My Team 2016: Version 3.1

The second weekend of the NAB Challenge has come to a close and it’s time for a new version of the pre-season My Team post. Plenty of great discussion has been going on throughout the pre-season and we are keen to keep it going.

Once you have picked your team, post it in the comments below (in a nice format would be preferable). Now that we have My Team cranking, discuss any players, team structure, etc in the comments. As always, keep it civil and if you’re advice, make sure you dish out some of your own (make sure it well thought out and not blatant trolling – we’re totally over that after 10 years of DT Talk!). Make sure you name up which competition your team is for as there are different prices and a different strategy for each.

Get keen for a massive season ahead.

  • Weitering good decision at d 5 or nah
    what would he average? 60-75?

  • and wingard to your post about smith being in 22. are you high. of course hell be in the 22 he is one of their better senior players. you surely dont know much about fantasy/dreamteam

worse than the chosen one or fyfe calls him chosen wanker

  • Aight, Chosen Won, give me your vast array of knowledge on my team.

Def; Shaw, Laird, Sheridan, WhiteX, Harwood, Brown. (Broad, Hartley)

Mid; Gaz, Rocky, Adams, Parker, Libba, MCrouch, Mills, Caff. (Blakely, Gore)

    Ruck; Stef, Gawn. (C+C)

Fwd; Dusty, Barlow, Goey, Bird, Wells, Menzel. (Menadue, Phillips)

Only 3k in the piggy, is worrying. As well as some rookies will be changed if they aren’t named R1.

    • I would be happy to Cameron.

Like the Shaw/Laird Pick both solid both should play all 22 games, As seen I am not keen on Sheridan but he’s good upgrade bait. Whitecross if can stay on the park should average low 80’s and make a Good D6

Like Adams pick he will push his average 5-7ppg in 2016. Parker is an interesting pick and could be good POD solid player works hard, Not sure Gore will line up round 1 keep an eye on that.

Same ruck combo I am starting.

Barlow will average 100 in 2016 not sold on De Goey I think there are people ahead of him stealing his points.

      Overall Solid

      Good Luck

      • I had Sheridan last year for the 2nd half of his season, he impressed, and was consistent. I believe he will start off how he finished.

Adams will average 110+, parker will be around that mark, about 105-107.

I don’t see that happening with Swan + Pendels spending time up fwd, and I just see him getting decent ball anyways, value pick more so than a keeper.

As I said, rookies are subject to change, pretty much apart from Menadue, Currie + Broad, who are locked.

        • You asked I delivered you may not agree that’s fine I am not going to lose sleep over it.

People are going to have different opinions about different players, that’s cool but ask yourself how can I be different when everything is the same? I did and I found a way!

          Hope it Helps

          Good Luck

          • I’ll be different in my trades, not starting team. The reason these people are so popular, is because they’re looking the best, they might not perform, others may rise up, but i’ll stick with them unless something happens/something else pops up.

There’s only so much uniqueness you can have before you sacrifice points.

          • I have 18 players in my team (others might have more, I don’t know) that scored Fantasy hundreds last year so you can be different in your selections and structure while maintaining a solid round average.

            Good Luck

  • Hi guys, what do you think? Still not sure about what structure to use.

DEF- shaw, laird, rosa, Sheridan, brown, broad (Brynne, Hartley)

MID- Titchell, Ablett, Rockliff, Libba, hunter, m.crouch, c mills, Mathieson (gore, macron)

    RUCK- Martin, Gawn (Currie, cox)

FWD- Dusty, Barlow, de goey, bird, kerridge, Simpkin (menadue, Kommer)

    Thoughts would be appreciated.
I want to upgrade bird to Greene but don’t know where to get the money from?

  • Goldy, Lewis and De Goey or Gawn, Fyfe and Robinson

  • Just sitting here hung over playing with my side again, would love some feedback on what I have come up with, any comments, feedback, opinions, suggestions will be taken in, thanks.

D: Shaw, Rosa, Sheridan, Howe, Brown (ESS), Broad, Hartley, Byrne.
M: Armitage, Ablett, Rockliff, Liberatore, Viney, Duncan, Mills, Methieson, Gore, MacPerson.
    R: Martin, Gawn, Cox, Currie.
F: Martin, Barlow, Greene, De Goey, Kerridge, Menadue, O’Brien, Kommer.

