The title certainly represents my co-hosts side and not mine, but as my one year on two years being a headcase rule tends to follow, the cap hunt may be on again in 2026. It’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the Weekend Wash-Up!
LEGENDS
N.Daicos (124) – He looked off all night, then turned on the jets in Q4. I’m bloody concerned for the next 2 weeks, but he has been nothing short of brilliant so far. Wait for that tagged 70 if you don’t own him, it’s coming.
Houston (118) – I had some slight concerns when he was taken off kick ins a few weeks ago by Jeremy Howe, but he was sensational on Thursday. I think he’s a safe 95 guy at the very least and an easy hold until his bye.
Cmac (114) – He was at the top of my shopping list before that 60, but it turns out that was an outlier. The Hawks are the best scoring team in fantasy football, and Macdonald is just a damn good player whether he is at CBAs or not. L5 98.4 and I think he can maintain close to those numbers, awesome pick.
Jackson (129) – Pushing Grundy for R1 as a solo ruck, with Cox playing forward and just chopping out. Looking every bit a 115+ guy and Sean Darcy is out for at least the next month. Upgrade to him with complete confidence.
Dale (129) – What a score and some instant reward! I just seriously need someone to explain to me why he was so sh*t to start the season. I can’t explain it so I can’t bring him in, but he was undoubtedly value last week. For closer to $900k for a perennial 90 guy, I’m not interested now.
Berry (156) – A Sam Berry 156, I never thought I would see the day. Don’t be tempted in classic, but what a draft pick! Rachele isn’t getting back in.
Butters (112) – Not my finest trade… He has been awesome! Contract year.
Milera (110) – Robbed by Rachele of the match winning goal, but Wayne was epic in the showdown. A L5 of 96 is brilliant! Great pick.
Cook (92) – Cooky you absolute legend, he had me on my feet for that goal. He’s just a great player who’s growing in confidence, sitting very comfortably him at F6 for now. The Tigers are up next.
Wilmot (134) – Draft matchup winner alongside Berry.
Zorko (123) – Porko was always set to feast in a matchup like this, it was looking like it might have been even bigger. The move to bring him in earlier in the season was fair, he’s a lock top 6 defender and I think we take it on again when he bottoms out.
Ashcroft (121) – Will is looking different this season, that wasn’t the train tracks Ashcroft I saw last year. He loves those little hit up leads and Brisbane honour them, it’s his third week in a row with 8+ marks! Gun.
Bailey (117) – It’s bloody hard to trust a player capable of a 39, but he has surrounded that with 4 big tons. He has 50 disposals and 7 goals in the last 2 weeks!
McCluggage (109) – Clug got 9 coaches votes on the weekend and is looking back to his best and nearing peak fitness. It’s a no brainer and a genuine must have at just over $800k. Don’t overthink it, get him in.
Yeo (104) – Outside of a predictable injury that you could cover with the TOG% rule, Yeo is averaging 87 as a forward. Playing full time midfield. At just over $700k. I’m just saying…
Xerri (131) – The man with the biggest ruck ceiling in Fantasy dominated again, but we have to stress the fact he has had the easiest ruck matchups possible. X has always dominated the green matchups and struggled in tougher ones, so we’re about to find out a lot. Grundy is up next, I still think I’d rather LJ.
Bruhn (101) – Tanner is dominating with a L5 99 and 3 tons in his last 4 games. One of the very few successful midpriced picks! Hold him until the byes.
Newman (122) – I went for Nic Newman over Dale given his previous 2 full seasons he proved he’s a 100 guy, and we know he has a ceiling in him. A 120+ score at that price is game changing, make Newman a priority value upgrade if you missed out.
Grundy (128) – Starting him R1 wasn’t my favourite experience, but the ruck pig is back and as good as ever with a L5 of 128. Continuing on from last year.
Heeney (110) – Doesn’t get the plaudits he deserves because he plays in Sydney, and for some reason he doesn’t get the plaudits in Fantasy either. Owned by just 5% of the competition, He’s averaging 121 since returning from that hamstring injury. Crazy numbers and a lock top 8 mid.
Sparrow (101) – It makes me sick to say it, but I guess Tom Sparrow is an option? In the guts and tackling hard, I could just never bring myself to do it.
Petracca (117) – Trac is dominating this year and with Rowell out he doesn’t look like slowing down. I would just flag the tags ahead with Saints, North and then Brisbane and Mullin following his bye. It probably won’t matter.
Whitfield (113) – If this Ash move into the midfield is real, Whitfield is about to go on an absolute tear. His fixtures are a joke and he just had 11 (!!!) kick ins. All aboard.
