Marcus Bontempelli vs Jordan Dawson | AFL Fantasy 2024 Head2Head

Two of the best mids in the comp are up next in Bails’ Head2Head series!

Join me and special guest Jake (Dunkleys Donuts) from HatChat in the next head to head battle between gun midfielders Marcus Bontempelli and Jordan Dawson. We discuss each player in depth and talk about their pros and cons, give our verdict on who we would pick out of the two players, and if we are keen on starting either player in our side.

Marcus Bontempelli

The Bont had massive season (robbed of a Brownlow again) and a mini breakout from a fantasy perspective last season, elevating himself into the uber tier of fantasy scorers as the top scoring mid in 2023. He comes at a hefty price tag of $1.06m, but he is reliable every week (didn’t go below 85 last season) and a great captain option.

Info

Jordan Dawson

Had a huge first season as the Crows captain and the main man in the Adelaide midfield. Now listed as a MID only, he could go to another level and average 115 or maybe even more. Averaged around 120 from Rounds 4-20, and similar to Bont, didn’t go below 80 last season. Some people could be fading him as he lost DEF status and is at a high price of $1.02m, but I anticipate him to go big again and be a top 8 midfielder.

I am a lover of all sports, especially the AFL. Some of the teams I support include the Adelaide Crows, Manchester United, Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Rams just to name a few. I am also a big fan of fantasy sports, particularly AFL Fantasy and NFL Fantasy.

Haha, a team decimated by injury would only have 4 injured players, a player decimated by injury would only miss 2 and a bit games (also the word has been misused) this one always annoys me too, by definition in sporting terms being decimated would generally be a positive thing.
