Yo yo yo… last week my Saturday Slam team did pretty well and with just one entry I finished a very respectable 58th which place me right amongst the cash. So what I’m basically saying is… these are the tips you needs.
ON OFFER: $5,000 with $650 for 1st and $34.18 for 89th
STARTS: 1:45pm
Games include…
Hawthorn v Adelaide
GWS v Gold Coast
Brisbane v Essendon
West Coast v St Kilda
Now… anyone can pick premium superstars like Zach Merrett and Rockliff… so this week I have focused on the guys who present serious value for the Saturday games. Select some value and then build your team around these guys with the guns of the competition.
Andrew Gaff (MID, $8,200)
Get ready for another huge score off Gaff this week. He had 144 last week from 13 marks and will have it his own way again. In his last three games against the Saints he has scored 99, 125 and 115. This game is at Domain Stadium, his favourite ground where he can produce big things.
Jarrod Witts (RUC, $5,300)
Although I think he’ll get monstered by Mumford, Witts still should pick up points from outside of the ball-ups. He claimed 9 tackles last week in his career highest score of 104. Seriously, at this price he is a dead set steal.
Jamie Cripps (FWD, $6,300)
It’s no secret that I’m loading up with Eagle’s players this week as they play the Saints who gave Melbourne 8×100+ scores last week. Cripps knocked up 95 last week in their win against the Roos and there is no reason why he can’t do the same or even more when the Eagles smack down the Saints. This game will get nasty and these ‘fringe’ type players should produce great numbers.
Jarryd Roughead (FWD, $5,600)
Now, he only scored 79 last week and although we hoped for more, at his price we just have to take it… and move on. He’s priced cheaper than Travis Colyer and Jonno Patton and to even use his name in the same sentence as these guys is a crime. Back him in once again, despite the fact he’ll be a very popular pick.
Darcy Parish (MID, $6,900)
25 disposals, 7 marks and 6 tackles were great stats for this second year player last week for his 114pts as he tore the Hawks apart and It will be even easier this week against the Lions. He scored 82 on them last year but after the pre-season he’s had, he’ll be huge again now that he has the support of Heppell and Jobe by his side.
Sharrod Wellingham (DEF, $5,500)
The third and final Eagle is my little secret weapon and my dirty happy hour special.
He’s so cheap and capable of big things.
Although personally I’m not a huge fan of Wellingham, I am a fan of money and therefore I must think with my head and not my beautiful heart.
He scored 72 last week, but over the pre-season he was awesome and tends to step up when things get easy.
He had 94 on the Saints last year and this game will be blow-out and I’m tipping old mate Wellingham to cash in with a 100+ score and at that price… he’s a steal.
