CALVIN’S TOP-5

🏴‍☠️ 1 – Daicos v WBD
@ MCG, FRI 7:40pm 

North Melbourne scored with ease last week against the Dogs with Simpkin 125, Powell 121 and Sheezel 114 all dominating. Daicos had 110 against the Dogs last year and even posted 112 on them in 2023. He only managed 95 last week but did cop attention from Willem Drew and should explode on Friday night footy.

🏴‍☠️ 2 – Zorko v WCE
@ GABBA, SUN 1:10pm

Coming off 112, Zorko could be huge here. At home, he is a different beast and averaged 121 at the GABBA last year where he feasted on some teams in a big way. He scored 85 on the Eagles (at Optus) and although that’s not great, they did give up plenty of points to the Suns last week.

🏴‍☠️ 3 – Dunkley v WCE
@ GABBA, SUN 1:10pm

Dunkley can be a little unpredictable but he did have 130 last week and this is what this guy can do. This game looks mega easy against a team that gave Anderson 117 and Rowell 108 good scores last week. He scored 106 on the Eagles last year and even averaged 106 at the GABBA.

🏴‍☠️ 4 – Rozee v RICH
@ Adelaide, SAT 4:15pm

The Richmond match-up! Even though Carlton didn’t take advantage of it… Rozee should. He has hit 100-plus against the Tigers in his last four games with 100 and 116 last year and averaged 105 at home. Cripps 102, Hewett 101 and Cerra 97 were all solid enough and if Rozee is hungry.

🏴‍☠️ 5 – Dawson v ESS
@ MCG, SAT 1:20pm

Hawthorn MIDs didn’t pump out huge numbers against the Bombers last week but that shouldn’t be a problem for Dawson who is coming off 126. He had 81 and 155 on the Bombers last year and has a mixed bag of scores of 60, 117, 97 and 172 in his last four games at the MCG. Will Durham tag? Or go somewhere else?

GAWN v XERRI

Both of the big rucks were very popular options last week and they both produced the 120-plus scores we expected. So why am I turning my back on them this week?

It’s obvious… they should cancel each other out like they did last year when Gawn scored 98 and Xerri scored 99.

From the last ten rucks to play Xerri… only two hit 100 and that was Nank 123 and Grundy 110. From the last ten rucks to play Gawn… No one has hit 100 against him and Briggs 99 was the best over that 10-game sample. I’m suggesting we shop elsewhere but with that said… they are both jets coming off nice scores.

🏷️James Jordon – tagged Neale (37) last week and in 2024 he started on Clark and then was moved to Serong.
🏷️Marcus Windhager – Had a go at Dawson last week, and could go to Bailey Smith after his killer game.
🏷️Will Phillips – Didn’t tag last week but has gone to Oliver before or maybe Petracca this time?
🏷️Willem Drew – Stood with Daicos at times last week… plays the Tigers, gets the day off.
🏷️George Hewett – didn’t tag last week but he could play a defensive role on Will Day
🏷️Harry Perryman – played a role on JHF last week, might stand with Libba at times.
🏷️Sam Durham – (and Redman) spent time with Will Day (77) last week… maybe goes to Dawson, Rankine…
