  • Thanks Warnie.

  • so i can give u my thanks

  • Left out Jesse White in FWD / RUCK guys.

  • This may be a stupid question… BUT: can you change a player from being a forward to a midfielder mid-season? If so, how?

    • For example, I have Patrick Dangerfield (grrrrr) in my forward line at the moment, but if I wanted to move him to the midfield is it possible?

      • You would need to swap him with another player who is listed as a FWD/MID. Eg. If you have Dangerfield in the forward line, you would need someone like Chapman in your MIDs to be able to swap him.

  • Thanks Warnie for the info and perfect timing as I was just about to start looking for DPP rookies in the off chance that there was one worth getting in but doesn’t look like it. Maybe Rohan down the track if he is best pick at the time.

Alos gotta laugh at the fact there are only 2 DEF/RUC – Kepler Bradley & Trengrove Jackson. I truly hope that there is not a single team with both these spuds.

  • THANKYOU

  • Help – last week what I wanted to do was trade out Roberts from my fwd line, move Davis (a DPP) from the backline to the fwd line, and then trade in Webberley to the gap in the backline. Neat, but how???

When I clicked the trade button on Roberts, the list of tradeable players doesn’t include Davis (‘cos he’s already on my team) nor Webberley (‘cos he’s a defender and not shown on the fwd’s list). If instead if I try to move Davis forward it won’t let me ‘cos there are no empty spots on the fwd line!

So how exactly can you use Davis’s DPP status and trade out a fwd and trade in a back? Help anyone?

    • you need someone in your forward line whos a DPP aswell. He needs 2 be FWD/DEF same as davis so u can swap the 2 players around.

e.g pavlich is a FWD/MID as is Didak. If you had pav in ur mids and didak in ur fwd u can swap them around.

      get it?

      • Thanks Adam. Switching 2 DPP’s between positions I understand, no problems.

But I thought I had read somewhere about another DPP tactic where you could trade out say a FWD, move a DPP (eg a DEF/FWD) from the backline into the now empty FWD spot, and then trade in a new DEF. Neat because you only lose 1 trade, and a perfectly reasonable use of a DPP’s flexibility of being either a DEF or a FWD at your option. But when I tried to actually do it, the system just doesn’t seem to allow it.

In fact I recall someone saying they had put Goddard in the mids, with a view to moving him the backline later in the season. The rationale was that they could replace him in the mids more easily as there are more good rookie mids likely to come thru during the season that rookie backs. Hence, they would trade out a DEF, move Goddard to the backs and trade in a new rookie MID. This doesn’t now seem possible.

  • Great info here guys, very useful this year to avoid donuts across the field. Including starting prices next year would save us some research time :)

  • Ok guys…I’ve put together an excel spreadsheet with the complete list of dual position players, as listed above, to be able to further analyse their prices and stats.

It is available at the following link – http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1622772/Dual_Position_Players_DT_2010.xls and is up to date as of the end of round 12 at the time of this post.
I will endeavour to update it each week with the new scores and prices which will still be available at the link I’ve posted.

I have separated the different positions (FWD/MID, DEF/MID, DEF/FWD, FWD/RUCK and DEF/RUCK) onto individual sheets within the spreadsheet to make it easier to sort the players by Name, Team, Price or Average.

Each players name is also hyper-linked so it opens up to their player profile on the official DT website within your browser.

If you’re anything like me you are looking utilising the dual position players towards the end of the season in the absence of trades.

Hope this is of some help to you DT fans. :)
