Calvin’s Captains – Rd. 15

Macrae & Parish sit at No. 6 and No. 7 this week, but has Cal lost his mind?

Welcome back you bloody awesome legends to another edition of Calvin’s Captains.

#1 – Touk Miller v Kangaroos

Saturday @ Blundstone Arena (Hobart)

Touk is a beast. He has one score under 119 in the last seven games and is coming off scores of 122, 130 and 160.

He played the Roos earlier this year and posted a nice 130. Last week, the Lions monstered the Roos where players like Lyons (161), McCluggage (118) and Neale (111) all dominated.

Lock in the Touk Touk for the easiest 130+ score in town.

#2 – Tim Taranto v Hawthorn

Sunday @ the MCG

Timmy T has been ripping it up over the last seven weeks with an average of 125. The games being switched to the MCG shouldn’t be a problem after he has dominated there with scores of 129, 117 and 130 in his last three trips.

Hawthorn (as we know) are the equal easiest team for midfielders, even though Parish (84) and Merrett (88) struggled last week against them. That was in Tassie though, and can be written off.

Taranto is coming off a big 145 and sits as the No. 2 player in the game based on his average of 130 in the last three weeks.

#3 – Aaron Hall v Gold Coast

Saturday @ Blundstone Arena (Hobart)

The Gold Coast Suns are the second easiest for defenders to score against and the equal easiest team for midfielders. Hall fits into both of those areas.

Since his concussion, Hall has now averaged 122 and is coming off scores of 98, 133 and 143. Port had plenty of marks against the Suns last week, and before that, running defenders such as Aish (114pts, 7m) Tucker (111pts, 13m) and Ryan (111pts, 10m) all dominated for the Dockers.

#4 – Max Gawn v Essendon

Saturday night @ the MCG

Max has now averaged 119 in his last four games and meets a team he has scored 104, 107 and 135 on in his last three.

Now, Sam Draper is back. He played well last week against the Hawks as their rucks McEvoy (81) and Ceglar (59) were solid enough.

You would think the rest would have done Max the world of good and he’ll be back firing on the MCG.

#5 – Josh Kelly v Hawthorn

Sunday @ the MCG

Juicy match-up for Kelly, against a team he scored 145 on last year. Before that he had 115, 107 and 136 proving that he loves smashing the Hawks. His lowest score (75) this year though came from the MCG, but prior to that he did have 135 and 115.

His 102 last weekend was his seventh straight 100+ score and this week will be his eighth.

#6 – Jack Macrae v West Coast

Sunday @ Optus Stadium

This guy has scored 100+ in every game this year and has averaged 122 in his last three. He is in here based on form alone.

Against the Eagles he has struggled in the past with scores of 113 (this year), 100, 69 and 76. At Optus in his last five games, he has only hit 100 once which was a score of 114 that he achieve there this year.

At the end of the day, he’s one of the best going around and based on form… he’ll be fine but there is a small flag for this one.

#7 – Darcy Parish v Melbourne

Saturday night @ the MCG

84 last week will not cut it mate!

Prior to last week’s disaster, Parish was averaging 133 in his last seven games. This week, he returns to the MCG where he has gone 150 and 106 this year.

Parish meets the Demons and although they are on fire, they are still giving up points this year, ranking as the seventh easiest for midfielders to score against.

#8 – Rory Laird v Carlton

Sunday @ Marvel Stadium

Love this one. Laird has scored 121 and 131 in his last two games and plays the Blues, a team he has dominated with scores of 115, 92, 138 and 100.

#9 – Ollie Wines v Sydney

Saturday night @ Adelaide Oval

A huge 154 last week has now put Wines into the #3 position based on form.

He plays Sydney who are, surprisingly, one of his favourite teams, despite being tough to score against for others.

He has had 119, 96, 125 and 110 in his last four against them and is having a stand-out season.

#10 – Lachie Whitfield v Hawthorn

Sunday @ the MCG

Expect anything from Whitfield this week from 100 to 150.

He has only dropped under 119 once in his last four games and loves playing the Hawks, a team he had 126 and 102 on in his last two games.

WHAT ABOUT THESE GUYS?

Tom Mitchell – could be tagged by De Boer who got Walsh (55) last week.

Sam Walsh – Could be tagged again, after his 55.

Lachie Neale – tagged by O’Connor for 51 earlier this year – Pass.

Jarryd Lyons – has hit 115+ in four of his last six. Geelong #2 hardest this year.

Clayton Oliver – 86, 82 and 78 are his last v Ess and he’s coming off 80 and 86.

Brodie Grundy – Need to see how he comes back.

Who do you think can top score this week as your captain?

Thought I was going to have a slightly more unique captain with TT over Macrae :( Was wondering if you could try grow a Sam Draper type mullet to fully immerse yourself in the Essendon culture. Hell, join our discord! Thanks legend
