Men Down: Round 4 Review

I has been a massive round of Dream Team. Our rookies stepped up in the absence of our superstars who were missing in this  first multi-round bye. We have multi-byes to deal with next week as well.

Here’s a hint… when lockout is over, jump on and sub all of your West Coast, Sydney and Melbourne players straight to your bench.

So how did we go this week? Were we happy with your guys coming off the bench an filling in? Let us know in the comments.

  • To the few it may concern Coad out 2-3 weeks because of a hamstring strain according to McKenna.

    • Are you kidding me?!
      oh for god sake

      • yeah that boody horrible ‘ SUB ‘ rule is going to upset some teams structure this week for sure now that’s Coad is definitely out !

        OUCH !

        • one person who I think is going to avoid the sub is Swan. He was like a key forward when it was delivered to him. Give him rests up there.

    • Awesome news for me!!!!!

  • Team Name: Cousins Coke n Ice
    Round 4 Score: 2094
How many best 22 out: Goddard, Boyd, Little Libba, Higgins Reiwoldt & Lower
DT Studs: Swanny, Lids, Pav, Franklin
DT Duds: Harry Taylor, Krak, Foley
On the Chopping Block: Ive gone early, but pulled the trigger on Taylor as soon as I could, Brought in Coad to free up Cash then went Bang with Foley to Scotty Thompson
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Happy I cleared 2000. Can not believe how poor Harry Taylor has become, did a nasty 40k price drop before I pulled the trigger, but feel better now I dont see him sitting in my team.

How good were some of the rooks???? Great week for them to step up! Concerned that there may be carnage this week though not knowing what the team lists will look like, especially when Im heading off camping before the first game (no mobile covereage either to make changes on the Ipad if required either!).

    Whats a man to do?!

    DT Duds: Broughton, Vince, Krak
    On the Chopping Block: Krak
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Sat Darling, which cost me a score in the 2000s! Shouldn’t score any donuts this week (*touch wood*), but I need some more firepower in the lineup. Not sure what I can do this week, but very seriously considering my first trade(s).

DT Studs: Darling, duigan, heppel, swan, PAV
DT Duds:juddy, Cyril, cox, petrie, KRAK
On the Chopping Block: krakour is definately there abouts may keep him on the bench untill collingwoods bye then he’s out
Vent/Brag/Whatever: unfortunate not to hit the 2000 mark seeing as khunt filled in for lower and had a few that didnt fire but was well and truly held up by the rooks this week, would love to get jobe watson into my side he is by tip for the brownlow this year

  • Had a look at Dr. DT’s team. Foward line: Green, Rioli, Franklin and Goodes. There is no DPP in his mids as well. Which why I am keeping Krakouer in my team for DPP rounds 5 and 6.

  • tough decisions to make whether to trade out krakour and/or coad

    • pittard (port), im thinking him. Looks like a good sideways trade, the same price, plenty of growth. Kraks has a BE of 43 i think i read so he might be going down already

  • Team Name: Call Me Daddy
    Round 4 Score: 2191

DT Studs: Deledio, Swan, Pendels, A Swallow, Watson, Darling, Sandi, Franklin, Sylvia, Curnow, Duigan, Hepel
DT Duds: Krak Cox ……Bartel Gibbs not terrible but not great.
    On the Chopping Block. Hmmmm
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Major issue this week. Fluked my way to 43rd overall, had a massive oversight after moving Sylvia permanently to my forward line and cutting my forward mid link. Was relying on Petrie to cover Cox bye this week as both ruck subs not playing. To my horror realised i have Tappy Sylvia and Darling on bench already so cant use the link for Petrie or will cop a 0 in the foward line. To make things worse have Krak up front who may not play so could cop another 0. Have only 3 g in the bank.
I really need Zac Smith but with only 3 g and Tippet and Keefe on the bench cant see how to do it without double trading, and Krak and Petrie are really the only 2 i would want to trade out. Should i cop a Zero possibly 2 or should i trade and find a way to cover for this week but ultimately weaken my team. FAAARRKK Whats Pitt’s chances of playing some regular footy??

  • Team name – Scoring Glory
    Score – 1995
    How many best 22 out – 3
Studs – Fyfe, Buddy, Pendles, Sandi, Darling and rest of rooks
    Duds – Broughton and Kraks
Chopping Block – GB has had his last chance. From what I’ve read and seen his role in the backline won’t change and might get Adcock in this week for him.
Vent – Note to never risk captaincy on a ruckman. Went cox over Pendles and it cost me. Also, will probs keep Krak until round 8 then use him to help us get Didak. At least his price shouldn’t go down in that time.

  • Team name – Goodfellas
    Score – 1971
    How many best 22 out – 3
Studs – Swan (c), Buddy, Didak, Darling, Selwood, Swallow
Duds – Josh Hunt, Ryder, Hodge, O’Keefe
Chopping Block – O’Brien was a mistake to select him does get 60s consitently but i want big scores will trade him for Deledio while his price is low.
VentBrag/Whatever – Dissapointed that Lower didnt play but Otten got a excellent 87 as a emergency. Hunt was sub which ruined my score Josh Hunt that is and when will Hodge lift? needs to find his 2010 form.

  • I’ve thought about it, and reckon Krak will not get dropped- and watch him light it up on Anzac Day!
Actually, more of a gut feeling.

  • Don’t normally do this but here goes….

    Team name – Dal4Brownlow
    Score – 2290
How many best 22 out – 3 (Roo, Adcock, BJ, plus Libba but probably not in the best 22 yet)
Studs – Happyish with all bar duds
Duds – Stanley, Petrie and Spakour (emergencies Hale, Matera, Harris & Richardson were disappointing but didn’t affect score),
Chopping Block – Losing my patience with Krak and Petrie.
VentBrag/Whatever – 24th overall for this round, into the 300s overall. Pretty stoked as normally leave my run pretty late in the season (finished 500ish last year). Over the moon with my selection of Scott Thompson in the mids as a unique premium. Not sure why everyone didn’t jump on him with all those Crows retiring last year – hopefully he keeps up this form and stays fit. With two trades only used, and 200k in the bank – not sure which of Krak and Petrie to get rid of.

  • Wtf is with Dawes getting reported? I saw it on ch10 and its absolute crap.

    DT Duds: KRAKOUER!!, Prestia, Ryder
    On the Chopping Block: KRAKOUER!!
Vent/Brag/Whatever: Not much but what Krakouer yo Libberatore

  • in a bit of trouble

rawlings is letting me down and losing me $$$$$
    A) get adcock n free up $60000
    B) get smith n free up $200000

    • If I had him, I’d hold him.

However, if you really want to get rid of him…
at this stage of the DT season (pre 2nd byes) I’d go for Smith and get the $ for later upgrades.

  • Team name – MonFRIES with that
    Score – 2151
How many best 22 out – 4 (Voldt, Goddard, Boyd, Higgings)
Studs – Swan (c), Buddy, Deledio, Darling, Syliva, A. Swallow, D.Swallow.
Duds – Coad, Krak, Harris, Goods, Richardson
Chopping Block – Krak will go, hope he doesnt leak money before some one else pops up.
VentBrag/Whatever – Solid Rookie perforances all round. This got me to around 1500 overall. Planning my team loosely around not contain many players from the same team is paying off, except there really is not point except seeing a nice number in the rankings.

Vent/Brag/Whatever: Very happy with a score over 2100 in a multi-bye round.. Rookies stepped up!

    • Also, I was going to bring in Adcock but Cam Bruce pulled his finger out and actually did something.. any suggestions?
