The Weekend Wash-Up | The Tide Is Turning | Round 3

Some monster scores from our premiums lead this week’s weekend wash-up for Round 3.

We’re 3 rounds into it and to be honest, I don’t have a clue where we’re at during these byes. It’s time for your weekly fantasy therapy session, it’s time for the Weekend Wash-Up.

LEGENDS

LDU (125) – 4 quarters of genuine elite football from the most underrated player in the comp, I’ve always loved LDU. I am also clearly taking the p*ss, but so far he has been tackling well and despite the Bombers tax, 11 marks is a massive tick. A good pick so far

N.Daicos (140) – Shook hands with Finn at the start of the game and said see you at the final siren mate, probably not the best idea. 36 disposals and 2 goals once again. He is $1.2M now with a breakeven of 87 and is averaging 134. If he doesn’t get hard tagged 120 is his floor.

Bazlenka (154) – We speak of Nick Daicos as a must have, but he’s going to cop some hard tags at some point… Baz could average 130 this season. I can’t believe how little chat there is about him so far this week, I have him ahead of Bont comfortably long-term.

Miers (123) – Messi… The definition of getting it done. Quarter pounder in the last with 7 tackles is incredible work. You couldn’t go wrong this week with your trade ins this week (I hope), and the fact he was sent forward in the last and had his best quarter shows he can score anyway. Great pick.

Rachele (114) – Rashnaldo… After watching him closely on Thursday, I can confidently say the hate watch is over. I think he’s an absolute must. With these midpricers I’m very happy to sit back, watch him prove himself, and trade him in this week with 100% confidence. He was unreal and I don’t think he loses the role to a point where he can’t average 90+.

Homes (111) – Homma could’ve had more if it wasn’t for the bout of SEBS he had in Q3 and Jack Martin’s inability to handball (If you were an owner, you saw that -12). Will be a great pick.

Stewart (109) – Beef is back.

Worrell (102) – Stewart 2.0!

Whitfeld (129) – 39 disposals and 7 marks for a monster score as Whit gets his first ton of the year. It should come as no surprise and at $1.029M, this might be as cheap as he gets.

J.Daicos (120) – The fact that he went off injured with a shoulder very early makes this score even more impressive. As long as he gets up next week, he was clearly the correct Rozee replacement.

Callaghan (116) – Finn had his first big game of the season this week with 35 disposals and he’s a great option to target coming off his bye. Tags are the only concern.

Berry (132) – Always handy in draft, he was hard tagging NWM in the 1H, dropped the tag at half time and proceeded to run straight over the top of Ross Lyon and his haram ball. Berry belted him all day regardless.

Ashcroft (120) – After a predictable slow start to the season, Will had 53 points from 16 disposals in Q4 after a Chris Fagan rocket. It’s pretty goated that he can turn it on when he likes, just be concerned that when it’s not a final he can turn it off at any point.

Sinclair (106) – As reliable as they come, he is in for a massive year.

Treacy (120) – Cyclone Treacy is just so good, arguably a top 2 forward in the comp. Second best hands in the league behind Jobe.

Taranto (114) – He was awesome in this game playing guts and resting up forward, great draft pick.

Bolton (112) – Yes the score and 71% CBAs is awesome. But guys, it’s Shai Bolton. Buyer beware, he will be a loser within a month.

Sheezel (136) – Dominant, one of his best games and that’s saying something. To make it sweeter Sheez went at 88% to shut up the total morons in old man media who want him to play forward pocket. Epic score and a skipper for most of us.

Parker (135) – Half back and DOMINATING. Luke parker, you couldn’t do it, could you…? It’s getting close to Ziebell areas, if only he was a forward.

McKercher (116) – Yes it’s Essendon tax, but Colby is back in the role. A 95 average can be the comfortable expectation and he is on my upgrade radar after next week.

Duursma (86) – I’d say he looks like somebody but I might get myself in trouble… Let’s go with Goddard. Superstar and a good lesson on not overthinking gun rookies while we pick midpricers. He’s awesome!

