Rummerz’ NFL Week 9 Moneyball Money-blitz!

Take a look a Rummerz’ top selections for week 9 for a chance at a share of five thousand dollarydoos!

We barely knew thee.

I’ve broken this column down into three categories; Studs, Value and Match ups. The studs are the backbone of your team, these are the guys that will score you the most points (hopefully!) Value plays are players that are cheap for the amount of points they are capable of putting up for the game. They allow you to fit more studs into your team. Match ups are players that might be playing a team that’s weak in a specific position. They might be a mixture of studs, mid-priced and value. If you’re tossing up between two players, it generally helps to go the one with the better match up. Balancing out these three categories will give you the best chance of scoring well.

Todd Gurley, RB, LA Rams, $9,200

After a week off to refresh during the bye, TG meets a NY Giants run defence that struggles to contain stud RBs, (104 yds to Elliott, 105 yds to Gordon). Gurley himself has surpassed 100 yards four of his last five games.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City, $9,100

Hunt struggled against Denver last week but should bounce back against a Dallas defence that’s allowed over 80 scrimmage yards to six RBs this season. This should be a high-scoring affair and one would expect him to benefit.

Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans, $8,400

Vegas predicts 52 points to be scored in this one, and coupled with Tampa Bay giving the sixth most fantasy points to the opposing QB, this looks like a good day out for the veteran.

Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas, $8,300

Another one Vegas predicts to be 52 points. If Dallas are without Elliott, then they may be forced to lean on their receivers. KC give up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing QBs.

Dez Bryant, WR, Dallas, $7,800

Dez may be the go-to-man for the Dallas offence this week if Elliott is out. Dez has the most (14) redzone targets in the league so far and meets a KC defence giving up second most points to WR.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, Carolina, $6,200

Carolina traded their WR1 and their WR2 is under an injury cloud. They also lost their TE early in the season. It may be a case of last man standing. Atlanta are susceptible to the run which helps his case.

Tevin Coleman, RB, Atlanta, $5,800

Keep an eye on the status of Devonta Freeman who suffered a stinger to his shoulder last week. This might gift majority of touches to Coleman.

Jack Doyle, TE, Indianapolis, $5,600

Doyle put up a 12-121-1 statline last week and comes up against Houston who allow the sixth most fantasy points to TEs. He’s a favourite target of Brissett averaging over 10 targets his last three games.

Marlon Mack, RB, Indianapolis, $5,600

Mack’s touches have slowly increased this season and for the past two weeks he has out-touched Frank Gore. Scored 13.8 points last week and faces a stingey Houston defence, but they’ve just lost their QB which throws game script up in the air.

Kenyan Drake, RB, Miami, $4,500

With Ajayi shipped off to Philly, Drake becomes the new leader of the backfield. He’s fast, but he looks lean, which may affect goal-line carries.

Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City, $7,800

Funnily, Hill has produced double figure fantasy production on every other week this season. Luckily, this is one of those weeks and he meets Dallas who are giving up the fifth most fantasy points to WRs this season. Let’s see if the pattern continues.

Zac Ertz, TE, Philadelphia, $7,700

Ertz is great value this week, others may be scared off by the Denver matchup, but Kelce showed last week what’s possible.

Michael Thomas, WR, New Orleans, $7,700

Should be the main benefactor against a Tampa team allowing over 280 yards per game in the air, and the most fantasy points to wide receivers. A great stack with Brees.

Lamar Miller, RB, Houston, $7,600

Houston have lost their QB and might rely on Miller if Tom Savage can’t get anything going through the air (assuming he’s named). The Colts give up the third most fantasy points to RBs which Miller has going for him.

Adrian Peterson, RB, Arizona, $6,900

Peterson comes up against a winless 49ers who have given up the most fantasy points to RBs this season.
