This was supposed to be a trade round for me but my issue is that all the players I wanted have gone up further this round which I guessed would happen. I was just giving Dangerfield, Ladson and J Corey more time to prove themselves which didn’t happen. Do I wait till next round?
My targets are/were Rockliff, Maguire, Brennan, Higgins, Goddard, Ablett, Sylvia.

I have consistency with my gun forwards already.
This will move is to A) get a up and commer/make some coin and B) enabling me to cover any injuries with twice the amount of dual position players.

i have hille and i will wait another week due to the fact west coast is playing freo which means cox vs sandilands and i think they will both get about 80 due to the fact they are awesome ruckmen that will cancel each other out
I am also waiting a week.
My logic is:
- Cox will score around 100 or below.
- Hille will score a average score again
- Cox will either continue to drop in price (if he scores below 78) or rise in price because he has found his form again (around 100).
- Hille with his past two scores will increase his price (with any score above 16) (which im expecting given his good form lately and lack of retardedness)
So: I believe even if Cox finds form, the rise in Hille’s price from his good last two weeks should roughly equal or be greater than cox’s increases. So, you’d end up pocketing a small wad of cash, and double check to see if cox’s form is for real against arguably the best ruckman in the game at the moment.
(my other thoughts are getting cox in for clarke this week… but I have backed him up all year, even through his shitty form. He has scored more and more each week, hitting the 80′s last week. will he come back? or will he remain an 80′s/90s ruckman… less than what I think cox will average come later this year.. or is cox too injury prone?)

As Gri321 has mentioned mate their are some basic questions that can be asked but alot more info needs to be divuldged before we can give some advice. But don’t forget. It’s only advice.
E.g. How long have you had these two. I bet you’ve only just got Peterson. If so then I would sit.
As for me I have had Dangerfield since the start and I am currently working on an upgrade which will involve him. If it doesn’t work then I will scrap the whole idea then start again. Don’t just trade to because you still have trades. As you will see alot of people mention they do need to last along time.
Why does it matter how long he has had them really? At the end of the day Peterson has peaked and may also get dropped.
i agree. Although I’m not for trade burning. I believe, if your player has peaked. its time to go, no matter the sentimental or new feelings towards the player. Its a game and the idea is to buy low and sell high. Peterson i think will float up and down around his current price.
i am just hoping like helll that peterson is left out of next weeks game so he wont go down in value and he can be traded for what he costs now

At 351k? Beginning to look the goods with a team high 95 in rd 4 and a 121 in rd 5.
Him and Jordan Lewis both seem good picks for around that price, could save yourself a heap of cash going one of these rather than spending big on players that aren’t going to score that much more.
jordan lewis has caught my eye, but im finding that my wallet is quite full and im afraid i wont look into him that much. would rather a stanton. rather than lewis who is a cog in the hawthorn machine.. stanton is the machine.
Great to see hard nut Campbell Brown get the plaudits and soft cock Jonathon Brown get the chop! One of the funniest things I saw last year was Campbell Brown give it to one of the opposition players when he was putting pressure on him and caused a fumble. The umpire mics picked up Browny saying Haha That was shit, you’ve got to better than that, you’re playing with the big boys now.

Yeah I’m getting on Didak this week for Ziebell. And I’ll be trading Mark McVeigh out for anybody below and including Sam Mitchell (Hayes, Pendle, Judd, That’s my tough decision). I like the look of Pendles.

I’ve got two premiums I’d rather not have now. Groins require a year’s rest to get anywhere near good (good, not real good). The problem is that they can feel ok during the week and flare up on game day or during the day and vice versa, feeling sore during the week and then ok once the player starts running around. No-one can ever say for sure what way it’ll go. Clearly Brown was sore in the last half against the Dogs, then must have felt ok on Friday and Saturday but clearly couldn’t move on Saturday night. If you don’t have mobility on the MCG as a forward target, forget about it. He’ll be a nightmare this year and whatever is said before the game will be bullshit because no-one will ever know (including Browny himself). The other one is Swan. If I was still in a trade-happy mode, I’d trade him for Ablett. So many good midfielders there now he could play anywhere instead of in the guts where a premium premium midfielder should be.
are you gonna give brown the flick? I remain a strong front on keeping the keepers you selected, but if that means a topsy turvy year (which no one can predict), like buddy franklin, I couldnt cope.
I think he is a star but this could ruin his season DT wise.. maybe open the door even more so for Brennen, or close it if he is required to play forward again, instead of midfield if brown is rested.
Nah, there’s no hope of me trading Brown. He’ll be good at the Gabba like he was against the Dogs cause they can pump it into him. In that game, he threw us 10 points in the first half and then gave us a total of 87. It’ll just be frustrating cause instead of 140, 140, it’ll be all over the place. That was/is the Lions only game at the MCG. I’ll consider giving him a rest at Subiaco where forwards have to run around. Make sure if you keep him you have confidence in your emergency but even so, with another late withdrawal, we’ll cop a nut.

