Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the pig pen! Bang. Brodie Grundy now missing for our all important prelim finals and there is no guarantee that he will be there for the Grand Final week either. So that can only mean one thing… for the second last time this season… Let’s Scramble!
Ruck Pig Down!
It was the dying minutes of the game and Grundy went crashing to the deck and early signs were good but now we have found out that he will be missing this week through concussion and there has been no guarantee that he will be back for next week either. So in AF there is no choice but to trade and to be honest, if you are still holding a trade in RDT and SC then this is the time to use it. We can’t much around holding him and using bench cover when there is only two weeks to go.
So the great thing here is that he has been so great lately he is the most expensive player in AFL Fantasy at the moment so we can trade to whoever we want to and the best way to work it out is to check out the Scale of Hardness. And as the boys have mentioned earlier this week the best option we have is Marshall as he has had a great couple of weeks and he has the best run coming home with Essendon this week and the Giants in round 24. He should smash it.
The other option is of course Max Gawn but he has a much tougher run with Lloyd Meek this week and then Darcy Cameron in round 24. So not a dream run.
The good thing is that if you do go down to RoMar you will have an extra $141k to play with thanks to the nice price difference. So you can then put that on someone else’s head and get yourself a premium in a great match up.
The other problem you may have is that you could have Zach Merrett and if you do then he is another forced trade this week. With a value of just over $1m you have plenty of options to replace him also.
So what to do with that other trade?
Or your first trade if you don’t have Grundy. The first thing I am going to look for is someone in my team that is playing injured or has a niggle. Then second to that I will be looking for someone that is likely to get tagged. For example there is a big chance that Zac Butters will get tagged this week by Cooper Lord so if you do have a luxury trade left to do this week he is one you can move on.
Do you trade Lachie Ash? Well I don’t think I would be, everyone is allowed to have an off week every now and then. It is the first fail we have seen from him this season and unless there is an underlying injury that we don’t know about then I would be holding him.
Have you persisted with Ned Long? You dodged a bullet, sort of, last week when he was named as sub but came on early. I don’t think there is a guarantee that he will be named tonight. He would be one that I would be planning to move on if you can.
Fixture Alert
There is NO Thursday night game tonight. We have two games on Friday night so just be really careful here as it is likely that you will have some red dots that you would normally use to loop with playing (Bombers players) so just be really careful here.
Things to Remember
- Go big or you will be going home! No second chances when it comes to making a Grand Final.
- Use the scale of hardness and take a risk! It could get you the win and really lift you up the rankings.
- Make sure you have the red dots in the right games to be able to loop if you are planing to.
Just two rounds to go so let’s finish this season off strong and do everything you can do to get the win.
See you all next week for the Grand Final Preview.