Have $150,000 in the pig, suggestions on where I could improve?

A little worried about Kerridge, is he able to punch out an 80/85 average?

Thoughts on Liberatore at M4, Viney M5, Duncan M6? Should I upgrade one of the three?

Should I spend the coin in the back line to strengthen it? I feel Sheridan is a lock right now, as is Howe IF named come round 1, not sold on Brown though, can Rosa be a top 6 defender?

    Thanks all.

    • G’day mate. Yeah personally I’d use that coin to upgrade one of your mid-priced mids to a dead set jet. I don’t think Rosa will be a top 6 defender but will hopefully see you through to the byes with a healthy average and make you a bit of coin to bring in a gun. Kerridge good for 80…ish I reckon.

  • Alright, haven’t shown my actual team in a while, so here it is.

DEF: Shaw, Laird, Langdon, Lonergan, Brown, McDonald-Tipungwuti (Broad, Hartley)
Shaw, in all honesty, should be everyone’s D1. Unless you have sufficient cover for Boyd’s missed games, you should have Shaw. Laird, with Jaensch gone looks set to keep an average in the 90’s and will be fairly consistent. Langdon I am unsure on, however his trend over the past two years looks promising. If Lonergan is alright and gets over those damn niggles, he looks set to slot straight into the Gold Coast midfield and should score really well.
MID: Pendlebury, JPK, Ablett, Rockliff, Viney, Mills, Macaffer, Blakely (Davis, Gore)
How Pendles isn’t in more teams I’ll never know. Gun. That M2 spot is bugging me, I can’t make my mind up on who to choose. If any of you have suggestions, I can afford anyone. GAJ looks set for round 1 and has carved himself into my team. Rockliff, bit of a unique, but I think it’ll work out. Viney has been in the team for a couple weeks now, sometimes switching out for Shuey, but with each passing game he looks so much better.
    RUC: Martin, Gawn (Currie, Cox)
Pretty standard. Pretty much sold of Gawn, mainly because I follow Melbourne but also I think he’ll smash it this year.
FWD: Martin, Barlow, Robinson, Wells, Kennedy, Ellis (Kommer, Beech)
Martin, lock. Barlow, if given the fabled mid role should go back to his good old rookie years. Robinson is more of a gut feeling, but just imagine if he continues that end of year form.

    Cash Left: $29,000
Let me have it with your thoughts.

  • Needing help with my defence

Shaw, Rosa, Smith, Lonergan, Harwood, Brown (2x125ks)

With 42k in bank the most i can spend is 2.364m because the rest of my team is pretty locked in

I do wanna keep myself, Shaw, Smith and Brown. But if there is other opinion for the defence spots open for suggestions

  • R.Laird and T.Langdon or B.Houli and K.Kolodjashnij
    which option should i choose?

  • Pick two please, Duncan, Liberatore, Viney, cheers.

  • Sinclair or Nicholls for R2?

I need highly intelligent people to comment on my team – an IQ over 65 would be good. The cheapies will change on round one announcements.

DEF: Bartel, Shaw, Kolojashnij, Hibberd, Weitering, M. Brown )Hartley, Byrne)

MID: Rockliff, Ablett, Pendlebury, T. Mitchell, Dangerfield, Liberatore,
    Mills, Mathieson (Viojo-Rainbow, Menadue)

    RUCK: Martin, Leuenberg (Cox, Currie)

FWD: Barlow, Stevie J., Greene, De Goey, Howard, Beech (Phillips, Kommer)

Have $130K in the kitty. Fantasy projection is 1938

  • thoughts on ruggles on bench in def? thinking to wait to see if he is a swap for thurlow with the injury

  • Please help.

Def: Houli, KK, Whitecross, Tipungwuti, Shaw, Brown (Broad, Hartley)

Mid: Ellis, Mills, Rockliff, Ablett, Adams, Libba, Mathieson, Duncan (Gore, Jansen)

Fwd: Barlow, Wells, Lids, Greene, Menzel, Menadue (Kommer, Phillips)
