The Weekend Wash-Up | Beach Balls | Round 15

The title certainly represents my co-host on the podcast and is in absolutely no way, shape or form how I am seeing them. That’s what we come to expect here. It’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the Weekend Wash-Up! 

LEGENDS

Jackson (166) – What an experience. Trust the scale when it comes to the rucks, LJ put Medwards in a body bag. 

Brayshaw (132) – I thought he was genuinely incredible in this game, could he be back?! The team role is a watch, because he is serious value for what he has averaged in the past. 

Anderson (143) – Sorry Noah, I wasn’t familiar with your game… Bloody hell. Piggish tendencies, including the low impact shanks. Great to see.

Gawn (112) – Solo ruck Max Gawn or Darcy Cameron, tough one. I swear my brain simple shuts down when it comes to rucks, Max is obviously king. 

Hall-Kahan (104) – What a gun! I love the MSD and everything it’s about, these players have wasted away at state level for years because they weren’t complete footballers when they were 18 years old. What a shocker. 

Hewett (128) – You couldn’t could you…? Nah… But could you?!

Walsh (109) – Looked fresh coming off the bye, I give Walshy 3 weeks before he is moving like Treloar again.

Newman (108) – All things considered, Nic Newman has been an extremely solid pick! There’s some juicy fixtures to come as well. 

N.Daicos (148) – Yeah, let’s not overthink this one anymore in 2026. It takes a hardcore tag to keep him to 90, other wise it’s a field day. He wants that Brownlow and he wants it bad. 

Byrne Jones (131) – If you faced this in draft I don’t blame you for giving it up. 

Horne Francis (124) – The bag has quietly become a legit stud in the forward line. He has mixed in these 120’s with solid scores, and that’s all we need for him to become a top 3-4 forward. Lock. 

Daniel (153) – Yuck. 

Parker (117) – Yuck, but I respect anyone who did it. Given the forced sideways trading we have endured over the byes, a 3 week fixture play is fair. Just prepare to be stuck with Luke Parker. 

Sheezel (116) – Massive unders, but Harry has been awesome all year. Can’t knock a bloke for a 116!

NWM (136) – Roberts eat your heart out, but it’s Nas so we have to praise him. Laughable really (and simply a must have).

Garcia (134) – We were just early… Hugo Garcia is looking like a dominant force and I’m here for it. 

Bont (127) – About damn time, hopefully this is the start of another late season Bont masterclass. 

Wilkie (123) – The top 6 defenders are suddenly in shambles with Roberts and Sinclair going down, and even Whitfield moving forward… Cal Wilkie will be a legit option. 

Hill (115) – Just note Bradley Hill and his half back role for post bye, he’s a forward averaging 88 and just had 37 disposals and 4 kick ins. But it’s also Brad Hill. 

LOSERS

C.Serong (64) – I can see Serong surging back to fantasy relevance at some point, purely because teams continue to tag Serong, he continues to not handle it, and yet Freo now have too many great players to stop them. I can see attention turning to guys like Bolton and Reid in the near future, so maybe Caleb can catch a break soon. Wishful thinking. 

Trac (83) – Stick to tik tok chief. What a shocking trade in, and I knew it was coming too. predictable. 

Steele (64) – Once again, no comment. 

Kozzie (53) – I get that he’s hot and cold, but a bloody 53?! He’s just lucky it’s the byes, I think there’s enough blokes putting their hands up now that he can safely go if needed. Deserves to be traded for that. 

Soligo (21) – Soligma.

Whitfield (83) – I think we start a petition to have Kingsley relieved of his coaching duties. Lachie Whitfield is a half back, can we stop reinventing the wheel. Connor Idun and Harry Himmelberg were the only players to have kick ins in the second half, and they shared 70% for the game. It’s no wonder they lost. 

Richards (61) – Smokin’ Joe. Not to be, dragged out of the midfield after the 1H on 19, and that will be that. 

Cameron (55) – Do NOT follow anything I do in the ruck, it is destined for disaster. I pick 3 premium rucks to navigate the byes, and they dish up this sh*t. Rocket Eade said it best. 

Taranto (73) – Leave the game before the game leaves you. 

LDU (66) – I think everyone in Fantasy just needs to own LDU once. It’s all great in theory, but just watch him as an owner for a game or two. That never again list will have another player added to it within a week. 

M.Hall (74) – He has been great, but we can’t get complacent at this time of year and there are plenty of other forwards firing. Don’t let Max overstay the welcome. Onto the 2027 watchlist. 

TDK (42) – Just cataclysmic list management. Rowan Marshall will be one to watch, just remember that he also scored 27 in the 2H as a solo ruck.

Sinclair (2) – We just can’t have good things. An absolute kissing for non-owners, but might help us navigate the Round 16 bye. That doesn’t make me feel any better about it, what a joke. 

THIS GAME SH*TS ME

I’m a broken record here, but seriously. Can we have one week without a forced trade to a premium? The 15 trades over the byes have saved our sides from total disaster, and even then a lot of us are barely coming out the other side with completed teams. And it’s not from needless sideways trading either! What a year. This game sh*ts me.

THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES

1863 for me this week. Embarrassing, shambolic, train wreck are a few apt descriptions of my sides performance in the past few weeks. Poor trade decisions once again prove it’s a trading game, just check out the co-host of the weekend wash-up podcast for evidence of this! Sharing the same starting team and the same ideas every week, he is ranked 28th. At least the podcast is a must listen!

I’ll do my best to not ruin it. Trades for me this week are pretty simple. Death, taxes and a forced premium trade due to injury means I’ll be bringing in Josh Daicos for Sinclair, a massive downgrade but it should net some points this week. Jack Ison was hell good for 3 weeks, so his pathetic cash generation will go to Herbert, allowing Murdock to go to Durham.

In other words, I’m going nowhere fast. It leaves me cashed up with $350k to chase NWM for my final rookie next week.
