Team Sheets – Rd. 20

All the news, rumours, and team sheets for round 20!

IT’S THURSDAY!!

What a delightfully deflating week!  We get a new pig in the sty, we all make him captain, and he beats his season low by a single point.  You gotta love this game!  Smooth sailing in the news so far (unless you traded Taylor Adams in last week), but I’ve got a good feeling we’ll get some late outs this round!

Round 20 kicks off 19:50 AEST Friday night so make sure you have all your trades, captain, and emergencies locked in by then!  The Traders will be reacting LIVE today from 18:15 AEST on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.

As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.

North Melbourne vs Hawthorn

Essendon vs Port Adelaide

Dyson Heppell will need to overcome his foot injury and illness to play this week.  Essendon confirmed Heppell will have corrective surgery in the off-season. Orazio Fantasia is in the same boat, he’ll have surgery on his hip at the end of the season but will look to play through it for the remainder.  Conor McKenna should be back after his trip to Ireland. (AFL – Riley Beveridge)

Scott Lycett is going to be dropped!  Charlie Dixon and Todd Marshall should return to the side.  According to Port Adelaide Assistant Coach (And Subiaco coaching legend) Jarrad Schofield, Ollie Wines is a week-to-week prospect with his thumb injury but likely won’t be back for this game. GWS vs Sydney

Sam Taylor will miss a few games with a hamstring injury. Jake Stein and Adam Kennedy look the two likeliest replacements.  Brett Deledio was manged last round and has been made available again. (AFL – Adam Curley) (Twitter – aflratings.com.au)

After a successful NEAFL return, ruckman Sam Naismith looks to be parachuted right into the Swans lineup. Robbie Fox and Hayden McLean have been sharing ruck duties so you’d think one of the two may be the straight swap.  Dane Rampe and Colin O’Riordan have been ruled out with a eye and groin injuries respectively.  Oliver Florent is set to return from a hip injury. Will Hayward is done for the season. (AFL – Adam Curley, 2)

Fremantle vs Geelong

Luke Ryan will miss three weeks with a hamstring injury. (Fremantle)

Melbourne vs Richmond

Steven May is “touch and go” to return from injury this week.  Sam Weideman and Kade Kolodjashnij are both done for the season. (AFL – Sarah Black)

Sydney Stack has left training early with a calf injury.  Coach Damien Hardwick has said that ruckman Toby Nankervis will play in the VFL this week.  Trent Cotchin will be out with a minor hamstring injury, paving the way for possibly Josh Caddy or Jack Ross to come back into the side. (AFL – Callum Twomey, Michael Ramsey)

Adelaide vs St. Kilda

Eddie Betts will come back in this week.  Reilly O’Brien has concussion and is questionable to play this week.  Alex Keath will continue to be managed and won’t play this week. (Twitter – aflratings.com.au, 2, Lee Gaskin)

Apparently Dan Hannebery was cleared to play this week after training strongly, but now he has gastro and has been ruled out. (Fox Sports – Josh Gabelich)

Collingwood vs Gold Coast

There may be a few changes at Collingwood this week with Jordan De Goey and Isaac Quaynor already ruled out through injury.  Taylor Adams (a late withdrawal last week) didn’t participate at training and Jordan Roughead left early as he battles to recover from concussion.  Levi Greenwood, Matt Scharenberg, Tyson Goldsack, Jack Madgen, and John Noble are the leading contenders to come into the side. (AFL – Ben Collins)

Jack Martin, Ben Ainsworth, and Jack Bowes could all come into the team this week after recovering from injuries. Jack Hombsch is out for the season with an ankle injury. (Twitter – aflratings.com.au, 2) (AFL – Michael Whiting)

Carlton vs West Coast

Matthew Kreuzer was managed last week but will still need to pass a fitness test today to come back into the side. (Twitter – aflratings.com.au)

The Eagles could be nearly full-strength with the potential returns of Liam Duggan, Mark Hutchings, and Shannon Hurn this week.  Francis Watson, Jackson Nelson, and Jarrad Cameron look under threat should the three all come in. (AFL – Travis King)

Brisbane vs Western Bulldogs

Alex Witherden is in doubt with a lower leg injury.  Marcus Adams and Daniel McStay both copped knocks against Hawthorn but should still play this week. (AFL – Ben Collins)

Dale Morris has ruptured his ACL. (AFL – AAP)
