- Fry on Fry’s Cash Cows – Rd. 12: “I’d usually default to English and Wardlaw, but I don’t hate the Witts/Greenwood play for bye balance” May 31, 12:29
- Fry on Fry’s Cash Cows – Rd. 12: “I prefer No. 2 mate” May 31, 12:28
- Jeza on Fry’s Cash Cows – Rd. 12: “Another option is: 4. Wilmot to Mullin, Van Royen to Binns and Drury to Greenwood” May 31, 11:59
- The B on My Team 2023: Round 12 (BYES 1): “Stocker to Whitfield Or Fiorini to Rowell” May 31, 11:40
Dayne Zorko to Rory Laird
Connor Macdonald to Harry Himmelberg
Mitch Owens to a rookie.
Cant complain with those trades, unless there is another red dot instead of Owens? Hes still a chance to play in the coming weeks
Score 1779. Improved rank from 9k to 7k despite having Owens as my 18th man. Think I’ll be able to cull Butters this week.. Might have to say bye to SDK to improve forwards despite his solid bench cover
Zorko to Whitfield
Petracca to Laird
Coleman to Himmelberg
or Hold Trac and get rid of a red dot elsewhere to bring in Fwd rookie under 300K and possibly bring in a better defender in Doch or Daws
So option 2 would be:
Zorko to Daws/Doch
Red dot to Laird
Coleman to FWD rookie
option 2 makes ur team better
I’d wait on Whitfield.
GWS had an extremely high possession match with a LOT of easy uncontested marks which inflated scores (you’re not gonna see himmelberg score 160 every week!)
So option 2 for me with Doch
Can bring in one of Super Hewy, Sinclair or Dawson.
Have a soft spot for Hewy, but is Dawson’s run home too good to ignore? And same could be said of Sinclair’s form.
hew, daw, sinc. in that order.
cerra out helps, hew consistant, daw run good, players back help positioning and role, sinc players returning may lose potential to points
I would say Sinclair is actually at the top of that list. He’s had a combined 2 CBA’s in the last 3 games when he’s averaged 116 in that time. Steele is also 3 weeks away and wouldn’t change Sinclair’s halfback role.
Getting 2 of these guns in the next 3 weeks, round 15 and round 17
Which order to get in those weeks out of Andrew Brayshaw, Rory Laird, Callum Mills and Clayton Oliver?
laird, bray, oliver, mills (in that order)
mills v port(hardest team+away)
Laird very nice draw
Brayshaw (role and hunger)
Oliver. just a beast (already an owner and laird in this week…plans for bray next week)
Who to Trade Out?
Butters or DeGoey?
Is having 5 giants in my team too many?
It is between Whitfield + cash or Doc for me. What do you guys think?
Whitfield is still is a risk as we have only seen one game and that game had some of the highest possession counts we’ve seen all year (himmleburg wont be getting 160s everyweek)
I love the saftey of doc and the guarantee he will be a top 3 defender for the rest of the year plus a high ceiling. So doc for me.
which is the better combo;
Whitfield and Hobbs
Stewart and Durdin
Durdin is bleeding cash hard! B/e went from 48 to 63, last 3 went from 49 to 41. Clarke(RIC) or Davies way better. Or wait for new rookies to be named.
Team after trades this week of Bailey > Whitfield via DPP, S. Hayes to a 190k rookie & Jeffrey > Angus Brayshaw ready for coming out of the byes. Team will be
Def: Crisp, Brayshaw, Sicily, Houston, Zorko, Boyd (Stein, Parnell)
Mid: Neale, Kelly, Miller, Macrae, Whitfield, Petracca, Mitchell, cripps
Ruck: English, Gawn (190k rookie)
Fwd: Dunkley, Treloar, Taranto, Brodie, Coniglio, Duncan (Hamilton, McEntee)
Help on next moves and who to bring in
Don’t play through the byes
Bank- 1.2 M
Def- crisp, short, Hewitt, Sicily, de koning, wehr
( Cleary, khakis )
Mid- mills, Oliver, Miller, mccrea, Neale, Hately, Clark, soligo
( stephens, owens )
Ruck- Gawn, pruess
( Hayes )
Fwd- Dunkley, trelour, Conigs, Cameron, Martin, Hobbs
( Jeffery, durdin )
with that cash i would sell DeKoning and clark for upgrades, they are close to topping, kelly and doc would be my choice, and maybe durdin for english if you can afford, hobbs to bench, depending on which hayes is ruck bench, if saints i would sell him before durdin, if power you might not have enough.
My early trades are:
JHF, Durdin, Butters to Clarke, English & Duncan.
I’ll have a likely 18/19 to play this week, but I want to move Butters and Durdin while I can still get something out of them.
Leaves me coming out of the byes with:
Short, Crisp, Hewey, Houston, Sicily*, Daicos*, (Wehr, Skinner)
Mills, Miller, Petracca*, Macrae, Neale*, Cripps, Mitchell*, Hately, (Soligo, Clarke, Owens)
Gawn*, Cameron*, (Hayes)
Dunkley, English, Parker, Cogs, Duncan, Brodie*, (Clarke, Callow*)
*bye this week
Considering trading Keays down to Hately for $$, his price rise and even points – the differential is not that much atm.
Keays could be a keeper, Hately is not, so feels like a backward step. If you really want to dump Keays, go to Laird instead.
