Now for my best and sneaky best options for today…
Jack Macrae (MID, $10,300)
Obvious… yes, but I here to tell you that it’s worth every cent by having Macrae in your team today.
Coming off scores of 151 and 145, he plays the Lions who gave the Pies 7×100+ scores last week. Under the roof he has averaged 131 this year and based on what he could do today… he is a steal at just over $10K.
Toby McLean (MID, $8,500)
Just like the man above, he takes on the Lions and should continue his hot run. Coming off the back of a career-high 143, he meets a team he scored 102 and 111 against last year.
The writing is on the wall here, that McLean will continue where he left off last week.
Eric Hipwood (FWD, $4,300)
Ha ha ha – I know what you’re thinking but hear me out.
The Bulldogs give up the most points in the game to key forwards and therefore, we should consider… I said “consider” Hipwood today (at his price).
Buddy and Darling both scored triple figures this year against the Dogs’ defence and Jeremy Cameron had his best score for the year of 114 against them in round one.
Look I know… he’s bloody useless, but he is dirt cheap and as I said, worth considering.

Kade Simpson (DEF, $8,900)
Small defenders have an amazing record (the best) against the Bombers this year, and that sets up old mate Kade to have a big one today.
Players such as Laird (124), Luke Ryan (113) and even more recently… the out of form Hibberd (107) and Salem (104) pumped out tons.
Kade scored 112 last week and hasn’t scored under 90 against the Bombers in his last 4 games, averaging 100+.
Bring it home big fella!
Cheap Rooks (MID, $3,500)
The best two available here must be Charlie Spargo and St Kilda’s first gamer, Ed Phillips.
Spargo has gone 71 and 78 in his first two games and looks the goods. Not only can he kick a goal, but it’s his work up the ground is super impressive.
St Kilda’s Ed Phillips comes in with an impressive wrap-sheet. He scored 133 in his last VFL game and at the age of 20, he looks set to make an impact from the word ‘Go’.
Koby Mutch ($3,700) is still very cheap also. Running with these guys, will of course allow you to cash up with some big guns in other positions.
Stef Martin (RUC, $9,300)
Today… Stef will play the Bulldogs under the roof and they don’t have a ruckman.
This has the makings of another huge day for Stef who is coming off a 130 against Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy last week.
Add to this…. The Western Bulldogs will enter this game without a recognised ruckman after they dropped Tim English which opens up a rucking spot for Tom Boyd.
Now, last week against English… Witts (131) had a field day with 21d and 58 hit outs, so just imagine what Stef could have against a much smaller Tom Boyd.
He scored 90 and 121 on the Dogs last year, but it’s what he did to the ruckless Power earlier this year is what gets me excited the most.
Remember that day? When he scored 177. Now, we can’t expect that… but we can expect that he should be the best ruckman today, with a juicy score next to his name.
