  • 2158.

    Ranked higher than j.

  • almost time for the best part of fantasy – the rage trade moment! Typical game – 9 uniques, 8 scored below their average
It is true though, that having a shocker of team does make trading all the sweeter :)

    • There’s a reason why players are unique…

      • true, but one would still expect them to be vaguely 50/50 around their individual averages. All good though, there’s always next week and another set of uniques :)

        • Actually, generally you’d expect players to score slightly below their average because you get in players when they’re in ‘form’ and some of that ‘form’ will just be random variance above the mean, which they then regress to. The exception is when you get in players who have been injured or had shockers but are then finding form (e.g., Rocky).

          • I disagree. You’re better off buying players at at the bottom of their price trough, not chasing players at their price peak, that you’ve already missed the big score. That’s one of the ways how you gain value/scorability.

          • Depends if that is your strategy – but also it may be the players are are unique because they are not reliable and normally score low but have the occasional mega high score, or they score okay normally but with the occasional dud score. That skews the distribution one way or the other.
Also one’s uniques are influenced by the opposing team ie they are relative to another persons choices and change every game. This makes a consistent bias less likely – I had Seedsman and Coniglio as uniques this week, Laird and Taranto the week before (where 7/12 were under average, which is within expectations )

          • 2nd spot overall…think I’ll take demons word for it

          • Yeah, and the guy ranked 20 a few weeks back hasn’t got a clue of what he’s talking about.

    • Yeah, JungleMuffin is a Eunuch too!

Vent/Brag/Whatever: loving the rooks scores in the forward line from Fritsch and Stephenson!

  • 2166 …on the way back after 7 sastrous RDS.

  • 2128 and lost my match-up :(
A disappointing round with no on-field rookies firing and some premo spuds.
But very happy with Lloyd (wtf!), Titch and Macrae. Oh yes, and Zerrett too!
Must have been a pretty low scoring round though as I only dropped a couple of hundred in the rankings.
Roll on the byes! Reckon I’m reasonably well set up and hope to come through them ahead of the pack lol

  • BTW why do some of you blokes seem to think it’s funny to use gay slurs when you’re having a go at someone?
It’s not funny and it’s not clever.
It just makes you come across as douchebags.
    Grow up.

  • Lost one match-up by 2 and another by 4.

  • Team Name:Crows choked as one.
    Round 9 Scores:1995 I know stunk
League Results:lost all leagues bar one
Studs:not many. Titch, Zerrett, Gawn, Christensen
Duds:Billings, Martin, Hibberd (all 3 again), Clarke, Phillips, Simpson, Sicily.
On the Chopping Block:need to trade Crowden out but he’s worthless now to downgrade anyone to. Waterman, Gowers, Kelly
Vent/Brag/Whatever why do I pick the highest priced players from each line every year. Hibberd, Billings, Martin, Zerrett all rubbish this year.

  • Also picked Sicily over Lloyd. Cost me 100 points

  • Mr Burns

    Team Name: The Snouts
    Round 9 Scores: 2122

    Duds: Simpson, Coffield, Robbie Gray
    On the Chopping Block: Coffield
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Slipped around 150 in the rankings this week. Still in the top 500 so I guess that’s something.

    • Shame you didn’t pick Mitchell as captain, isn’t it. It happens though, no need to get angry about it and take it out on innocent people on the internet.

    On the Chopping Block: Coffield
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Finally cracked the top 1000 for my first time ever, was worried about putting the C on Titch instead of Macrae but stoked with the result, looking like I’ll be going Doedee to Danger this week which should be great

  • Team Name: West Coke Lines
    Round 9 Scores: 2301
    League Results: W
    Studs: Everyone but Hogan
    Duds: Hogan

On the Chopping Block: Banfield, Finlayson/Doedee
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Simpson let me down for the second time in three or four weeks since bringing him in. On the bright side, $789k in the bank, planning to bring in E Curnow and probably Sicily for Banfield and Finlayson at this stage.

Studs: Lloyd, Yeo, Titch (C), Bundy
    Duds: Billings
On the Chopping Block: Parker, Brayshaw, Billings

  • Round 9 Score: 2118
    League Results: Wx8, Lx1
Studs: Macrae (c), Titch, Merrett, Fritsch, Rockliff
    Duds: Coffield, O’Shea, Whitfield, Taranto
On the Chopping Block: Coffield, O’Shea, Pearce
Vent/Brag/Whatever: well done Muffin, for moving up the rankings this week.

    • Maybe you should have locked in Mitchell as Captain instead of being a vanilla downhill hubcap chaser.

And I dropped ranks, but still outscored you, who climbed ranks. Says a bit, doesn’t it?

Just a bit of advice for you though mate, it aooears a lot of your players are faux premiums. Maybe you should bring in base price rookies, which will allow you to bring in bonafide premiums, not the FOOLS GOLD types that you apparantly favour.

Just try bringing in quality value rookies full stop. Your strawman analogy of my rookie selections would be better than flogs like Coffield and O’Shea. Here’s a pro tip: bring in Clarke last week.

What’s your rank by the way, big dog?

      • wow, you congratulate a guy, and they respond with a complete lack of humility and Sicily-like in your face arrogance.

It’s no wonder no one likes this fool
