G’day legends – welcome back to Calvin’s Captains for another round. Now – if you are in Adelaide this weekend, make sure you come and find us. We are rocking a Friday night show but this bad boy is nearly sold out – grab tickets HERE and get along to say hi and grab a beer or 10 at the same time.
Perth – don’t forget we are coming your way soon too.

🏴☠️ 1 – Smith v WCE
@ Norwood, SUN 12:30pm
Coming off scores of 124, 154 and 130… this one appears to be a no brainer. Lately we have seen Heeney 125 and Sheezel 128 score with ease against the Eagles who rank #4 easiest for MIDs this year. Smith scored 147 against them last year and this could be his areas again.
🏴☠️ 2 – Gawn v ESS
@ Adelaide Oval, SAT 1:15pm
Form is hot with 121, 141, 127 and 109 – all against tricky opposition. Strangely though, Essendon rate #1 easiest for MIDs to score against but #1 hardest for rucks after failures from English 51 (injured), Xerri 55, Sweet 67 and Meek 65. Don’t let this worry you! Gawn loves playing at Adelaide Oval where he scored 89, 129 and 118 (Essendon Gather Round) last year.
🏴☠️ 3 – Steele v ESS
@ Adelaide Oval, SAT 1:15pm
Why not? Essendon are #1 easy for MIDs and Steele is going at 118 a game at the moment. We know he is averaging 9 tackles a game, but it’s the 4.9 marks a game that really catches my eye. Recently against the Bombers we have seen Bont 130, Kennedy 109… Sheezel 136, LDU 125 and Powell 115 all dominate. Steele has a great record against the Bombers from his St Kilda days and should be backed in here.
🏴☠️ 4 – Ash v RICH
@ Barossa Park, SUN 3:15pm
Richmond rate #7 easiest for DEFs this year but they also haven’t played anyone that could boost those numbers. Last year, they were so easy it wasn’t funny. Lately, it was only Uwland 133 and Jeffery 111 who took advantage of the match-up and let’s not forget that Ash is coming off 104, 137 and 136. He had 112 against them last year and should be great again.
🏴☠️ 5 – Zorko v KANG
@ Barossa Park, SAT 12:35pm
Zorko loves playing the Roos – a team he has hit 100 against in 10 of his last 11 games. He had 137 against them last year and 111 in 2024. His numbers here are nuts. Plus… this pig is coming off 116. Now the catch is… North have been tough this year, and rate as the most restrictive team to score points against and Ollie Hollands is the only DEF to hit 100 against the Roos this year. Small flag for a guy who usually has his way with them.
FYI – Holmes was at No.4 but that finger could be a concern.
Here are how my top-10 went last week – not great from the old pirate so fingers crossed you hit one of the big ones and not the rubbish of Tim English like I did – oh well, you win some (not many) and you lose some.
