It’s Thursday!!
Brutally disappointing teams yet again, seriously where is the carnage!?
Round five kicks off tonight, so make sure you have all your players from Brisbane and Collingwood locked in before 19:35 AEDT! The Traders will be reacting LIVE from 18:15 AEDT on the Official AFL Fantasy Facebook page to the team announcements, so think of this article as your text-based companion guide.
Don’t forget we have double partial lockout as well, so your North Melbourne and Essendon players will be locked from 16:20 AEDT on Friday before full lockout at 20:10 AEDT.
As always, this post will be updated as more information comes in, so if you’ve seen some news that I’ve missed feel free to tweet it at me and I’ll follow it up.
Updates:
Joe Daniher has been called up from outside the squad for Essendon! Zac Clarke has been omitted. Rumours are that Brayden Ham (170k FWD) will debut for David Zaharakis.
Charlie Constable is set to be rested for Geelong.
Anthony Miles is out for Gold Coast, Brad Scheer enters the 26 man squad.
Chayce Jones is out with concussion for Adelaide. Tyson Stengle comes into the 26 man squad.
Brisbane vs Collingwood
No changes to Brisbane after their heavy defeat to Essendon last week.
Collingwood make just the one change, Chris Mayne misses with his back injury, he’s replaced by Dayne Beams who was a late out last week.
North Melbourne vs Essendon
Luke McDonald and Tarryn Thomas out. Sam Wright and Bailey Scott come in.
DEVON SMITH IS OUUUUT. The dreaded ‘rest’ sits next to his name. Matt Guelfi comes in for him.
West Coast vs Port Adelaide
As forecast by coach Adam Simpson it is Lewis Jetta in, Josh Rotham out.
Steven Motlop is on SANFL duties after being axed for the Good Friday clash, he’s replaced by Todd Marshall. All four rookies hold their spot!
GWS vs Fremantle
Jackson Hately (244k MID) makes his debut! He replaces the injured Callan Ward.
Nat Fyfe makes his return from concussion! Lachie Schultz makes way.
Melbourne vs St. Kilda
Jordan Lewis, and Neville Jetta are in, but Brayden Preuss and Jay Lockhart have to wait a week. Oscar McDonald and Billy Stretch have both been omitted.
Matthew Parker survives despite the ankle issue. Daniel McKenzie and Hunter Clark are out, they’re replaced by Jarryn Geary and Jack Steven.
Richmond vs Sydney
Bachar Houli and Dustin Martin return for the tigers, but Jack Riewoldt doesn’t make it back this week. Jack Graham and Connor Menadue are omitted.
Isaac Heeney is playing despite his hip complaint! James Rowbottom (222k MID) and Ryan Clarke come in, Justin McInerney makes way after a poor debut and Nick Blakey after a so-so first month.
Western Bulldogs vs Carlton
Will Hayes (MID 170k) and Lachie Young (DEF 170k) make their debuts for the Bulldogs! Bailey Williams, Jackson Trengove, Patrick Lipinski, Roarke Smith, and Lin Jong are potential inclusions. Josh Schache, Taylor Duryea, and Matthew Suckling are the confirmed outs so far.
Will Setterfield is out for two games for his dangerous tackle on Wil Powell. Carlton are rolling with an extended bench of Matthew Kreuzer, Cameron Polson, Jack Silvagni, Matthew Kennedy, and Angus Schumacher.
Adelaide vs Gold Coast
No confirmed outs for Adelaide yet. Sam Jacobs has been ruled out for 4-6 weeks after undergoing knee surgery, giving Reilly O’Brien (296k RUC) a clear stretch of ruck duties. Hugh Greenwood, Bryce Gibbs, Jordan Gallucci, and Elliott Himmelberg make up the extended bench.
Wil Powell misses with concussion as expected. Gold Coast’s extended bench is made up of George Horlin-Smith, Will Brodie, Sam Day, Jacob Heron, and Aaron Young, but I’d expect the inclusion to be one of the first two listed there.
Hawthorn vs Geelong
James Frawley is the only confirmed out so far with his hamstring injury. Kaiden Brand, Jaeger O’Meara, Dylan Moore, Tim O’Brien, and Mitchell Lewis are the potential inclusions. It’s worth noting as well for James Cousins owners that he’s ominously placed in the middle of the extended bench.
No confirmed outs yet so far, Cameron Guthrie, Zach Guthrie, Zac Smith, and James Parsons have been added on to the bottom of the extended bench. Jordan Clarke named at the top but not in the clear yet…
