Today is officially the start of rankings season for me. We’re writing the AFL Record content at the moment and I whack in some rankings … plus we’ll have our Draft Kit out on AFL.com.au in February. Anyway, I’ve got my spreadsheet set up and turned into a Google Sheet so that Roy and Calvin can pop their rankings in there.

A couple of notes:
- Each position has a tab at the bottom.
- DEF, RUCK, FWD are players available in those lines, MID is only midfielders (no DPPs).
- I’ve highlighted best averages in each year in increments of 10 (darker green is top 10 for that year … based on positions from this year only).
- Last 3 seasons averages (Avg) and games (Gms) are there.
- A bonus for the 2025 data includes each player’s top score, how many times they went over 100 and 120, TOG%, CBA%, first and second half splits PLUS the basic stat avereages.
- Byes column shows ‘early’ byes and ‘mid-season’ byes (R0 byes are also included in ‘early’).
How I start my rankings is by projecting an average for the players. In the ‘MY DATA’ column, I’ll pop in some projections into ‘Avg’ and then sort by that. Quite often some players may get a higher/lower ranking despite my projected score. This is usually off the back of durability or, as always, my gutfeel when I’m doing it!
Hope this helps some people! If you want to share it back to me, feel free to email me your completed rankings. I would love to compile a group of Patreon legends rankings.
Cheers and Happy New Year,
Warnie
