Moneyball’s $5000 Sunday Funday is upon us!

The best way to get your mind of your sucky Fantasy team is to make a new one with Moneyball’s Sunday Funday! That’s what I’m doing anyway.

Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) is one of the fastest growing games in Australia. Our mates at Moneyball are the leaders in the industry and run many different formats, including competitions for every AFL game across the season.

Today, we focus on Sunday Funday, which covers three games which you can use a combination of players to create your team. Basically, using the salary cap, you select players to form a team (like you would in AFL Fantasy) and depending on how they score (+3 kick, +4 tackle… normal Fantasy scoring), your team will be ranked and from your $15 entry fee, you can win big bucks.

POOL $5,000 with $650 for 1st,  2nd receives $310 and so on right down to $34.18 for players in 89th place.

Starts: Sunday 1.10pm

Includes:
Cats v Roos
Dees v Blues
Power v Dockers

Nothing better than a Sunday session, so here are my top six tips to take a piece of the prize pool

The writing was on the wall after the pre season and it certainly played out in round one with Clayton Oliver (MID, $6,500) pumping out a career high 122. This week he comes up against the Blues who gave up plenty of points to the Tigers midfielders last week. Absolute bargain for anyone coming off 36 touches.

Jack Viney )MID, $8,600) got off to a slow start to the year by his lofty standards and hopefully that means many Moneyballers will stay away. We all know what the young hard nut is capable of, and he had 125 from  27 touches on the Blues last year and there is no reason he won’t do it again.

Matthew Kreuzer (RUC, $6,500) carried over his JLT form to the season proper with an outstanding first match in which he scored 120. Although he is not likely to reach these lofty hights this week, he is a great option for the price. Buyer beware… He comes up against big Maxy Gawn (RUC, $9,600) who is coming off 49 hit outs, and although Kruz doesn’t rely on hit outs alone… you may still be better to just pay up despite Gawn’s unappealing history against the Blues.

As far as Fantasy friendly roles go, George Horlin Smith (MID, $4,500) had every opportunity to put together a good score last week playing predominantly through the midfield. He only finished on 58, but I think he can better that significantly against the Roos.

If you want to get the win, you need a player to go big, so once again I can’t go past the most expensive guy in the competition Patrick Dangerfield (MID, $10,000). Last week the Eagles had five players score triple figures against the Roos and last year Danger had 187 on them, while averaging 130 at Etihad. Lock.

Ah, it’s Happy Hour, must be time for my shout…

One of the value picks of the day has to be Alex Neal-Bullen (MID, $4,700) who has always had scoring potential but lacked opportunity. Last week he certainly made the most of his opportunity with 23 touches, six tackles, five marks and a goal for 110. I’m not sure he can go that high again, but I know it’s definitely worth having a crack at that price.
