Wednesday 30th April – NEWS

Its week 3 of the AFL, and we have another Thursday night clash teams list tonight with Doggies vs Swans. Teamsheets to be announced below.

Make sure you check the injury list here

Rory Laird is listed as available and should be named for crows,Cerra and also Nic Martin should be inclusions after missing a week due to protocols.

The big news at Dons this week was Merrett will be out injured for awhile, but there is a chance that rookie Ben Hobbs might get a run, with murmurs Shiel is still in doubt. Sam De Koning will be available for selection after concussion week out, but confirm if he makes the 22. Tarryn Thomas will unfortunately miss a month or two with serious internal bruising, so if you have him as a POD hes a must trade. Also Paddy Ryder is available for a return, which could make Jack Hayes owners a little bit nervous. Justin McInerney is listed as a test for his knee niggle, but there are reports he didnt fly to Melbourne, so likely remains out. NB: Confirmed, he’s not named. Mundy will miss a week at freo for covid protocols, and Fyfe had surgery and will be out for at least 6 weeks leaving space in freos midfield. And for Eagles, a huge list of players (including popular bench rookies Brady Hough, and Hugh Dixon,) should be available for selection assuming they pass protocol tests, but we wont know for sure who is in until friday afternoon sunday extended selection is named. Andrew Gaff has a foot injury and is in doubt. Bailey Smith trained well this week and we’ll know shortly if he plays for Doggies tomorrow night (Nb: Confirmed, he’s in).

A windy cold day in 2015, I was bored, sick with the flu, and decided to start a blog about Teamsheets. I was immediately recruited by Warnie and somehow am now a DTTALK author. NOTE; Im Back in 2022! woooo Twitter@BaggersShags ~REMEMBER: Friends don't let friends DT TEAMS become ghost ships.

    I think I basically have two options.

    Gawn -> English
    Rayner -> Foley (+$141k)
    Gawn -> L.Jackson
    Rayner -> Butters/Heeney/English (good DPP)

    Thinking the second one but who should I go for?

    • Shags

      March 30, 2022 at 8:14 pm

      I prefer 1. I still think Jackson is a trap.

      • Ethan F

        March 30, 2022 at 8:25 pm

        Yeah, I had a better look and I think 1 makes more sense. It means I can play Nic Martin on field instead of Josh Sinn. Cheers!

        March 30, 2022 at 8:27 pm

        1 more question. Luke Foley or Hayden Young? Young is $140k more expensive but I think he’ll be more consistent, and have better job security for sure. Thoughts?

        • Barry Beefcake

          March 30, 2022 at 8:52 pm

          Yes Evan, definitely Young

      March 31, 2022 at 10:01 pm

      This is the first year i havent started English in 3 years lol. Ive never ever started the big 2 rucks but decided ill go with what i keep getting told is set and forget haha. This week i was going to downgrade bith rucks to speakano and pruess. Instead i upgrade a rookie to crisp in the D leaving only 1 rook on ground in D and n.martin in for cash gen. A ruck downgrade to english (probably straight swap by then) can get a mid pricer to petracca.

    How long do you reckon Martin will be out? If it is a while, then I may consider English.

    • Mighty Puds

      March 30, 2022 at 9:51 pm

      Dusty? Given they said they aren’t putting a time frame on it I’d trade if I had him, English seems a great in along with the usual Heeney, Butters, etc if you don’t have them. Nic Martin should be back this week if that’s the Martin being referred to.

    If o driscol plays he couldnt score much less than mccartin could he?

    Hmmm, I feel like Hayes should be safe, he is actually really, really good at footy, probably got an early lead in Saint’s B&F and could play any position, surely he is comfortably best 22.

    • Pendles4Brownlow

      March 31, 2022 at 11:17 pm

      He can’t get dropped, surely. But I think his output is a risk this week, so heist on my bench this week.

      • Squid

        April 1, 2022 at 12:35 am

        I’ll happily take 60-70 odd until it’s time to milk, anything extra is a bonus, seems realistic and as an added bonus I love how he plays.

  11. Pendles4Brownlow

    March 31, 2022 at 11:14 pm

    I was on the set and forget bandwagon during the preseason, because the rucks seemed unpredictable. After 2 rounds, however, things appear more predictable. Most of the rucks are spuds, with the exception of English. English has backed it up in round 3. I have done a complete about face, and now have English and Preuss in the ruck. Preuss can’t be any worse than the other spuds, and he is priced almost as a rook. It’s too good an opportunity to miss.

    Bring in: Hall, Doc, or Ziebell? (for Chapman)

    I’m leaning towards Ziebell.

    M. Crouch vs T. Green?

  14. El Du_Key

    April 1, 2022 at 11:43 am

    Tough one. I’d go Green just because Laird is back. The next 4 GWS games are Freo, Dees, Saints, Crows – I’d say Green has a good run at three of those games. Crouch has Bombers, Tigers, Doggies, Giants.

    • El Du_Key

      Sorry, that’s supposed to be a reply to BTD

    if you bought in sinn last week, is there a point in trading him out or is that a waste of a trade (which getting rid of gibcus will be more necessary)

      If you brought in Sinn last week, you would have known that he will be in and out of the side. If you trade him out this week, you will probably want to bring him in again next week. You need to settle on your tactics and stop switching around based on a single selection or round result. You know that Gibcus will play, so if you are in need of a heartbeat on the bench, keep him, but you know his scores are not going to be good. If you can upgrade Gibcus to someone with some scoring ability, that should be your first priority, but ensure they have some JS to offset the lack of JS with Sinn.
