Keep on rollin’ baby, you know what time it is! It’s the business end of the pre season and understandably, people have been hounding me for an updated rollin’22 so here it is.
Defenders
UPDATE: Unfortunately the slight uncertainty around the fitness one of my favourites Zac Williams is all it took to lose his spot with some pretty serviceable players now holding fort as the top 6. Jack Crisp was the big mover, assisted by his projected spike given the Pies midfield injury woes.

Midfielders
UPDATE: The loss of Tim Taranto and Adam Treloar caused some chaos in the midfield but it’s pretty settled… For now. You could throw a blanket over those vying for eighth spot but Zach Merrett got in by a nose.

Forwards
UPDATED: It’s a bit of a dogs breakfast in the forward line this year but the top six are all deserving. The sixth position took me a few beers to confirm but the form of Darcy MacPherson edged contenders like Chad Wingard, Christian Petracca, Jack Steven and Hugh Greenwood. That last spot was my hardest and drunkest selection, given I left it until last.

Doug

Man, only starting with 2 DEF (but also Houston), 2 MID (but also Neale & Bont), 1 RUC, & 2 FWD (taking a punt that Steven can crack through though)..

MacPherson looked great, but can he be a player that can maintain throughout the year?

Will average 90+, Which makes him a keeper until you have a luxury trade to upgrade if hes not top 6.

I like D McPherson this year. I remember D Hawkins a couple of years ago giving the kid huge wraps.

Wouldn’t surprise me if J Martin was a massive improver as he hardly got a game at Suns

March 12, 2020 at 5:44 pm
agreed, he will be too busy averaging 90+ on the wing instead

Devon Smith will provide much more value providing he’s dealt with his injury problems.

Guys the season is going to be cancelled. The NBA just shut down. There is not going to be a season. People need to come to reality. The Coronavirus is not going to disappear

The US hasn’t really done anything since the outbreak to prevent the spread though where as Australia has and with no one in the AFL currently known to have it the worst that will happen is games in empty stadia

You seem to know so much about the virus. We are honoured to have such a beautiful mind among us. Thank you for taking time out of your busy research schedule to share your findings. My fears are now allayed.

“Not that bad” = death rate very low for those 100,000 Australians over the next year or two. So it’s not bird flu, but it’s pretty bad for those at risk.

Could be you’re right. I think it’s very likely that some rounds will be cancelled after a few people from one team catch it and then the teams they’ve played the last two weeks will be in isolation for two weeks, so their games will be cancelled, then some others will catch it and repeat. At it’s worst, we’ll certainly have no games some rounds. However, depending on how long that takes to play out will determine how many rounds we miss.
For example, if enough people from each team catch it early on, then they’ll all be immune, so can get back to footy. If many don’t get it but are in one 2-week isolation after another then we may miss the whole season. Or it may be that we get sick of it (excuse the pun) and say “f*ck it, saving the old folks is not worth living like a hermit for a year” and just play unless sick. I think the last option will be what many people do, but I doubt the AFL will.

The chances of MacPherson averaging more than brayshaw are zero

I presume that’s hyperbole. It’s certainly not 0.
