Cal’s Scale of Hardness – Rd 18

Here it is… what you have all been waiting for, Cal’s Scale of Hardness.

WHAT IS IT?

It’s a scale that illustrates the run home of each team. Obviously, some teams have a much easier run home compared to others and when it comes down to a 50/50 trade decision, this table might help you make that critical call.

HOW WAS IT VALUED?

Basically, I’ve looked at the amount of points that each team have given up this year and assigned each team a value. GWS are by far the hardest team to play against and they got assigned the value of 1, right through to the Hawks who are easily the easiest and they we’re assigned a value of 10.

Melbourne, West Coast and Richmond were all valued at 6 each as they have been very similar in what they have given up this year. Sydney though we’re adjusted slightly as their last few weeks, do not match the season trend. They are valued at 8 along with a stack of other difficult teams to score against.

Either way… I’ve got it right and it works. Critics can get stuffed, cause I’m right.

WHY ARE SOME UNDERLINED?

Home games. Richmond play the GWS, means this is a home game for the Tigers. But then again, some are rather irrelevant, especially when you look at games such as Adelaide v Port (Rd. 20). This game is listed as an Adelaide ‘home’ game, despite both teams playing at home. So basically, most of the lines matter, but on some occasions… it’s not a huge deal.

WHEN WILL THIS BE UPDATED?

Each week. The chart to my right will obviously change as teams are drop off each week. Therefore, this will updated weekly and should be used as a super resource to guide you home over the last few rounds of the season.
