AFL Teams 2025: Round 10 (Sir Doug Nicholls Round)

Thursday – Early news

Teams have dropped for Round 10, Sir Doug Nicholls Round, early news. Nick Daicos seems to be cleared of any injury after pectoral issues last game. Jayden Short is expected to play against North Melbourne after his late withdrawal last week due to knee soreness. Unfortunately, debutant Lewis Hayes has a serious knee injury and will be out for the season. Darcy Parish could possibly be back for the Dons if he passes fitness tests. Nathan O’Driscoll has had an injury setback and will be out at least another week. Sean Darcy had a jarred knee but is listed as a test, some were looking at Luke Jackson as an option if solo ruck, but Darcy isn’t necessarily out for long. In and out of the squad, injury-prone Tom Stewart is listed as a test. More recent news, Tom De Koning had a knock to the throat in the last game and hasn’t recovered so is out this week. Thursdays teams were announced last night, check notes below, but the biggest outs are Lloyd Meek and Henry Hustwaite for the hawks.

Notes: Henry Hustwaite was a fairly popular mid-price option, but after being subbed last week he’s missing this week’s game. Ruck Lloyd Meek was a handy POD for some teams, but he is unfortunately out, being replaced by Ned Reeves.

Notes: No big DT relevant changes here, Pendlebury is back which could change up roles a bit.

Notes: Kane Farrell is a player some might have as a POD, unfortunately he is out.

GAME 5: GWS GIANTS vs Walyalup (Fremantle)

Notes: Toby Bedford is in, which is bad news for one Freo mid with his tagging role. Sean Darcy is officially out, making Luke Jackson an option, but I’d personally prefer Darcy to be listed as a longer term injury. Josaia Delana, a possible cashcow for some, is also out. No sign of Connor Stone.

GAME 6: Western Bulldogs vs Essendon

Notes: Hayes is sadly out with an injury after his debut last week. I’d be concerned that Saad El-Hawli is a chance yet again to be sub, named last on the bench, and Hobbs, Shiel, Laverde feeling like less likely sub options. Have a back up option.

GAME 7: Richmond vs North Melbourne

Sunday, May 18, 1:10pm AEST MCG Melbourne 🌦🌡

Notes: Jasper Alger is a possible debut for the Tigers, check bench selections. Short is officially back in, but named on the bench ? he’s a concern so have backup options. A few popular cashcows on the extended bench, so make sure you check changes tomorrow.

GAME 8: Brisbane Lions vs Narrm (Melbourne)

Notes: Very popular preseason mid-price option Keidean Coleman is named on the extended bench, and could be a cheap option to get in if you want to remove some deadwood from your bench before byes. Ty Gallop is a possible debut.

Notes: Bo Allen named on extended bench after missing 1 week due to report. He could be a downgrade option if he makes the cut. Archer Reid?some may have as R3 on their bench?is out. Cashcows Harry Boyd and Tobie Traviglia are on the extended bench, as is Tom Gross for the Eagles, so check bench selections if you have any of them.