LOSERS
J.Daicos (82) – Welcome back the real Josh Daicos. I can’t have been the only person to have him for 25 disposals in a multi? I’ve never owned him in fantasy and after watching that Q4 effort I don’t think I ever will. Not looking very top 6…
English (78) – The llama has single handedly derailed my season. I got stuck with him injured for 3 weeks, he has returned with a breakeven of close to 1000 and hobbled around for less points than McAndrew. I’m too far gone now, just as his only two tons for the year are about to leave his price movements. Fantastic. An easy target in 2 weeks time.
Rachele (71) – It’s done. All over. 5 CBAs and with Berry dominating, Rankine moving back in and Dawson to return, it’s hard to see how it gets any better. As a forward pocket he’s a 65 guy, and that’s what we’ve seen the last 3 weeks. Tigers this week so maybe he kicks a bag, but it’s getting ugly quick.
JHF (66) – Classic Bag. Enjoy the ride.
Caldwell (41) – Jye Caldwell and Tim English are going head to head for the biggest failures of the season. What a disaster. A blessing in disguise that he can finally go.
Parish (-) – A rest?! Good lord. Well earned Darcy.
Grlj (44) – The wheels are starting to fall off, I should have gotten rid of him 3 weeks ago. Still, he has been great!
LDU (79) – I jumped overboard just in time… Harry Sheezel got the Mullin tag but it didn’t matter, and Sydney are up next. A tiger never changes his stripes.
Bazlenka (71) – As a long term Baz owner, I live with this score all day long. I guess it does show why it’s difficult to justify paying up for someone in the middle of upgrade season. Sadly I think the myth he’s untaggable has been broken and despite his poor kicking, his impact on games is undeniable. Luckily, we have a bounce back against Collingwood up next!
Dovaston (28) – Please just be a red dot next week.
Flanders (73) – Free ride bloody Flanders. Embarrassing effort lately, it’s lucky he’s a forward.
Walsh (82) – Walshy went and ruined all his good work, with this Carlton team it’s just going to be impossible for him to push those top 8 mids. He needs a change of coach.
Briggs (29) – Shoutout to an old washup friend. Embarrassing.
Steele (65) –
THIS GAME SH*TS ME
The whole Tim English sh*t show is why this game sh*ts me. The week he went down Max Gawn’s price was astronomical, Luke Jackson was playing full forward and roving mid, and I already owned Brodie Grundy.
Then as I planned to move him, Dayne Zorko did his calf and we lost half our forward lines to injury. Next thing you know, I had over one million dollars wasting away for weeks, only to actual hurt my team’s scoring when he returned. It’s just never ending. This game sh*ts me…
THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES
2154 without anything too special from my side, and a llama in the ruck. It halves my rank from 4k to 2k and over the next few weeks I have some big upgrades planned! Next week I will finally cash in my McAndrew R3 chip, this week I need to chase Cumdog. I’ll do it by upgrading Rachele instead of a rookie, as I already have McCluggage + Newman and don’t like anybody else in the $850k range. Plus I think Kozzy breaks some kind of record against the Eagles.
Serong -> Cumming
Rachele -> Kozzy
I’ll chase Nas next week against the Tiges and Bont the week after to go into the byes with some momentum! Continuing to back my rookies on field who are scoring 75+ may eventually backfire, but I’ll keep running the gauntlet after my LDU move paid off last week. What a weird season!
Good luck next weekend legends, may it finally be a bloody high scoring one…

Welcome back Matt. Sorely missed last week.
My apologies, the long weekend really blew out… Good to be back!
Mine extended until Wednesday, was planning to get to the Perth gig.😂
Agree
Yep totally agree…no ww last week goes into the “this game sh#ts me” basket !
Matt.
Another great read this week.
Caldwell is/was my worst starting pick this year. So he’s going this week. Who would you recommend? Max Holmes and have $60k in the bank or go to Cluggage and have 200ish for a potential Ash upgrade next week.
Also who’s the best roo to target this week. I’m looking at Murray??
Good man Anthony! McCluggage over Holmes for sure. Rookies tough this week, wait for Thursday teams
good to see you back.
Great read as always, last week team was flying.
This week the players forgot to catch the plane. :(
Oh well will keep plugging along.
Appreciate it, that’s more often than not how it goes. We keep going
Cheers for the read, had a few Lola.
Considering bringing in JHF after this round, don’t really want much part of it, but he’s a t6 forward at this stage 😅
Jack Steele doing a heel switch. Mr Reliable cost me league 😅😭
Haha I’ll bring the bag in to, just after his bye
