Richmond vs Melbourne
Richmond have been the 2nd easiest team for ruckmen to score against, and Jake Spencer ($5,100 RU) is in a sweet spot in terms of price. The previously maligned ruckman was impressive in Gawn’s absence last week, scoring 77 from 15 hitouts; but more importantly, he looked like he belonged and he had an impact. Nankervis is much easier competition in the air than Sandi is, so expect the hairest man in footy to build on his 15 hitouts this week

While we’re talking ruckmen, don’t rule out Toby Nankervis ($6,500 RU) on a potential basis. Despite being the sole ruck for Richmond, Nank The Tank is 22nd in hitouts per game with just 20.8 so unfortunately, this has kept him from hitting triple figures. At that price though, he’s still worth considering against a Gawn-less Melbourne in the hope that he can reach a healthy tap total and thus, build a foundation on which to build a big score with everything else that he brings to the table.
Moving away from the big men now, and here’s your weekly reminder that Clayton Oliver ($8,100 MID) is still too cheap, given that he’s averaging 117 for the year. Plug him in and profit. Likewise, Alex Neal-Bullen ($7,000 MID), has failed to reach 95 just once this year and is clearly bringing him statistical VFL dominance into the seniors on a regular basis.
For the Tigers, Jason Castagna ($5,400 DEF), has been a DFS punter’s delight of late, scoring 98 and 92 in the past fortnight at a clearance sale price. More impressive that that, it hasn’t just been a random accumulation of stats – he just looks visually good.
