forward pocket, it’s the Tigers. However I need to go in and bat for him here. He had a brilliant 31 disposal 1 goal game against Geelong as a midfielder, and then 26 and 4 (!!!) against Carlton in Gather Round. He was impacting on the scoreboard just as much, and there’s absolutely ZERO REASON he should be playing as a forward pocket to accommodate the likes of Sam Berry and James Peatling (who shouldn’t be near the AFL). It’s deadset f**king embarrassing coaching. Imagine the headaches of opposition teams facing Rankine AND Rachele in the middle. An area where Adelaide have been below average for years. Don’t do a job well if you don’t want to stay in the role they say. Nicks just needs to get his eyes fixed, grow a couple of brain cells and get him in the midfield (it won’t happen).
Cumming (29) – Speaking of good coaching, how about taking Sam Cumming out of the midfield. That made sense. You can’t pay up for rookies, but you also can’t go down (See Bodie Ryan). We might as well just give up trying.
THIS GAME SH*TS ME
It’s an easy one for me this week, and it’s the state of AFL injury reporting. “But you only care because of your fantasy side.” What a ripper take that is. So there’s only the 150,000 AFL Fantasy coaches, 200,000 supercoaches, and hundreds of thousands of punters being affected is it? Just the fans of the bloody game? If nobody watched you wouldn’t have a league in the first place, so can we have some respect please. The NFL get it right, the AFL is a basket case. Late outs with ‘managed’, decisions made days in advance. It’s honestly a joke and the comp is heading that way as well. This game sh*ts me.
THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES
2,179, kissed for my score this week without Nas but crushed by injuries that hurt long term. I see genuinely no point in trading Tim English at $900k seeing as it will take a full upgrade, I might as well upgrade McAndrew at that point and I’m looking elsewhere with my trades.
The forward line is a total shambles, so I’m avoiding shopping there as well. Tanner has done his job and the time is right to move there, Bont has a BE of 85 and isn’t getting any cheaper. I’ll finally cash in Grlj to get there.
Grlj -> Ryan(?)
Bruhn -> Bont
Best of luck for the Round legends, can we PLEASE have a high scoring week!!! Just two more rounds until the byes, what a sweet treat. We’ll do it all again next week.

Thanks for your weekly wash up.
Its impossible to get rid of all my underperforming players, we only have two trades a week :(
But I suppose any score over 2100 is sort of OK?
Thanks for the great write up!!
Yes, the forward line is a total shambles. But when Rachele has just lost $37k, and is forecast to lose another $50k this round, I think a trade is a good move now. Otherwise it will be an upgrade to Cook in two weeks!
I just know the moment we all trade out Rachele this weekend, he’ll be back in the guts, it’s inevitable.