R13 Score – 1,747
Total Points – 26,453
R13 Rank – 9,927
Overall Rank – 7,255
R13 Team (after loopholes)
J. Crisp – J. Sicily – S. Pendlebury – D. Houston – G. Hewett – J. Wehr (P. Parnel – T. Stewart)
L. Neale – T. Mitchell – P. Cripps – B. Crouch – C. Oliver – M. Owens – N. Daicos – D.Zorko (J. Macrae – J. Soligo)
M. Gawn (C) – J. Witts (S. Hayes)
M. Windhager – – L. Parker – W. Brodie – D. Cameron – S. Coniglio – S. De Koning – J. Dunkley (J. Jeffery – L. Parker)
G. Clark > M. Ownes
R. McComb > S. Coniglio
L. Cleary > J. Wehr
$163k in bank
Current R14 plan:
Aiming to be able to field a team of premos/premo-likes once I do my R15 trades, so aiming for upgrading Pendles to Sinclair (or Doch if I can get enough cash), and downgrading Daicos and Mead to have money in the bank for next week. Should hopefully have a team of 20 on field this week.
Current Bye Structure with no trades
14 – 17 (1 didn’t play R11, M. Owens out this week)
Up 1,048 spots in overall rank. Keep improving each week which is all I can ask for and now in top 8K. Given I only just scraped in to the top 30K last year I feel like I am already a winner.
Frustrations from the weekend:
– Had to trade Cleary rather than SDK because I stuffed up my bench structure and couldn’t switch after the first game. Not a huge loss given he is probably out of the squad now. SDKs BE is low again so might still make some cash before I trade him out come R15
– I went with Gawn as C, as I changed it between him and Oliver 5 times over the weekend. Is what it is.
DEF: Short, Hewett, Sinclair, Zorko, Sicily (SDK, Boyd)
MID: Brayshaw, Mills, Neale, Petracca, Cripps, Whitfield, Hately, Clark (Soligo, Owens)
RUC: Gawn, English (S Hayes)
FWD: Dunkley, Bont, Cogs, Cameron, Brodie, Hobbs (Callow, Rosas)
Petracca —-> Laird
Zorko —-> Himmelberg
Clark —-> Parnell
This will mean having to field 2 rookies after byes though :\
Zorko —-> Laird
SDK —-> Parnell
Clark —-> Clarke
Only 1 rookie on field this time
Any thoughts appreciated :)
missing a defender, i like option 1
Sorry, add Dawson into the backline
Butters -> Himmelberg
Hayes -> Wehr
Moore -> English
Reports Marchbank done a Knee?
Good Luck IN 2023
DEF: Dawson, Docherty, Sicily, Hewett, Rich, Zorko (SDK, Wehr)
MID: Neale, Oliver, Miller, Macrae, Kelly, Cripps, Clark, Hobbs (Owens, McComb)
RUC: Gawn, English (Hayes)
FWD: Dunkley, Coniglio, Butters, Coleman, Brodie, Martin (Windhager, Durdin)
Zorko > Whitfield
Butters > Hately
Owens > Clarke/Parnell
Will leave 1 rookie, plus Martin, Coleman and Hately after the byes.
Zorko > Whitfield
Coleman > Himmleberg
Hayes > Teakle
Will leave 2 rookies, plus Martin, Butters and Himmleberg after the byes.
Libba or Himmelberg?
Bring in Dawson, Stewart or Miller this week? And in what order
Dawson this week (has gone big against GC before)
Miller in for round 16
Stewart after his breakeven comes down? but could come in whenever
Need some help with trades:
Option 1: Durdin -> J clarke, Zorko -> Doch, Brodie ->Duncan
Option 2: Durdin -> J clarke, Zorko -> Whit, Brodie -> Guthrie
Option 3: De koning -> J clarke, Zorko -> whit, Brodie ->Laird
Any thoughts would be appreciated
Option 3 looks best to me, option 2 is also good
I was gonna say option 1, getting best defender and surely Duncan cant be that bad for the next 4 weeks at least, great matchups. But you probably cant go wrong option 3 either.
Looking to downgrade J Smith who isn’t getting a game to a base price def/mid so I can swing Daicos into the backline. Are any of them even remotely a chance of getting a game at some point?
ESS – Ambrosio is being talked up
I would take D’Ambrosio if he’s picked but Durdin is definitely in and should be in the side for a while due to injuries
Bring in bont and Duncan or himmel and English?
Hayes – Teakle
Zorko – whitfield
Darcy – English
Get in Himmelberg for heeney even though heeney isnt on a bye – but i gotta get rid of him
zorko – Doch
hayes – graham
Martin or Butters to Himmelberg?
Butters.. Get rid of him, proven spud..
Stewart Whitfield or Sinclair?
Too late to bring Hately in?
If he is named on the wing/middle, not too late
Is it worth keeping K.Coleman and trading him out after Melbourne game? Good match up for defenders or am I crazy.
Moving my final mid Rookie off ground for – Guthrie, Mills, or Laird?
Laird and Doch or Mills and Whitfield?
Laird and Doch for me Spud
First two trades are Gawn to English and Carroll to Teakle, giving 18 on field (I have no R3, only Cameron, English & Preuss, so I can’t have one of them sitting on the bench next week – have to get Teakle!).
Now I have 200 to spend and not sure what trade to make.
I have no rookies on field next week so I am looking at upgrading: Brodie, Lipinski, Zorko.
Any comment which can go now? I feel Brodie is well below his b/e and only scoring 80s, so I feel he’s first out – either down to Himmelberg for some quick cash, or up to anyone.
Forget it! As I write this I’m realising – Brodie to Laird looks good!
is press better than Macrae whilst factoring in value
