- $40,000 Saturday special – 5 games
Bombers v Power, Giants v Swans, Dockers v Cats, Dees v Tigers, Crows v Saints
Tim Taranto MID, $10,400
The Giant breakout sensation is certainly in the mix for the highest scoring player on the slate, especially if you think GWS are going to win. The reason is Taranto is averaging 39 more points in wins than losses and we know he loves stepping up in the absence of he superstar teammates. He averages 121 at home and scored 130 against the Swans earlier in the year.
Patrick Dangerfield MID, $9,900
Danger is heating up as he leads the Cats into the Finals with a three game average of 109. What I like most however are his numbers against the Dockers where he has scored 115, 134, 118, 130 and 147 in his last five to be one of his favourite opponents.
Nat Fyfe MID, $9,500
The superstar Docker has to be in the hunt for the Brownlow and historically he would like his chances to sneak a 3 vote here in a match up he loves. He has scored 117, 110, 116, 111 and 109 in his last five against the Cats and he loves playing at home. Add to that the Cats are the giving up the most points to midfielders out of any team since the bye so he should cover his asking price.
Jake Lloyd DEF, $9,900
The popular and high scoring defender may have a lower ownership than usual, given the sub par performance by his standard last week where he moved up the ground to play on the wing. As a result he only took one kick in and we know he usually plays on from kick ins to accumulate some bonus plus 3s. His history against the Giants isn’t great but with Rampe out, he should move back and return to his triple figure scoring ways.
Toby Greene FWD, $8,400
The Giant forward has embraced the opportunity to move back into the midfield in the absence of Kelly and Coniglio. Since being in there, he has reignited the Giants finals run on the back of some sensational form where he has scored 126, 115 and 144. There is always a concern he may get some attention from Clark and Hewitt but his form is unquestionable and he is an absolute bargain as a forward.
