Team Sheets – Rd. 12

All the news, rumours, and team sheets from round 12!

It’s Thursday!!

Time’s up, the byes are here!  And as if the chaos from 1/3 of your team hitting the bench wasn’t enough, Jay Lockhart and Marty Hore owners may not know the fate of their players until well after lockout.  Matt Crouch and Rory Sloane are the main pair to watch for tonight, but there could always be a juicy curve-ball right around the corner!  Good luck!

Round 12 kicks off 19:50 AEST Friday night so have all your trades locked in by then!  The Traders will be reacting LIVE today from 18:15 AEST on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.

As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.

Collingwood vs Melbourne

Dayne Beams will be out for the majority of the season with a hip injury and Collingwood have named a few potential replacements in Brayden Sier and Josh Daicos, as well as Mason Cox, Isaac Quaynor (246k DEF), and Ben Crocker.

Melbourne have axed Jay Kennedy-Harris and Oscar McDonald already with plenty of very likely inclusions.  Marty Hore, Steven May, Jake Lever, Christian Salem, Braydon Preuss, and Alex Neal-Bullen have all been named, Jay Lockhart is absent though.  Oskar Baker owners can relax as he’s once again named on the wing.

Same here, I’m in the top 200 but struggling to field 18 after this week’s chaos. I just pity the coach that has Whitfield, Salem, Hurn, Ellis, Hore, Lockhart and Hinge. Two weeks ago, that would have been close to the ideal

Should i hold off on getting Gawn in for O’Brien til after his bye R13 (might not make BE of 102 against Grundy), if I can still field 19 this week?

Cogs BE 78, $713k – Kelly BE 98, $806k. Two weeks til their bye, I’d go the better value.

Depends what you’re using that 100k savings for. If you need it then go Cogs, if you don’t then go Kelly.

Hearing a few unconfirmed reports on Twitter and now Mason Cox in the extended squad at least shows Grundy isn’t 100% at this point…

Trades= Scrimshaw, Hayes and Whitfield, for: Naish, Baker, and one of: Pendles, Neale or Treloar.
(I know they all have a bye next round- that suits my bye structure.)

At the moment I’m favouring Pendles.
    Any thoughts?

Gives me playing players over the byes of: 20/ 20/ 18 or19.

    What’s better.
Houli, Naish and Cogs or Laird, Cumming and Neale?

I’m not Ollie, but I like the first one.
Cumming and Naish probably have similar JS,
Neale is slumping, Cogs is flying
Houli can go 140, Laird is a solid 95

Neale is r13 bye, Cogs is R14, maybe that decides for you?!?

What do people think of the job security of Matthew Broadbent from Port? Was pretty average last game but good the previous two, and I desperately need a cheap Def. with a round 12 bye. Any other ideas?

Stevo, Broadbent’s late start to the season was because he was still recovering from long-term injury. He used to be one of Port’s best 22 and there’s no reason to think that won’t be the case again now. I think it was back in 2017 that his injury happened? Anyway, I seem to remember seeing something about how excited everyone at Port was about his return to the big stage a few rounds ago. So I reckon his JS is probably not an issue.

Yeah don’t worry about his JS, he’s in their first 22 for sure. If you’re happy with an 80~ average to get you through byes then get him in, only concern for me is Hartlett returning potentially altering or taking points from Broadbent’s role.

Thanks guys for your thoughts on Broadbent, I’ll bring him in. Helps with my byes, plus the cash I get from swapping him for Brodie Smith, and getting Naish for Balta, means I can turn Atkins into Coniglio.

Trading Whitfield, Ross and Collins to

    1. Daniels, zieball and bewley or
    2. Fyfe, perryman and Clarke

    1 or 2
