Join me and special guest Lewy from PODPOD and The Coaches Panel in the next head to head battle between value defenders Heath Chapman and Zac Williams. We discuss each player in depth and talk about their pros and cons, give our verdict on who we would pick out of the two players, and if we are keen on starting either player in our side.
Heath Chapman
Injuries unfortunately meant that Heath Chapman only played the 3 games last season, but we did see some good signs from him in 2022, with some decent scores including 84, 83, 89, 100, 84 and 95 (Elimination Final vs Bulldogs). Being priced around 55 at $494k, if he can go at a 75+ average, would be a good pick in defence, while Hayden Young also playing midfield could mean even more ball going Chapman’s way.
Zac Williams
Unfortunately injury also hurt Zac Williams last year, but he didn’t play a game last year after getting injured in Round 19 of the 2022 season. And that has been the case over the last few seasons, with multiple injuries keeping him to not many games. Now comes in priced around 49 and a very cheap price at $442k. Has a career high average of 92.7 in 2019, and multiple seasons of an 80+ average. Could have 30+ points of upside if he can stay fit.
