Firstly, a shout out to the legends who came to see us on Wednesday night (Adelaide) and Friday night (Perth), great to see so many awesome people and slam way too many froths. We had a ball and appreciated you all for coming out.
With two games already gone, helping you with captain this week will be tricky. However, I hope you can see what I have done below with my top-7, knowing full well that my top two picks have already played. The aim here is for me to be (as always) 100% transparent with my top selections. I posted info about this on Twitter (and in Patreon) during the week so hopfully you have seen that and therefore understand why Calvin’s Captains this week looks the way it does.
DID YOU KNOW… A full Calvin’s Captains goes us up on Tuesday at 7pm? This week was a 1750+ word masterpiece where I covered around 30 of the best players, before making a top-10 list which goes up later in the week (Thursday). Not only CC’s but so much more wicked content as well. Head to our patreon for more info… for approx. $2.50 a week, it’s a dead set great deal with hours and hours of content and resources!
So if you’d like to check that out, click on the links. We appreciate your support!
CALVIN’S TOP…SEVEN
No. 1 – Max Gawn v Richmond
SCORE = 134
No. 2 – Zach Merrett v Collingwood
SCORE = 125

No. 3 – Marshall v PTA
@ Adelaide FRI 7:40pm
You scored 62? That’s gross Rowan. He was coming off 138 and 136, the areas he will return to this week. Rucks recently against the Power have scored …. Cameron 92, Jackson 74, Draper 49/Goldy 44 and Max Gawn 146. Back him again!
No. 4 – Heeney v HAW
@ the MCG, SUN 4:00pm
Hawthorn give up the equal-third most 100+ scores and in the last three weeks we have seen some high scores against them like… Anderson 154, De Goey 135, Xerri 126, Flanders 125, Daicos 110, Mitchell 110 and Sheezel 106. Heeney hasn’t had one score this year I wouldn’t have taken as a captain.
No. 5 – Gulden v HAW
@ the MCG, SUN 4:00pm
Errol had 104 on the Hawks last year and even though he is only averaging 101 in 2024… I’m expecting him to go BANG this week. Based on the same info above for Heeney, I can’t see a world where Gulden doesn’t cash in here either.
No. 6 – Flanders v WCE
@ PFS, SUN 1:00pm
West Coast rank as the 5th easiest for defenders which means Flanders should build on his recent 126 and 125. Recent DEFs have scored well against them with similar players like Clark (96) and Vlastuin (98) going well enough to indicate, Flanders will be good again.
No. 7 – Sheezel v ADEL
@ Blundstone , SAT 1:45pm
His form is elite 106, 159, 121 and 126. Sheez even scored 106 against the Crows last year. However, for some reason his scores in Hobart last year were below-average with 81, 53, 92 and 94. Now, can you work that out? Once again… he could be anything from 90 to 140.
Traded Gulden in for big scores, and this is one you’d have your eye on from a long way out. Gulden, Heendawg and Flanders for the top 3 hopefully!
No Cheez the Weez, but I wonder how long he can keep doing this xD
Zorko and Caldwell, niceeeeee debut. Should have stuck with fisher and Zwill lol.
Maybe not Fisher
It’s carnage round!
A lot of good rookie scores to balance it out.
My highest forward score is currently 50, lol
Can’t decide between Heeney and Flanders as C
Errrroolllll
It’ssss haaapeenninngggg!!!!!