With Kayler-Thompson the dilemma is twofold: Will he keep his spot and will he stay free of the sniper that is gunning the Hawks down? I couldn’t trade for him. Cunnington…maybe. Massive wraps and is one of the last ‘hype’ midfield rooks. Not for me though as I want to get the maximum out of Bastinac and Martin.
what do people think of Jarrod Kayler-Thomsom from the Hawks, is he likely to get a decent run of games?

I have got 16 trades left, I had to use 4 for injuries and to upgrade useless DT players at the moment like Kurt Tippet and Mitch Clark.
I thinking about doing another double trade this week.
Josh Hunt ——> Rookie
Jack Ziebell ——> Colin Sylvia/ Alan Didak
Do you think I should do these trades?
Also what round do you think to have your team mostly fully upgraded by? And how many trades from then should you save for injury?

Ive got hunt and am pretty keen to hold out a few more weeks to see if he turns his shit around. If your already 4 trades down I’d be looking to hold off for a week or two.
I am tempted by Sylvia but Dids is 30k cheaper.

Look at what is said during the week and the team to see if Davis is playing. Bock and Stevens will be back in and if Davis is still in his Job Security would apear to be ok. Could get him for Danger.
I’m simply sticking with Danger for a while. He is DPP which will come in handy and will play all 22 if fit. He has those two upsides.
This may be unique and or risky but i am thinking about planning my team very well using this DPP rule and upgrading my team quickly. If and when injuries occur and players are rested i will have suitable cover with the DPP and a very strong team early on.
What are peoples thoughts on this??
Thinking about having Goddard in the Middle with Hodge, Carrazzo and Kelly that can be rotated. (CTR/BCK)

Yeh kind of but you may only need one emergency playing in a position because if you have a zero from Duncan (as i did in this week) i can move him to the middle and use one of those emergencies. It works if they are better than my forward emergencies or i don’t have any of those playing.
I was looking for an excuse to start trading more. I think I will go the same way because my team is already half DPP.
Question is do you only have one of each in the centre to make it work. Is one enough?

Well, i guess it means that i can get my team set more quickly as i won’t have to keep as many trades in the bank to cover zero’s in the future. Instead, i can swap players over. So for instance, i could have potential saved a zero this week using it. I could have swapped Duncan into the middle for Brennan up forward. Then moved Duncan to the Bench for Martin. This allows me to use my emergencies in the centre if i don’t have any playing in the forward line and vice versa.
You’d have to assume that one of your mids at any point in time will get injured, so one of your emergencies will have to take care of him. That leaves one emergency, so yeah, one is enough.
Awesome idea. I would love to do the same but am having trouble finding the cash because all my choppables that needed to go up this week went down and everyone I wanted this week went up.
3rd week with out a trade. Who would have thought saving trades could punish you as much as using them!
as much as your all talking about downgrading hunt, im just gonna keep the nuggety little fuker on my bench. hs guaranteed a game every week in that geelong backline, so will always be there as an emergency for me. i simply cant see the point in downgrading him to someone who has less job security. yes, you may not convert the profit you have made on him, but come round 13, 14 etc i think having no donuts will be more beneficial. i guess its all up to the individual, as i see others cash cows in my team id rather upgrade than hunt

J.Hunt. Looks like a tasty prospect to up/downgrade this week, but I’m thinking he will most likely play all games,(barring injury ofcourse), so my question is, is he worth staying in my team as an I/C “keeper”? Can the same be said about B.Nason, my other emerg! My thinking is he is obviously the better cashcow, so makes sense to upgrade him in future weeks to a premium.
I’m also considering trading Ladson to Grundy for his DPP benefits and Mayne to Mcpharlin/Gwilt for the same reason.
Depending on finances, I would love to afford to have Mcpharlin/Gwilt as permanent I/Cs to give me that added DPP FLEXIBILITY, (& more importantly, potentially trade saving!)
etc……..
YES, I believe the DPP could be very handy & reduce the need to have to trade, BUT it still boils down to having luck with injuries!
But my mediocre team, I say that coz I have $656,000 in the bank as I traded Roo to Pods,( a trade I’m happy with now,-was very risky,) is still averaging over 2k, has a great deal of upside to it, but will have to burn trades i.e. 4,double upgrades in the next 2 ends, will still leave me with 13 trades at the completion of round 8, & hopefully can hold tight on trades for a few rounds thereafter!

im holding onto ball. his 80 every week is good enough for me at this stage. i have others id prefer to upgrade than ball. and i dont have spike so i cant comment but hes been average to say the best, has a fuked up poisoned arm and is just runnin around in a shit side dominated by stanton who racks up 650 points a game and leaves the others 21 blokes in the side to average 14 points

Got a dilemma here fellas, i’m going for 1 out of a possible 3 trades and i have 302k in the bank.
1. Trade Mark McVeigh to G.Ablett for a fairly stong midfield with Bartel, Boyd and Mitchell (when they come back), Barlow and Trengove. Only problem is that i dont no whether mitchell and boyd will be coming back soon and if they do i dont think ill make the trade, and i won’t have any cash in the bank.

3. Trade Gwilt to Didak
Bring in Cox for Kreuzer or Ottens?
Ottens can increase his price more, but is he too injury prone to keep around?
Kreuzer looks like keeping his average the same all year.
I’d rather have the extra money that trading for ottens would leave in the bank though.