Gawn (141) – In his 250th game he went massive once more, showing why he has been the premier ruck of the comp for so long. 58 hitouts and 23 disposals, just a monster performance and someone we all should have started the year with. Seriously, what were we thinking? Brundy, goodness me.

Steele (135) – This is very quickly beginning to feel like a failed hate watch… 16 tackles is an incredible effort and while that’s not sustainable, Jack was good as the Dees came back and he will be a great pick. Fair play.

Pickett (134) – 33 disposals, 7 marks, 4 tackles… Kozzy is a freak talent. There will be some poor scores, but I think there will be more pop scores. Genuine gun of the comp.

LOSERS

Bruhn (53) – Poor, really poor. That’s going to happen with these low TOG% players in a tight game, most of Q4 on the pine. ON NOTICE.

Roberts (82)He’s a tough watch at the moment and whilst Archie is scoring OK, he’s not scoring well either. And we cannot accept mediocrity for much longer.

Milera (68) – And we really expected a 10th year breakout. I’ll put my hand up, I liked the pick after Round 1. I don’t love it so much now, serious lack of thirst.

Rankine (21) – There’s total disasters, and there is this. Blanketed by ocean sauce mullin.

NWM (99) – He will be better than this, but let’s face it, Nas needs to wake the f**k up. He wasn’t great again in this one.

Zorko (95) – Ross Lyon is a **** of a thing. A true COAT. Sending his 2nd best player to tag a 37 year old man and just make sure he doesn’t get any junk. What a pisser. Josh Daicos was the play, but Pies are up next. He did well to get to this score…

Windhager (78) – A better player than Mr Anti Football himself Ross gives him credit for, he just can’t reach his ceiling playing genuine back pocket on Charlie Cameron. Pack up your locker Windy, but I don’t regret the pick.

Neale (61) – Tagged out by Hugo Garcia, always the issue. You just can’t bring him in.

TDK (56) – What is this bloke paid? Seriously, embarrassing. Not only is he a fraud himself, but he has also ruined Rowdog (56) and the Saints. Terrible.

Draper (42) – Best of luck in draft…

Jackson (81) – 52% CBAs………….. And an 80 against the Tigers without a ruck. That’s bitterly disappointing. Not good enough.

Banks (47) – Breakout candidate Sam Banks is about to book a one way ticket to the VFL. Draft disaster.

Armstrong (1) – Tony Snell.

Caldwell (86) – No Dons. None. Absolutely cooked.

Parish (73) – I’ve seen enough, he should be dropped and that’s that. Terrible.

Dovaston (36) – He’s sh*t unfortunately. Take away the Essendon tax and that’s barely a 20.

Xerri (55) – They say a week is a long time in footy… It’s an even longer time in fantasy. I don’t think owners nightmares would’ve come up with a scenario so horrific that X would come up against Blakiston on the back of a 150, score 55 and get himself suspended for multiple weeks for wiping blood on somebody’s face?! I actually don’t even know where you go from there. Or who you try and get. Maybe just close the app and come back fresh on Thursday. That’s not right. Not right. Moronic.

Butters (86) – He has one foot out the door. Are there long term concerns? I think so. Disappointing.

THIS GAME SH*TS ME

Just when you think it can’t get worse… It can. Gawn v Grundy has cost me 185 points and counting, what a momumental **** up. Over to you Brodie, next week has to be a minimum 130 or we’ll be treated to some more great content. I’m nervous. This game sh*ts me…

THE OTHER BITS AND PIECES

1773, overall rank 12270. It sounds ugly, but I haven’t been as confident in my team structure since the year of the cap. If I turn up with a shocking score next week, things are going to take a dark turn for the worse… Your hate watch might just be successful.

This is the final week I’m going straight to the top, Bazlenka is coming into my side and I will be sleeping like a baby with my captaincy choices each week.

Windy – Bazlenka

Petracca -> Rachele

I’ll be looking towards some more straight forward down/up moves from next week with value guys like Colby and Nic Newman possible targets.

Unless you own Xerri we made it through last week unscathed, let’s hope we can do it again! See you next week legends, thank god the byes are almost done.
