IT’S THURSDAY!!
Congratulations! If you’re reading this article then that means you’ve made it through the byes without quitting! Either that, or you’re me from one week in the future going back to copy and paste the blurb below. If it’s the latter, don’t forget to wish Dad good luck in the hockey! If it’s the former, then I have some good news for you, there are clear skies so far at the selection table.
Round 15 kicks off 19:20 AEST TONIGHT so have all your players from Essendon and GWS locked in by then. Partial lockout will turn to full lockout 19:50 AEST Friday night as per usual. The Traders will be reacting LIVE today from 18:15 AEST on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.
As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.
Essendon vs GWS
Only one change for Essendon, Martin Gleeson plays his first game in 656 days for the injured Matt Guelfi. Orazio Fantasia has been named despite pulling up sore.
GWS have gone with three changes, Nick Haynes is back ahead of schedule, Zac Langdon returns as well, and Jackson Hately (314k MID) has been given another chance at the senior level. Tough break for Jake Stein who didn’t do much wrong in his debut, he’s been dropped alongside Matt Buntine while Matt de Boer is out injured.
Geelongs vs Adelaide
Gary Rohan is out after failing to overcome his concussion and Darcy Fort has been omitted! Lachie Fogarty and Jed Bews are in.
Three injuries at the Crows, Josh Jenkins, Wayne Milera, and Cameron Ellis-Yolmen. They’re replaced by
Bryce Gibbs, Elliott Himmelberg, and debutant Ben Davis (170k FWD).
Hawthorn vs West Coast
Oliver Hanrahan (170k FWD) debuts, he’s joined in the team by Conor Nash and Daniel Howe. Harry Morrison and Kaiden Brand are omitted, Jarryd Roughead is injured.
Nic Naitanui is playing, albeit on limited minutes, and Willie Rioli returns from suspension. Jeremy McGovern has been suspended for one week, and Jack Petruccelle is injured.
Sydney vs Gold Coast
Lance Franklin will miss the next month with another hamstring injury while Ryan Clarke and Daniel Menzel have been omitted. Tom McCartin, Ben Ronke, and James Rowbottom come in.
Touk Miller and Pearce Hanley return from quad injuries alongside Brad Scheer. Callum Ah Chee and Nick Holman are injured, George Horlin-Smith has been omitted.
Collingwood vs North Melbourne
Jeremy Howe will be out for three weeks with a calf injury, he’s replaced by Josh Daicos.
Taylor Garner has been demoted to the VFL after his incident at Double Bay hotel. Kyron Hayden (170k MID/FWD) will debut!
Port Adelaide vs Western Bulldogs
Karl Amon and Dougal Howard have both been suspended for one week. Willem Drew and Peter Ladhams (185k RUC) are back in ahead of Justin Westhoff and Paddy Ryder. Tom Rockliff is listed as an emergency?
No changes for the Bulldogs!
St. Kilda vs Richmond
Dean Kent is injured and Jonathon Marsh omitted. Potential inclusions are Jack Steele, Nick Coffield, Ben Long, Ben Paton, Doulton Langlands (170k MID/FWD), and Sam Rowe.
Richmond swing the axe with three omitted already! Jack Higgins, Ryan Garthwaite, and Noah Balta have been dropped, potential ins are David Astbury, Jayden Short, Kane Lambert, Shane Edwards, Ivan Soldo, Trent Cotchin, and Shai Bolton.
Brisbane vs Melbourne
Jacob Allison and Rhys Mathieson have been omitted. Potential ins are Zac Bailey, Ben Keays, Jarrod Berry, Sam Skinner (244k DEF), Brandon Starcevich (202k MID/FWD), and Corey Lyons (170k MID).
Josh Wagner has been omitted for Michael Hibberd. The other potential inclusions are Jordan Lewis, Braydon Preuss, Oscar McDonald, and Corey Wagner.
Fremantle vs Carlton
Jesse Hogan and Stephen Hill have both escaped serious injuries but are still out this week. Cam McCarthy and Adam Cerra are the likely inclusions, other options are Travis Colyer, Bailey Banfield, Scott Jones, and Lachie Schultz.
Biggest news for last! Paddy Cripps is injured!? Harry McKay is out as well. The ins will come from Jack Silvagni, Liam Jones, Matthew Kennedy, Andrew Phillips, Hugh Goddard (170k DEF), and Darcy Lang.

What are the chances that GWS could use Hately in a tagging role?

Josh Kelly did an interview during the week and he highlighted the job Adam Kennedy did on Polec, kept him to 58 fantasy points and zero marks.

RDT players:
1. Duursma & Stocker > Crisp & Hately
2. Duursma & Stocker > Logue & Hately (let Hurn drop in value)
Duursma & Clarke are my only rookies left on field with 10 trades left

Surely Duursma can survive but Stocker (injured) to Hately makes sense
Do you have the like s of Clark or Answerth to axe before Duursma??
Good luck for the rest of the season

I traded Duurs and Atkins to Logue and Hately in RDT if that helps. Already have hurn, waiting for Whit.

Hately’s JS is questionable though

Anyone think that Davis will get more than 1 game?
Trading Setterfield (on the bench) down would be very handy……

You would think straight out for lynch next week?
But who knows!
Would love him to stay for a nice downgrade

I think the consensus is that Hanrahan has better JS for the same price. The problem is at this point of the season it’s hard to justify any of them because if they were good they probably would have debuted before round 15.

Unless there are some new rookies I’ll probably be bringing in J. Cameron and Billings, for Parker and Dahlhaus. I’m not a big fan of Billings, but he seems to be going better than Dusty.

Martin has been going great. Traded him a month ago and Edith Piafs.

Interesting strategy from Carlton to shake the Cripps tag.

Rockliff named as Emergency. Time to prove his fitness then come in I’m thinking? I’m leaving him on the field with a playing emergency just in case:)

Crap, I wouldn’t have thought of done that. What a great idea, I’m gonna do that too. Cheers.

Well have held Rocky until today, if he played only had 3 Rooks left then Cripps was injured, couldn’t hold anymore Cripps and Rocky gone for J.kelly and Billings 120k left to upgrade Duursma and Hore to Whitfield when he comes back.

Only one of those guys has scored a 190, gotta be Macrae.

What happens if I have two emergencies in one line but one isn’t playing? Do i get 0 or the playing player? I want to use J Kellys score for VC loophole but only have Darcy Cameron to put the C on, Flynn is on my bench and already has the emergency on him and is locked after the game.
Cheers

The playing player. Lowest score if both play.

Hey Ollie you legend and everyone,
Have 2 options and I am very split on both…
Rockliff and Cripps —> Macrae and Crisp Via DPP
Or
Rockliff and Cavarra —> Macrae and Hanrahan
I am worried I will miss the boat on Hanrahan considering I don’t have any bench cover in FWD line. And hoping Cripps is only 1 week. I hate getting in Crisp because he is very up and down, and can’t get anyone else because of Cash.
