Team Sheets – Rd. 6

All the news, rumours, and team sheets for round 6!

  • Avatar

It’s Thursday!!

Well that was quick, where did the week go?  Luckily it’s a double downgrade for me this round (I already own Billings and Merrett) but I feel for the coaches out there who have serious decisions to make with such a short turnaround.

Round six kicks off tonight is well under way, so make sure you have all your remaining players locked in before 19:50 AEST Friday night!  The Traders will be reacting LIVE today from 18:15 AEST on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.

As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.

Shaun Higgins out, Nathan Hrovat in.

Tom Jonas out, Jarrod Lienert in.

Orazio Fantasia out, Darcy Parish in.

Essendon vs Collingwood

Two massive changes for both teams.  Essendon have brought back two of their best, Devon Smith and David ZaharakisDarcy Parish and Brayden Ham are omitted, but I imagine we’ll be seeing them again soon.

Collingwood have unfortunately lost Jamie Elliott with a corked buttock, and James Aish with a concussion.  Their two inclusions are Will Hoskin-Elliott for his first game of the season, and Levi Greenwood (watch out Merrett owners).

Port Adelaide vs North Melbourne

As forecast by coach Ken Hinkley, Port make no changes to the team that flattened West Coast.

Luke McDonald, Nick Larkey, and Tarryn Thomas are in for North, Bailey Scott, Jy Simpkin, and Paul Ahern are out.

Gold Coast vs Brisbane

Just the one change for Gold Coast and it’s a good one!  Josh Corbett (170k FWD) debuts, while Chris Burgess has finally been given the chop.  No Anthony Miles.

Brisbane swing the axe big time after a disappointing couple of weeks.  Lewis Taylor, Noah Answerth (170k DEF/MID), Ryan Lester, and Tom Cutler are all in.  Allen Christensen, Harris Andrews, Nick Robertson, and Rhys Mathieson are out.

St. Kilda vs Adelaide

St. Kilda’s captain Jarryn Geary has had surgery on his corked thigh and will miss a few weeks, he’s replaced by Daniel McKenzie.

Wayne Milera is also out injured, Myles Poholke comes in for him after a dominant SANFL performance.

Sydney vs GWS

Two changes for Sydney this week.  Lewis Melican and Nick Blakey in, Ben Ronke and Kieren Jack out.

GWS have a big inclusion for the Battle of the Bridge.  Toby Greene returns alongside Aidan Corr, with Jackson Hately and Matt Buntine making way.

Fremantle vs Western Bulldogs

Brennan Cox is out alongside the suspended Taylin DumanCam McCarthy makes his return with Ryan Nyhuis.

After some impressive VFL form, Jackson Trengove breaks into the Bulldogs side at the expense of the struggling Bailey Williams.

Hawthorn vs Carlton

Hawthorn recover some of their top talent in Ben Stratton, Liam Shiels, and Tim O’Brien. It’s the usual whipping boys in the omissions, David Mirra, Harry Morrison, and Conor Nash are out.

Only the one change for Carlton after their impressive win. Charlie Curnow comes in for Cam Polson.

Geelong vs West Coast

Only the two outs in the end for Geelong and no ruck reinforcements. Brandon Parfitt misses a week as expected and Jordan Clark is given the dreaded rest.  Charlie Constable, and Zach Tuohy are the inclusions.

Two changes for West Coast, Daniel Venables and Jarrod Brander come in for an injured Jack Redden and a dropped Nathan Vardy.  Dom Sheed owners rejoice!

I think his fitness test will be either today or tomorrow, not sure when Hawks training is.

Fair enough, I’m taking a punt he pulls up fine. If not I’ll have no bench cover or trades left by the time team lists come out.

Maybe Greenwood will run with Sheil? If he plays.

OK Treloar gets a lot of the footy, but as a lapsed ‘Pie supporter [go the Lions]
I cringe every time he gets the ball in the centre runs forward and kicks the ball
out of bounds or to the opposition key defender.
The last two or three years I’ve picked him pre season every time.
    Enough is enough.

I can’t get past the sheer number of midfielders they have. Pendles, Sidebottom, Treloar, Adams, Beams, Phillips are all capable of 120+, but I can’t see how they all can average that 110 or so you’d need.

Took the punt on answerth and he’s named. Now to score some points and hold his spot. Just a pity that hibberd went out of his way to shut down dusty last night. Didn’t see that coming.

It’s the first call I’ve made that hasn’t quite worked out, he was the only upgrade target I could reach. Il give him another couple weeks first before deciding what to do, I’m not into knee jerk trades. He can still bounce back……..Despite his average score. Zerret,Brayshaw, grundy and hore have gone well. Ranking upto 49 atm. What’s your rank Brett just out of interest?

Yeah I don’t know much about Answerth, missed the Traders live show as well so don’t know if they talked about his stats.

Don’t know much. I had to trade duursma to a 170k mid on Wed. So I picked him thinking he would play. I don’t think he’s a big scorer. Just as long as he makes a bit of cash. He’s only m10. So doesn’t need to be anything great. The rest of my rookie are making great cash.

I traded out C Wagner for Hately prior to the dees game – is it possible to interchange Hately with Hayes now given he’s been dropped ?

    • Avatar

      April 25, 2019 at 7:07 pm

      no, you’re stuck with Hately.

    April 25, 2019 at 7:10 pm

    Double downgrade for me now.

Will get Corbett straight in, Hayes for Duursma.
Sell Burgess and make next to no cash, or Setterfield for Corbett?

    • Avatar

      April 25, 2019 at 8:55 pm

gotta get rid of burgess while you can, setters should slot straight back into the blues lineup next week

    • Avatar

      April 26, 2019 at 12:56 pm

Yeah cut Burgess, sucks about the money but Setterfield still has growth in him.

so I traded Clark out for Hately via Stack on DPP. Then Hayes for Butters. Now that Hately is out, is there a way I can change that so it is Hayes for Clark via Stack’s DPP? Seems no reason I shouldn’t be able to do that.

Once a player is locked out then any move(s) involving him that you made prior to the lockout cannot be reversed. And you can’t even shuffle a locked out player around your field, between your field and bench or change status eg C,VC or Emergency. He’s locked in where and what he is.

How long I’ve been playing this game and I didn’t know that. Guess you only learn through painful screw ups.

which one out of Young, corbett and answerth? Thinking young as he looks alright for the next few weeks atleast then can grab one of corbett or answerth next week?

    • Avatar

      April 25, 2019 at 7:24 pm

Corbett might go okay. I don’t think Burgess will be coming back in any time soon.

    • Avatar

      April 26, 2019 at 1:00 pm

Yeah I always go the rookie that’s played a game already, much less likely to be cut in their third week than a rookie is in their second week. So in this case go for Young I think, Corbett and Answerth won’t break the bank in one round.

C on Clark so I get Grundy’s VC score. I’ll take the 123. I was going to captain Fort who was previously my only non-playing reserve, but I can’t take the chance he may be a late inclusion.

Will now be interested to see how Corett and Answerth go- possible Clark and Parker replacements.

I think Hately was a bit unlucky to be left out, eh? I was thinking of taking him next week.

Yeah. Hately out means I get Ross’ 92. Real shame that.
