LEGENDS – before we get into this – just a quick thank you for another year of AFL Fantasy. As you know, this pirate has been pumping out captain work for many years and you guys are always here to support me each and every week.
Thanks again – it’s been a journey in 2025, and I’m hoping to be back, bigger and better than EVER before in 2026. But for now – this pirate needs a break. Thanks legends!
Calvin’s Captains – Top 10 (Round 23)
🏴☠️ 1 – Rowan Marshall 121 🔥
🏴☠️ 2 – Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera 81 ❄️
🏴☠️ 3 – Tim English 129 🔥
🏴☠️ 4 – Marcus Bontempelli 131 💥
🏴☠️ 5 – Harry Sheezel 186 💥
🏴☠️ 6 – Josh Dunkley 91 ❄️
🏴☠️ 7 – Jack Sinclair 81 ❄️
🏴☠️ 8 – Max Gawn 132 💥
🏴☠️ 9 – Lachie Whitfield 103 🤏
🏴☠️ 10 – Jordan Dawson 91 ❄️
🏴☠️ 1 – Smith v RICH
@ MCG, SAT 4:15pm
Sheezel 186, LDU 162 (94 disposals between them)… Windhager 133, Macrae 101… Anderson 123, Fiorini 107, Rowell 106… it’s not hard to see why the Tigers are #1 easy for MIDs and Smith is a guy who has averaged 118 in his last four games this year. Back at the MCG where he has had 136, 119, 132 and 84 this year, another huge game is on the cards… if Baz turns up like he should. FYI – he didn’t play them in round 17 this year and on that day the Cats won by 72 and seven of them hit 100-plus with Guthrie 125 and Holmes 122 leading the way.
🏴☠️ 2 – Bont v FREO
@ Marvel, SUN 3:15pm
131, 120, 97 and 146 is some serious form… and now look at what Bont has done to the Dockers in the past with 142 (last year), 96, 116, 148 and 145. Add to this – they need to win and Bont will be out to fire on all cylinders. At Marvel, he has now hit 120-plus in five of his last six games and will be huge again. They need to win!
🏴☠️ 3 – Marshall v GWS
@ ENGIE, SUN 12:20pm
Briggs can been a match-up we can target as he sits #7 easiest after scores against him of Witts 95, Xerri 83, English 129 and Grundy 130. Rowan scored 70 in this game in round 5 (he was cooked earlier in the year), but before that he has had 138 and 138 (both v Briggs). His form is elite with 121, 135 and 142 and he must be considered as an option once again! Safe!
🏴☠️ 4 – Daicos v MELB
@ MCG, FRI 7:10pm
Melbourne are #6 easy for MIDs and earlier this year they used Langdon on Nick and the tag role was good holding him to 83. Interesting to see if they do it again, now they have a new coach. He did have 157 and 62 on the Dees last year and recently against them we have seen Moore 123… Libba 125, Bont 120 and Richards 110 all score with ease. Should be great and a super VC option… but the tag could be back… high risk, high reward. But if he’s not tagged – you’ll want a piece of it
🏴☠️ 5 – Whitfield v StK
@ ENGIE, SUN 12:20pm
Saints #3 easiest for DEFs and Whitfield had 86 against them this year in Norwood and 120 in 2024. Usually a fruitful match-up for DEFs and last week we saw Redman 143 (12m), Clarke 98 (10m) and Laverde 63 (30% TOG – 9 marks) do as they please and before that it was Colby 119 and Dainel 115. Serious points on the table in this one and Whitfield’s last scores at ENGIE have been 109 and 120. Rates very highly.
🏴☠️ 6 – Dawson v North Melbourne – against a team rated #4 easiest for MIDs to score against. Dawson scored 85 on the Roos earlier this year but has smashed them in the past with 122, 136, 129 and 120 prior to that.
🏴☠️ 7 – Grundy v West Coast – Concussion last week drops him from 3 to 7 here… English 129, ROB 103 and Gawn 113 have all recently feasted on Flynn and the Eagles and if the RuckPig is back… ready to go – he will as well.
🏴☠️ 8 – Holmes v Richmond – scored 122 on the Tigers in round seven but is coming off 78 and 85, trust levels are dropping. He also prefers playing at GMHBA, because at the MCG this year he has only posted 131, 79, 65 and 73.
🏴☠️ 9 – English v Fremantle – Coming off 129, 106 and 129 he meets them in form and in the past he has had 114 (this year), 124, 141, 108 and 129 – doesn’t struggle and shouldn’t again.
🏴☠️ 10 – Gulden v West Coast – West Coast #2 easiest for MIDs and it’s about time thing guy responds after 88 and 93 in his last two and just 1×100+ in his last six. This should be right and Gulden had 127 on the Eagles last year.
