Pies v Giants

Brodie Grundy RUC, $10,900

Don’t even flirt with the idea of saving money in the ruck department and just lock in the Pig with your first selection and work around it. He comes into this game in typically fine form with scores of 149 and 130 in his last two but it was his most recent match up with the Giants that gives him ‘must have’status. When they played a few weeks ago the Giants tried to double team Grundy with a one two punch of Simpson and Mummy and their results weren’t good. The Ruck Pig had 48 hit outs and a goal to go with 31 possessions four marks and nine tackles for a whopping 181.

Tim Taranto MID, $9,700

Prior to a disappointing game last week, Taranto was in great form with scores of 110, 111, 104 and 113 leading into that game. Now we know he is a player that flourished with increased opportunity and with Whitfield and Greene now missing on top of Coniglio and Ward… he needs to get busy and busy he is capable of being. When he played the Pies earlier this year he dominated with 31 possessions and a massive 14 tackles for a score of 145. Definitely worth a look as your premium midfielder.

Jamie Elliot FWD, $6,600

The exciting Pie looks fit and healthy and as a result he is in career best form which provides us with an under priced forward if he can continue to roll. He is hitting the scoreboard regularly and taking plenty of marks which has resulted in scores of 117, 113 and 92 in his last three.

John Noble MID, $4,200

With bargains hard to find at this stage of the season, Noble forces our hand as one of the only cheap players capable of contributing a decent score. His three most recent scores are 74, 77 and 72 which puts him in the same category ad Grundy… Albeit for a different reason.

Harrison Himmelberg FWD, $5,300

Now this is a Hail Mary in the search for a value pick in order to select a couple of premiums. It could certainly end in disaster after managing to score just 19 last week against the Lions but if found it much better going against the Pies earlier in the year with an impressive tally of 98 after taking nine marks and snagging four goals.
