Calvin's Captains

Calvin’s Captains – Rd. 19

The pirate’s top-5 averaged 123 last week, proving he’s the best in the land! Who’s up this week?

Picking captains is a tough hobby but when it comes to this pirate – he’s an outright star (yes, this is being written by Calvin). Last week, we hit a great top-5 and the order of that top-5 wasn’t too bad either – the other five sucked, but I’m sure if you followed the plan that was laid out – you would have nailed a ripper this week.

So – we have another big week in front of us and some very juicy captain options to consider. For those playing the VC-Loop game, make sure you have people you are able to use to make sure you are getting the scores you are chasing. Good luck this week legends – only a few more rounds to go.

🏴‍☠️ 1 – Marshall v GEEL
@ GMHBA, THURS 7:30pm

🏴‍☠️ 2 – Sheezel v MELB
@ Marvel, SAT 4:15pm

🐽 Form – 124, 154, 173, 116 and 129
🏟️ Marvel – 120+ in his last five games
113 and 102 v Demons last year

AFL 2025 Round 18 - Melbourne v North Melbourne - A-60535962

🏴‍☠️ 3 – Daicos v CARL

AFL 2026 Round 06 - Carlton v Collingwood - A-66377038

🏴‍☠️ 4 – Nasiah v GEEL

Not tagged in last two Geelong games
🏷️ Mullin always a concern

AFL 2025 Round 19 - Geelong v St Kilda - A-60660665

🏴‍☠️ 5 – Ash v ESS
@ Marvel, SUN 4:40pm

🤷‍♂️ Form – 118, 87, 89 and 91
Takes marks, 8+ marks – nine times this year
🤷‍♂️ 89 and 107 v Ess last year
✅✅ Essendon MEGA easy

AFL 2024 Round 09 - Essendon v GWS - A-49126511

✅ ALSO CONSIDER….

Will Ashcroft v West Coast – hot form of 120, 134 and 152 but over the last ten weeks the Eagles actually rate as the third-hardest for midfielders to score against.

Lachie Neale v West Coast  – Dominates the Eagles with 117 (last year) and 133, 127, 113, 110 and 126 before that. Wicked record!

Brodie Grundy v Adelaide – Has hit 125+ in four of his last five at home and is coming off scores of 83 and 130. Ruck Pig a little up and down.

Bailey Smith v St Kilda – Over his career, the Saints are Smith’s second-worst team to score against and it’s not through being tagged – only had 70 last year.

Marcus Bontempelli v Gold Coast – Bont is usually good against the Suns, a team he has hit 100-plus against in his last six games straight. Rankine 138, Berry 126 and Dawson 112 made the Suns look silly last week.

AFL 2025 Round 19 - Geelong v St Kilda - A-60652799

⚠️ BE WARNED….

Jordan Dawson – JJ tagged him to 86 last year – Form ok – 88, 107 and 125.

Errol Gulden – 100 last week from 89% TOG is great. Adelaide #2 hardest for MIDs though.

Max Gawn – Hasn’t hit 100 against North (and Xerri) in his last seven games.

Tristian Xerri – Same… Xerri has never hit 100 against Max from his 5 games.

Dayne Zorko – Murdoch tag? Could certainly happen. Had 126 on the Eagles last year.

Noah Anderson – Dogs are his worst team to score against – Never hit 100 against them.

AFL 2025 Round 09 - Gold Coast v Western Bulldogs - A-59394834

Laird to Holmes this week as a first time owner, sigh…

Now, might as well go Holmes back to Zorko so he can ping another calf.

Defenders dropping like flies.

Well, at least (VC) Marshall worked out ok.
